Vote NO on PROP 17 :: California is one of three states that prohibits people with felony convictions from voting until both their incarceration and parole are finished. Not to be confused with Probation. California allows someone on probation to vote. Parole begins upon release from prison, in advance of when the sentence ends. Their voting rights will automatically be restored when a PAROLEE has paid their debt back to society.

Those who support this proposition mislead voters to believing CRIMINALS will never get their voting rights back again. Criminals are not being punished because they have to fulfill their sentencing obligation--probation.

Vote NO on PROP 16 ::Proposition 16 will violate other state and federal laws guaranteeing equal protection and prohibiting unlawful discrimination. If passed, Sacramento will now be able to determine your qualification for a position, a job or entering to a college just by the color of your skin, race, sex, national origin.

The hard push for Proposition 16 is Sacramento also admitting our lower institutions of education have failed the parents and their children of California. Sacramento is trying to use this to hide the fact children graduating now do not have the ability to meet the requirements to attend institutions of higher education.

We are looking at a projected budget of $84 BILLION, $12,619 per K-12 student for the next cycle. Increased by $2.5 BILLION. We must say NO TO PROP 16 and stop hiding the fact the California School system needs to be fixed. As Assemblyman, I will do what I can to work with the teachers, unions, and parents to restore our schools and give your child the ability to be competitive in the work force.

This would amend the California State Constitution to require commercial and industrial properties to be taxed based on their market value and not purchase price. Proposition 15 would make the California State Legislature responsible for passing laws for a phase-in of the market value-based tax and how often the reassessments would occur. In 1978, Californians approved Proposition 13, which required that residential, commercial, and industrial properties are taxed based on their purchase price. This proposition is to recover revenue losses from state's personal income tax and corporation tax. A record number of people and companies are leaving California for states with a friendlier climates toward liberties and business. Sacramento will be encouraged to find ways to raise taxes for their pet programs. VOTE NO on PROP 15.

In 2004, California Voters approved Prop 71 (2004) to allocate THREE Billion dollars of state funds for embryonic stem cell research over ten years. By 2012, no treatments resulted from the state's three billion dollar investment, and the CIRM had funded only one clinical trial using hESC research, which was stopped by its sponsor before completion.

Many scientists argued that this embryonic stem cell research "could" enable future treatments for many diseases, and that progress towards developing such treatments would be deterred without public funding. This state-sponsored investment in embryonic stem cell research did not produce the promised cures and economic payoff. Nor will PROP 14, the same proposal.

In addition to the $5.5 Billion dollars each California Taxpayer will contribute to, the interest paid on this bond is estimated to be $2.3 Billion dollars. VOTE NO ON PROP 14.
