Okay so I hate generic ships, but I love Camsten, and lately I've been feeling like they have a quite generic relationship (besides all the tech n stuff) so is there anyway you could make me feel better about selling my soul to this ship?
Hi nonnie!!! hmmm...first off I’m gonna have to say I have no idea what you mean by generic? Like what is it exactly that you classify as being “generic”? Because in my experience all ships are extremely different from one another!
The reason I fell in love with Camsten is because of their friendship. From day one, despite Kirsten having no emotions or feelings, she still felt a connection to Cameron! Like she knew that this was a man whom she could trust to keep her safe. Throughout the first season Kirsten clearly doesn’t understand emotion because of her inability to feel it. And yet she’s drawn to Cameron. (Honestly someone without emotions suddenly experiencing feelings for another?? If that doesn’t scream otp I don’t know what does) When Kirsten gets her emotions back in season 2, she only does so after stitching into Cameron. Cameron is literally the one who made her FEEL again.
And Cameron...boy this guy had it bad from the moment Kirsten motha-effin Clark walked into the stitch lab. To everyone else, Kirsten was an emotionless, almost robotic human being. She had no friends because her lack of communication skills made it so. And yet Cameron pushed past the fact that Kirsten was a terrible conversationalist with zero compassion for others; because he saw something in her that nobody else could. He saw that behind all the snark and sarcasm was someone who wanted to feel, to understand emotions, to make a friend and actually keep a friend. Cameron, who barely knew her, saw this when Kirsten’s own roommate Camille was convinced she was an emotionless zombie. And when Kirsten got her emotions back, bot much changed with Cameron’s feelings towards her. He saw the person she was before and to him she was still the same person now. (perhaps with a little more knowledge of how to handle herself in an emotional situation)
Other things to mention that only make me love them more?-CAMERON DIED FOR HER. LITERALLY. -Kirsten had a hard time trusting anyone. But trusting cameron? No problem. -Stupid witty banter and nerdy pop culture references. (Honestly such dorks)-They just look great together okay.
If I’m being honest? The tech stuff is secondary to their relationship. It’s their friendship and trust thats more important. So nonnie? Sell your soul to them. Lord knows I already have. And if you still think they’re just another “generic” ship? Just know that’s it’s okay to still like it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with loving a relationship just because it’s so similar to others out there.
