Rochegrosse's Le Chevalier aux Fleurs (1894), but the knight is D'arce

I did this as my final project in a class on Zen Buddhism (long story). This was by far the longest I've worked on a painting. If I had to guess, it took about 45 hours. I originally wanted to include all of the flower maidens who were immediately adjacent to the knight, but quickly realized how impossible it would be to finish the painting on time if I did that. I held off on posting this because this study feels very personal to me for some reason. I stepped way outside my comfort zone and got some much needed practice rendering metal and reflections.

The inspiration behind inserting D'arce into the painting largely comes from this concept art. Very similar vibes to the original painting, no?
