4 3 Snowflake
Haven't been active recently, but for good reason! So many changes are happening around me right now, and it's all for the best. Great things coming up, bigger and better projects! In the mean time, here's one of my favorite snowflake pictures, taken just a couple days ago. Also shout out to JuanPuerto99 on Newgrounds, I miss seeing your art! I need to get online more, I've been just hanging around doing all sorts of different art projects. Never a dull moment in Spark's workshop!! Especially with your sign hanging up there!

The result of inspiration to make shadowboxes is finally here. I've made 3 different designs, all of which I like. It's taken me a bit to be inspired for the composition of these pieces, but this is only a small stepping stone. This piece is comprised of 10 separate photos that I've taken myself. I'm very proud to say I'm evolving my work beyond little projects step by step, and it's paying off. I've never made a piece that really made me swell with emotion, but this did, even to a small extent. I really want to make bigger projects like this, and I find it's only possible if the design and manufacturing phases are separated. It's too much to rush a project through the design phase and try to get it out the same couple days. I need to let my artwork cook for a bit longer and I think I'll get more pieces I'm proud of like this.

My favorite shot I got from a snowstorm a couple days ago. This was my first photo shoot at night, and it gives a bit of interesting lighting to the piece for sure! I'm definitely modeling this snowflake in the future!

Snowflake Decor
This is it. This is the final evolution of my snowflake art. I'm very happy with how these are coming out. I'm currently making 3 more at the moment! I wanted a way to proudly display the beauty that all starts with a single photo of a snowflake that I've personally taken. I sit out there in the cold as the sky peacefully drops snowflakes onto my canvas to photograph. I take not of the day, the temperature, the humidity, everything that makes this snowflake who it is. I then model the snowflake, making sure to get all the important details unique to that piece. Afterwards I sculpt details that I think lends itself to that snowflake's personality. I may be going too deep into it, but I'm truly finding the beauty in Nature's creation and I'm loving every moment of it. I can't wait to hang more of these on my walls. Made on basswood with acrylic paints, borax, and masking tape on a diode laser.

SnowflakeCreation
This journey started with photographing this very unique snowflake on the morning of November 27th. From there I use the photo to recreate the outline of the snowflake as faithfully as I can. Then the fun part of creating all the lines inside of the outline can begin! Whenever I create one of these I try to stick with lines that feel like winter, if that makes any sense. Light, windy, snowy lines. It just feels right when it comes out a certain way and it's hard to explain. I'm decently happy with this one but will probably edit some of the internal lines later to be more unique to this snowflake!

12" Snowflake wall art
Continuing my journey with snowflakes, I decided I've made something good enough to hang on my wall for inspiration. This was based off of a photo I took in a calm winded snowstorm earlier this month. I recreate the snowflake as a 2d object inside of a 3d modeling software for later use, and then extract the line art of the snowflake in order to bring it into an art program to add all of the soft swirls and details you see here! Then it's off to the laser to be engraved and cut. I have a couple more ideas of what I'd like to do with snowflakes, one is printing now...

Stinkybug (Scary bug warning!)
I know this post might not be for everybody, but I met a small friend yesterday and I wanted to see what kind of beauty he was hiding up close. I didn't expect to find a fractal pattern along with some other surprises! The top picture fascinated me with that elegant fractal pattern splayed across his lower back. It's quite the inspiration for some unique textures. Everywhere I look I'm seeing the same type of patterns repeat themselves in different ways, and this little guy is no exception! The bottom photo is something else entirely though. If you look behind his head, you can see what appear to be multiple craters dotted along him! I've never seen a living thing with such a pattern! It reminds me of the cratered surface of the moon in a way. Glad I decided to photograph this little guy, Nature hides so much from us, and only reveals itself when we decide to take the time to look a little closer, a bit deeper.. If anyone has any suggestions on what to photograph with a macro lens, please share! Quite the journey I find myself on.. Never know where I'm going next, but it's always a pleasant surprise to find my next project!

