Citroen Cabrio / wonderful stuff.
Opel Commodore GS/E, 1972. The high performance version of second generation Commodore (B) was powered by a 3.0 fuel injected straight 6
BMW 3.0 CS, 2020 (1974), by SpeedKore. An E9 restomod commissioned by Robert Downey Jnr who wanted to meld modern materials with classic European styling. To that end it has been repowered with an engine from a E34 M5 in addition to carbon fibre bumpers and spoilers. There’s also a woodgrain beltline, forged HRE wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires and a contemporary Brembo braking system.
Mercedes-Benz 230SL, 1963. The W113 series SL replaced both the 300 SL (W198) and the 190 SL (W121) and sold in much greater numbers than either of its predecessors. Developed under Head of Styling Friedrich Geiger, the lead designers were Paul Bracq and Béla Barényi, who created its patented, slightly concave “pagoda” hardtop. It was the first Mercedes model to have radial tyres fitted as standard equipment. During the SL’s 9-year production life the M-series straight-6 engine grew from 2.3 to 2.8 litres though an experimental V8 version never made into Mercedes showrooms
Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato, 1967. For sale on eBay in New York, an unrestored original Fulvia coupé that the seller claims has spent most of its life in Southern California and has been resprayed in the original blue. No milage is given but the car is offered for $36,500. As it is a 1967 model it is probably powered by a 1.3 litre narrow angle V4 engine. The Lancia DOHC engine is unusual in having a narrow 12° V allowing a single cylinder head to cover both banks of cylinders, it is installed longitudinally at a 45° angle.

Triumph TR6, 1969. The most successful of the TR series prior to the TR7, of 91,850 TR6 models produced, 83,480 were exported with only 8,370 being sold in the UK. The vast majority went to the US market. The car was substantially based on the TR5 with the revised front and rear being designed by Karmann in Germany. It was powered by a 2.5 litre fuel injected straight 6 engine that produced 150hp with a 4-speed overdrive transmission (effectively a 6 speed as the overdrive worked on both 3rd and 4th gears).
Triumph 2000 Mk 2, 1970. Designed by Michelotti Triumph’s executive saloon was built in Coventry and also assembled in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Belgium. The estate was built by coachbuilder Carbodies. It was powered by a 2 litre straight-6 engine driving the rear wheels. The 2000 and 2.5 litre version were Triumph’s last executive class cars, under British Leyland’s rationalisation plan they were replaced by the 6 cylinder versions of the Rover SD1
