Today I became Mrs. Deagan Connolly. 

“Deagan Finn, I knew from the moment I met you that you would change my life forever. In a short span of time, you went from being a total stranger with incredibly bad hockey taste, to the man I wouldn’t be able to live my life without. You are truly one of the wisest men that I know. Your passion and determination know no bounds, and is one of the many reasons I fall in love with you more each day. You showed me what love should feel like, what it should be like, and why so many people will die for it. Over the years you have taught me more about myself than I cared to discover. It was through your love that I was capable of growing into the woman standing before you. I know I will not always be exactly what you want me to be. I may be too stubborn at times and I may forget to share my thoughts and fears, but I can promise you that despite all of that, I will always love you and I will always strive to best woman you believe I can be.Today and everyday hereafter, I vow not only to listen but to hear, not only to be honest, but to trust, and not only to love but allow myself to be loved by you. I promise to always consider your feelings and thoughts, even when I don’t agree with them. I vow to cherish and respect you, to never take you for granted, to stay true to you, to let you have control of the remote control, and to share even my most favorite food with you. I promise to make sure we always find time to have date night. I vow to stand by your side through hard times and good times, through sickness and health. I vow to kiss you each morning and night, and every moment in between. This ring is a symbol of not only my vows but also will serve as a reminder that you will never have to face the world alone and that I will love you in this life and every life thereafter.”

Patricia, Since the day you came into my life it's been pretty crazy to say the least. But I knew the moment I saw you that you were my forever. Something inside of me instantly clicked. It was like you had been missing from me my entire life. Over these years of our insanity that has only proven truer. No one said this was going to be easy or perfect. At times its been a down right struggle. Butthat's one of the many reasons I love you. You fight for what you want. You're my stubborn Irish woman and I wouldn't change a single thing about you. I'm so proud of the woman you've become and I'll never stop trying to change for the better for the man you need me to be. I can't promise that we aren't going to argue from time to time and I wont occasionally slip and say stupid things. But I do promise to love you unconditionally and to try and think before I speak when I'm angry. I promise to take care of you and our boys until I take my last breath. To protect all three of you until my heart takes its last beat. I promise to buy you as many animals as you want haha. I'll forever keep you warm at night and when you're shivering from being sick. I'll always be awake when you have a nightmare and you can't fall back asleep. I promise to bring you orchid's randomly to remind you that I love you forever. I promise to always cook you chicken when I'm cooking red meat. I told you in the beginning I'm a simple man without much to give. But I give you my heart, myself and every single part of my life. No secrets, no omissions. I love you and this is me saying 'I do' to spending the rest of my life with you.

I love seeing you tremble before your boiling point, you know, the times when your hands ball into fists, your lips twitch and suck at your teeth, your shoulders broaden until you take up the entire door way. Shit, I just fucking love the way you look at me with anger in your eyes. Knowing that I bring out the devil in you-- well that's a feeling that I can't get enough of.

I wrote this for you. I wrote it along my curves watching as the ink settled into the soft ridges of my skin; the color seeping down the small valleys like blood on a tile floor. I wanted you to read me like the way you read sheet music, focused and attentive. I wanted to feel the warm, stickiness of your recently licked finger tips as you turn another leaf of my soul. I wanted to hear the air that you sucked between your thin but beautiful lips as you finally get to the good parts of me. I wrote this for you because I wanted to be a Symphony played by your hands.
