I need to see my friend We will see each other to the end Hold each other in a house of shame So contemptible full of disdain I lost sense of what's sensible I lost my pride, my second face, and all the lies inside
Rough mix and other nasty mixing habits await you, listener. I made this while streaming. This was the first time using a custom Reaktor ensemble I made for the mastering process. As per usual, all of the instruments were recorded in continuous takes. I'll probably flesh this out later on. I also used two Delay Lamas because you fuckers won't stop asking for it.

Hauntology: The title comes from "Specters of Marx" by Jacques Derrida. It refers to the feeling of nostalgia of an experience one never had. Most of the writing was done while staring at random places in Google Maps. That's the sentiment I got from staring at places across the world that I'll probably never even visit. The feelings I got from that were what I composed around. I'd even leave the Street View page open for a day or two while I finished writing, sometimes even leaving the monitors on overnight.

I was challenged by someone to make a song as if it was 1992, using (more or less) period accurate hardware (via VSTs) that wasn't too expensive. I researched gear to see its flaws and characteristics to get as close as possible.
For example, I checked spec manuals for popular budget mixer just to get the noise floor and EQ strips accurate. I even exported everything at 48 kHz/ 16 bit depth to mimic a DAT recording from the early 90s.

A compilation of projects that had to die, 'Dopamine' are throwaway projects I made that rely heavily on samples. Since using copyrighted materials jeopardizes whether this will stay up on the internet, I stopped working on them since it'll be for naught. This is basically plunderphonics made by a beginner in sampling. Some of the drums and other samples were mangled on an ASR 12 and an MPC60. The rest were basically exercises with Ableton's warping. 'Eight Three Twenty Fourteen' was made by constantly sending an ALS file back and forth through Skype until it became a trap banger. Â Either way, I had tons of fun working on this thing. I learned a ton during the course of its production. Iâd love to do more sampled stuff but itâs such a minefield with DMCAs and content ID.

I got a Jazz Bass from a pawn shop about two weeks ago and never before did I really appreciate the snarling sound it has. I listened to a lot of Rush and love Geddyâs tone but I was never after that on m own stuff. I changed my mind when I ran it through a computer's soundcard as opposed to a proper interface. This was so that it would overdrive easier. Then I further compressed it with an 1176 emulation. The title is "Let Ring" due to the B and high E strings constantly being open and ringing.
