Alistair gave a small shrug of his shoulders just once. “I’m still alive aren’t I?” He replied quickly before tucking his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. “I still do not grasp how the fact that the Volturi let you all go free simply by just talking to them. Perhaps in time they will return and…set things straight.” He fell silent for a while keeping a calm exterior expression. “It just seems out of the ordinary for them to let you go.”
"Whatever it was that my daughter showed him left an impression, I choose to believe he showed us mercy that day, I highly doubt we will be doing business with them again, at least not any time soon" Carlisle offered with a gentle tone. "Perhaps it's best we no longer stress of the situation and be glad the whole debacle is done with"

Ever since tending to Marissa at the hospital, Carlisle had been a mess of confusion. The wounds she had suffered, the marks on her body. They were all signs of abuse but he knew it wasn't that. His son's lifestyle was something the doctor never approved of and could never fully understand, though he had no say in that matter anymore, Edward was his own man now, fully grown and of a mature age, he was no longer that little boy who would run around the house with his action figure fighting each other in some epic battle, he was no longer the teenage boy who Carlisle could slap a curfew on for being late home.
Edward's home certainly was extravagant, though it didn't feel like a home. It seemed as if it was more for show, bright green grass that had been cut into perfection, flower bushes that fell in color order, the driveway was clean, not dirt or garbage lingered. No, everything was perfect. Even the staff, when Carlisle drove to the front gates waiting for entry, Jared came over with hair cut and styled as if he was right out a magazine, pearly white teeth with a Hollywood smile. Carlisle wondered if his and Esme's ways to favor Edward as a child had caused this need to be the best. The Cullens had a plush life, with Carlisle being a successful doctor and his wife being a designer to the stars, wealth was nothing to them though Carlisle and Esme never had it go to their head, money was nothing but paper to them both but to Rosalie and Edward, it seemed to be everything, success and power was everything. Was this why Edward entered the life of domination?
Upon entering the home, Carlisle thought whether he should remove his shoes in order to avoid staining the bright cream carpets but decided against it. As he walked through the large interior, he noticed the lack of personality in the home. No photographs, nothing that would jump out and show who Edward was and what he liked, it was bland but expensive, empty but filled. It seemed as if Esme was needed to sprinkle her magic onto the place, just to give it life but that idea would have to wait as more pressing matters were at hand. Marissa. Carlisle followed the sound of clinking bottles and glass to the kitchen where his son was waiting for him, bourbon in hand and a burning cigar in the other. The bourbon was no surprise but the cigarette was. "I thought you kicked that habit son" Carlisle sighed as he placed his suitcase onto one of the counters, the suitcase which held the medical files demanded.

"Carlisle… What brings you here?" Alistair asked him, taking a few steps closer before stopping keeping at least some distance between the two. It had been a few years, possibly five to six since the last time that they had seen each other. As a vampire a few years felt like nothing, and Alistair would usually visit every century or two. Being as it was only a few years it seemed a bit rushed that Carlisle would show up out of nowhere, then again. It wasn’t uncommon for Alistair to show up out of the blue with his visits.
"Alistair my old friend, how're you?" Carlisle asked with usual soft tone, his hands clasped together at his front. It was a joy to see someone out of his family circle, not that he didn't love his family or their company because he did dearly, he just enjoyed seeing others, hearing their stories, what they've been up to. Now Alistair was a special case, he rarely crept out from the shadows and sometime Carlisle chose to go seek him out earlier. "I simply came to visit you, the last time we spoke was to talk about the Volturi leaving us be, I just wanted to see how you've been since"

"Carlisle!" Alice called in a panic. Carrying Bella into the house. How the hell she managed it, she would never know. She wanted to drain her right there, but she fought the urge with every ounce of strength she had. She flitted into the house. Bella was nearly unconscious bleeding. Her eyes were black as night and she was terrified.
Carlisle rushed down the stairs with high speed and instantly picked up on the smell of freshly flowed blood. "Esme, go grab my surgical bag, Emmett take your brothers out of here" He instructed his family who all followed their father without question. "Alice, what's happened?" he asked while directing her to place Bella down on one of the couches. His eyes ran over the girl's injuries, looking for severe damage as Esme brought his bag. "Esme, go to Jasper, he's going to need you by his side right now, Alice, you need to tell me what happened so I can know where to start"

Just need to say that im sorry I havent been online and to the group i was once in, this isnt an excuse but the reason why and the reason why i will not be on for some time is that my family in rl have suffered a tragic circumstance, none of us know what to do and it was such a a shock i am still hurt over it. my entire family are. usually i use websites such as tumblr to block out the real world but this is too powerful for even roleplay to heal. i am fully aware i have lost my place with some roleplayers and that is understandable. i am not asking for another chance because as i said i wont be online, give a take a few weeks, months, i dont know,, its hard to say, but however i do hope that the cullen groups i was in, find a very good carlisle to fill the voids and they have fun living their other lives.

As soon as he heard the clattering of bottles on the marble sides, Carlisle's mannerisms fizzled and he lunged his body at the door, shattering the thick wooden block away, he stumbled in and held onto the handle to remain stood, he was quite shocked at being able to bring it open. His eyes fell to his daughter, sobbing on the floor, wrapped in herself. It was as if she had transformed back into a child, a little girl, daddy's angel. Carlisle didn't speak as he wrapped her with a thick towel and slowly pulled her into his arms, rocking her as if she was a baby again. "Alice what on earth has happened darling" he whispered into her still wet hair quietly, not to startle her trembling form.
A feel of sadness and worry rushed through Carlisle’s body, he had never heard Alice sound so…worried. This wasn’t his daughter. She was bubbly and the life of any and every party, so he instantly picked up on that lie. “Alice, can you open the door for me?” He asked...

Alice ran upstairs and tucked her phone in her pocket. “I’m here Carlisle. What’s going on?”
Carlisle didn’t understand why he was slightly shocked, this is Alice he asked. She always had a back up plan for everyone and in any situation. He smiled graciously at her before staring curiously at the boxes on his desk. “So what do you have for me?”..he chuckled under his breath as he though of Alice being a dealer of some kind
"Well," She smiled picking up the smallest one, "this is that ring she’s been looking at. Tell her you looked at her internet history." Alice giggled and picked up another small box, "This is a matching necklace." She then pointed at three boxes, "These are renovation tools to help her bring life back to those things at the store that she’s been struggling with so much." She pointed at three other boxes, "These are lingerie." Then she giggled excitedly and pulled out two plane tickets. "And these are plane tickets to Isle Esme which has been repaired by Jasper and I. You have a whole week off. I already cleared it with your and her bosses."
Carlisle was positively stunned, he knew she would satisfy his needs but this was amazingly thought out. "Thank you so much Alice.." he kissed her on the forehead and held her cheek smiling. "She will love all of these, I bet Jasper has the best anniversaries with you as his wife" He chuckled lightly and gently picked the bracelet up. "I need to treat you at some point for these, your a life saver...and Jasper of course for fixing our Island." He cringed slightly when he thought of his son and daughter in law there. He placed the items back into their boxes and hidden them into his desk knowing Esme wouldn't look there. "We need new bed spreads, I would feel better knowing I bought a fresh set after my son's tryst"
Carlisle sighed and raked his hand through his hair as he dropped his jacket onto the dining table, work had been an hassle. More teenage hooligans doped to the gills on drugs and their stomachs drowning in alcohol. He mentally cursed the parents for not keeping a stern eye...
