The New York Times article on the benefits of unplugging from electronics at summer camp: “[A] study showing that sixth graders who spent just five days at a tech-free sleepaway camp developed greater understanding of real-world interpersonal communication cues, including a better ability to read facial expressions, make eye contact, and interpret tone of voice and other prompts, such as posture and keeping an appropriate spatial distance with others.”

In addition to his many years of service on staff RK is also the founder of the PeaceCamp Initiative, a nonprofit organization committed to fostering friendships between Jewish and Arab youth by sponsoring their Susquehannock experience and teaching peaceful conflict resolution through the practice of Aikido.
