less than 24 hours til I inevitably have to cross some things off my "I thought of it before Deltarune" list

Lets hope the casualties arent extreme this time round. I'm very excited btw!!

i swear to god every single chapter since I started working on Canon has done this. I'll play it and be like “oh well there goes an idea i had but done much better than i wouldve”, though tbf a lot of times its for the better.

originally the three party members were gonna have vastly different fighting styles based on different games/genres; Nils was a shooting gallery, Charlie was typing of the dead, and Matthew was Punch-Out.

but then CH2 came out and did the Punch-Out thing and I just kinda went “ehhhh maybe not” which tbh was MUCH for the better. i dont even particularly love Punch-Out

Cannot wait for Canon to be fully out so I can stop worrying about this lmao. I'm certain it'll be out after CH7 which is uhhhhh a horrifying thought.

changed the Demon Corps standard officer model to be less flashy while actually getting even closer to my original design from the concept art (in my brain)

crossed is too defensive feeling imo.

her body language is very inspired by Darth Vader and I dont think you ever see him emote in any way that suggests insecurity like that.

crossed arms is like "i want to communicate to you that I am better than you" which i think tells on yourself a little bit. like whay do you need to do something to show that youre better if you really just are. Gwen really just is, or at least thinks she is

anyway heres menacing semi-clenched hand. more of an active threat (especially when the person doing it can shoot fuckin lightning blasts from her hands)

she started as a generic "subversive GIRL mechanic" redesign of another character character, but over time I kinda narrowed it down to "moé high femme grease monkey that can do no wrong"

technically THIS was her first design. Gwen's mechanic was gonna be a dude named Scott who didnt really have a personality. I redesigned him to be a girl (old Leah design) and then retconned Scott to be Leah's dad.

Shes super awesome. Also when i was looking for this concept art of Scott i remembered how much Leah x Gwen porn I drew lmao

very quick update post before i go to work!

those of us who experience time linearly are quickly approaching the one year anniversary of me starting the current iteration of Canon's development! For such an event I'd like to put out a small alpha demo for Patreon supporters!

I'm gonna try to have a medium-well polished build up to the combat tutorials and post-tutorial story exposition cutscenes. I think this is gonna be a great time for people to really get their hands on it and feel what the game is all about, be charmed by my hilarious writing, and become dazzled by my genius and perfect game design that will contain zero* bugs!

I would love to have it out by June 21st for epic story parity reasons, but thats not super realistic what with the fact that I have a full time job right now. As much as I'd love to say fuck everything and renege all my prior responsibilities, I do still have to go to school and pay for food and shelter unfortunately.

That being said, I have a LEGITIMATE FUCKLOAD to show off compared to the last public demo. You're gonna have whatever genital situation you're rocking blown smooth off your shoulders when you boot up this demo come the end of summer.

La Singularidad (WIP) - 2/25/2023

Combat tutorial theme that's made of an even older WIP remake of a song of mine that is like 8 years old. I like it but I'm almost definitely gonna update it further.

Am currently working through the combat tutorial for the game, and I wanted to give the two robot tutorial dudes a lame song each that would then combine into one song when you fought them both at once, which is what this is. (not gonna post the other ones)

The robots are very vaguely themed after mexican wrestlers hence the spanish title.

As for how the games going, honestly its goin pretty well! ive fleshed out a lot of the scripting systems so I can actually make story moments happen, which is what I've been focusing on recently.
