“You’ll mostly be working around the Villa. and if you would prefer to work at night, that’s fine. Nothing is better than a good night under that stars in that cool air.” She brushed her hair back, closing her eyes and picturing it.
“Working at night, ey? I don’t usually, but… Alright. I’m certain I’ve a few desert-climate plants hidden away someplace. With half my cells being plants cells I might be a bit tired, but I’ve worked at night before. I’d ask if you want to join me, but you’d probably be asleep. And not trust me nearly enough to be alone at night with me.”
“You haven’t really given me a reason to not trust you, Hershel. Do you intend on giving me one soon?” She opened her eyes, full of amusement. “And don’t presume to know how long I’m able to stay awake. Do you think you and Randall were the only two who perfected staying up far passed you ‘bedtimes’?”
