It is good to know that you and Carol Ferris were not too badly injured for your fight for our homeworld- a battle that I am not sure I properly thanked you for.

Ghia’ta came to me when she was about three years old. Her father and mother had left Zamaron to live together, but an attack on their world saw the end of them both. She was such an eager child, she wanted to become a Sapphire almost the minute she heard they existed, but did not join until a few years before she came of age. There was so much love in her, even as a toddler, that she seemed destined to become one of the Corps’ greatest members.

You have thanked us more than enough, Queen. And at least in my case Aya is as much a problem of mine as of yours, or actually more... She was my crew mate and I was her superior but I didn't notice what was happening to her in time.

I see, that does sound like Ghia'ta. Love really was a driving force for her. She definitely did your corps proud. I only wish she didn't pay as high a price for her bravery.

Ghia’ta loved you and you did not acknowledge that because you were in love with someone else. She was in pain and then her love for you foolishly caused her to sacrifice her own life. She was not supposed to be anywhere near the battle between love and hate.

She is at fault here. Not me.

Ghia'ta did not expect or want me to lie. She valued honesty and cared for me enough to want me to be happy. Even if that meant we would never be together. I never tried to deceive her or lead her on. Her love for me just happened and there was nothing either of us could do about it.

Did it lead to her death? Yes. But it was her own choice.

Who are you to dictate how people are supposed to live? Who gave you the right to judge their decisions?

If someone wants to dedicate their life to an ideal and sacrifice it for it, it is their right to do so. You used to be like that. You were a Green Lantern Aya. And Green Lanterns protect all sentient life at the cost of their own.

And this has nothing to do with love but everything with duty. Are you going to outlaw the sense of duty as well?

I am not a villain, Hal Jordan. I am protecting my kind from you. Emotional life is flawed and useless. It is nothing but pain. I have never experienced anything that has not led to eventual pain.

You cannot convince me otherwise. Neither could the champion of love.

Protecting them from us? It's them who attacked us. Remember? You were helping us fight them. They attacked you as well. You are not one of them. You're sentient and they're just broken, malfunctioning pieces of junk. There is no life in them.

Aya, in life there are ups and downs. Sometimes we are happy and sometimes we suffer. What happened between you and Razer was painful but that was not the end of your life. Good things were still coming your way.

It's the same with me and Carol. Our love has hurt both of us, but there is joy in it too, so I could never regret having met her.

Do not worry Hal, I will not take any risks that will endanger my life, or those of my people. We are taking extra cautionary measures to ensure we are ready if she attacks us.

*She looks him sadly in the eyes for a moment, before bowing her head slightly*.

I too wish that I could join you. If I had another sibling to reign temporarily while I was gone, perhaps I could. But my only brother is Ragnar...

*She looks away, reminiscing, then looks back at Hal and gives him a small smile*.

I would enjoy a visit to your planet very much... Though, I'm not sure I would be well received by your people.

That's good to hear. Only it's hard to say what measures would be enough. She has the power of the Anti-Monitor but is even more viscious and much faster than him...

Maybe one day you'll find someone trustworthy enough to aid you in your duties and take over from you when necessary. But at least for now the Green Lanterns have a planet they're always welcome at and that definitely counts for something *Hal smiles at her warmly*

The people of Earth are getting more and more used to superheroes and aliens, so you would be fine. And you're not that different looking from a human. I think I'm the only human you know, but I can tell you you look a lot like a female from Earth. It's mainly your eyes, the markings on your face and skin tone that are different and all that could be easily covered up. 

Plus I'd take you to the less crowded places anyway. *he smirks at her*

Ghi’ata was much loved by all even before she changed the face of the Star Sapphires. The Corps, and the planet, mourn her passing. We will recover, eventually.

As for myself… my physical wounds are mending. And yours? Your battle with Atrocitus was quite brutal.

Yes, I spoke briefly with her after she rid herself of her emotions. I find her decision… strange. When we last met, I sensed a wonderful balance in Aya- and to know that she has now thrown that away…

But do not give up, my friend. There is a solution, and you will find it. Of this I have no doubts.

I'm glad to hear that. That's the last thing I would want to happen to you, so please be safe and don't take unnecessary risks. Aya can travel extremely fast, so be on the look out for her or she will surprise you.
