Free Snizhana! Освободите украинских гражданских — незаконно увʼязнених цивільних!
Petition to free unlawfully detained Ukrainian civilian
‘Free Snizhana’ – free all the illegally detained civilians! On March 24, 2022, Snizhana’s twelve-year-old son, Sashko Radchuk, suffered an eye injury during the shelling of Mariupol. The only accessible medical workers were the Ukrainian military doctors stationed near the Ilyich Steel Plant (MMK), and Snizhana took her son there for treatment. On April 12, 2022, Russian military forces surrounded the plant. Together with the other civilians sheltering at the plant, Snizhana and Sashko left it and started moving in the direction of the areas controlled by Russian forces. At the filtration camp in the village of Bezimenne in the occupied areas of Donetsk region, Russian emergency services personnel seized Snizhana’s and Sashko’s smartphones and interrogated them about their place of residence, occupation, and family ties. On April 13, 2022, armed men in camouflage separated Snizhana from her son and took her to an unknown location. Sashko was transferred to a hospital in Donetsk, from where his grandmother later picked him up. Since then, the fate and whereabouts of Snizhana Kozlova remain unknown.

Regarding the agencies that should be helping my son. Regarding the ICRC—the situation is well known, I don't even want to repeat it in detail—I still have no confirmation from them that my son is in captivity. Regarding the UN, I received a response from them saying that if I already know where my son is and he has a lawyer, they can't help me in any way.

They put some kind of brace in my mouth. I never understood what it was for. They tilted my head back, pulled my cheek to the side, and with a file (a small file designed for very small and precise work. – Ed.) they filed down two of my teeth to the stumps. I think I lost consciousness 10 times.
After the “procedure,” the executioner brought me a small piece of plum cake to tease me. He knew that after having my teeth cut, I couldn’t eat sweets.

The detention of Andriy Varvarov from Zaporizhzhia and Vadym Nosan from Melitopol has also been officially confirmed by the ICRC. Despite this, the aggressor country refuses to return the men to their homeland, although they are being held there without any status or charge. The volunteers were kidnapped in the Tokmat district while they were traveling to occupied Berdyansk to pick up their friends. The volunteers were held for some time in the infamous Olenivka colony, and then transported to places of detention in Russia. In the Donetsk region, they were subjected to torture and physical violence.