Snowflake Engrave
Continuing my adventure in snowflakes.. This has been the first time I've somewhat been able to capture the significant beauty of nature's fractal patterns. I'm still not happy with it, but after 5 or so attempts, I'm making great progress! This snowflake was modeled in blender by me using a picture of a snowflake that I had taken during an recent storm. Each day I spend on snowflake related tasks, I'm delving deeper into the details of what makes a snowflake, a snowflake. It's not enough to create an outline. Really looking at the details that are grown into the ice, the intricacy of branches and dimples and hexagonal patterns are really something. I'd give this attempt a 4.5/10, because it simply doesn't do it justice. I plan on making this piece into a necklace on a laser cut background painted with swirling patterns of white, and a mix of blues. I'm excited to see how it comes out.

Snowflake 1/06
One of my favorite photos that I took yesterday in a n amazing snowstorm. As I pay closer attention to snowstorms I'm beginning to realize that each snowstorm is as unique as the snowflakes themselves. Wind, temperature, humidity, it all effects what kind of snowflakes fall during that storm. Nature is beautiful, and we don't pay enough attention to it sometimes. At least I don't.

IceCrystals
I was wandering the woods a couple weeks back and I came across a patch of interesting ice crystals, and I've been meaning to use my new macro lens(for a phone, not a camera I'm not rich XD) and I think I got some cool results! I love finding patterns and textures in nature that might not be immediately apparent.. Things like snowflakes or wood can be particularly interesting in my area! Moss and rocks too.. It's all cool! I hope to get a real camera one day, but I don't know enough about photography to really spend the money on a real camera yet.

First and last vase
My first vase that I printed, compared with the last vase that I printed! The first on on the left was fairly easy to make, with some simple adjustments to geometry in blender to the smooth shape of a vase. I spent quite a bit more time on the one on the right though. I used geoetry nodes and passed vertex groups into the node setup in order to create the wood texture displacement you see on the top and bottom quarters of the vase. After that I manually placed elk and deer around the vase. All Texture/animals on the vase on the right are pictures that I've managed to snap! It's like pokemon... but with pictures! I am seriously considering more photography, but cameras are SO expensive...

Aspen leaf vase and hand sculpted vase
I recently, out of nowhere, as per usual, got inspired to make something random! So here's two of my latest creations that I felt like making. The fun part of making these is the different methods in which these can be made. The one on the left has an actual photo of an aspen leaf I have in my house that is wrapped around the entire vase, creating all that detail in the veins. The one on the right was sculpted by me, just something I had fun with. For the surface finish on these vases, I used a small fuzzy skin alteration in my 3d printer slicer, which wiggles the nozzle back and forth to a distance you set on the outer surface of your print, creating a satisfying texture to your prints!

Duckees
I'm back! Better than ever too! Probably won't be posting too much online unless there is more interest. I'm super happy to say that I've gathered a nice bit of local attention and it's helped me thrive as an artist, and I've made so many things that I can say are in the homes of someone who appreciates what I make! It's quite an amazing feeling. Been spending a lot more time on my products, and it's showing. Stay tuned I have a bigger project I'm working on that I can't wait to see come out. A question, I wonder if anyone would be interested in custom fursona pins? I think those would look really coooll might have to make one for myself..

SpaceRock!
https://youtube.com/shorts/XFLdWVxHAvk?feature=share Check it out! This is a render I did on my main pc! I took the raw 3d scan I had at it's highest resolution and modeled a quick floaty holder for it. I like how this render turned out! At 30 frames per second, it took approximately 7 hours to render all 450 frames of this guy. I always enjoy seeing how smoothly these come out after rendering for so long.

Copper Mineral(Game ready??)
Hey! I 3d scanned a beautiful piece of what I believe to be a copper based mineral the opther day, and I've been playing around with optimizing these scans for video games! My plan is to scan in all the beautiful pieces that I've got the chance to get my hands on into Vr! I'd like to have a home environment where I can look at all the 3d scans I've done before gaming. I don't know. Sounds like a cool idea!

Stump 3d scan!
A higher quality 3d scan that I did just yesterday! I've really found that I like taking these recently. I've been exploring around and I've found that there are tons of perfectly picturesque scenes around just begging to be scanned! Once I take a lot of these, I plan using them in an asset-ish way in terms of compiling scenes inside of blender for 3d prints! I have a couple ideas in mind right now, but I'm not sure if they'll pan out... Only time will tell!
