“There you go. Beautiful…” Maxine chuckled, standing back just a little after doing Carly’s eye makeup. Max loved a good makeover and even if it wasn’t someone else’s thing she could usually talk them into it. “Not that you’re not always beautiful…” She found herself saying, though she ducked her head slightly and blushed, just hoping that Carly didn’t notice. “So. Are we going out or staying in?”

The blonde had been talked into this, the only reason why she let Maxine do this. Makeup was easy but Carly barely wore it. Maxine could probably talk her into a lot of things. “Thank you for that.” Carly grinned, looking up at her. Of course she noticed the blush. “How about we go out? Don’t want your hard work going to waste. We could go to the movies, make out in the back row.”

Max told herself that this would be okay for now. She had to figure stuff out and she had to become comfortable with herself and all these feelings but… she liked Carly, she did, and she wanted to see what was up. “Yeah, you can say that again.” She made a face, having another little drink before she put her glass down on the side. She’d be glad to say goodbye to the whole year but would the next be any better? When Carly leaned in, Max didn’t hesitate in kissing her back, telling herself not to stress so much.

Carly liked her..a lot actually. Even if she wasn’t sure if she would admit that until Maxine was ready. But the feelings were clearly there. “But at least it is over, right?” She questioned, before leaning in to kiss her. Placing her hand onto her cheek, she deepened the kiss between them before pulling the younger girl into her lap.

Maxine shrugged. She hadn’t really thought of that but at the moment she wasn’t sure she could commit to any level of whatever was going on. Not after Rachel and not after her thing with Rochelle either, and her weird jealousy with Bethany. “I guess… seeing other people is fine.” At least for now… right? It seemed like the logical thing to say anyway. Maxine needed to figure herself and everything else out. She took a sip of her Cosmopolitan and looked up at Carly, watching the other. “So it is.” She chuckled a little, having another drink and glancing towards the clock. “I actually almost forgot.”

Carly wasn’t even sure if she wanted to commit, she just needed to know where Maxine’s headspace was at. “Okay, so we both can see other people.” That would be fine for now. So Carly didn’t mind at all. Carly finished up her drink before moving over to the redhead. “Well this year has been a major roller coaster and shit show.” When the bells started to go, that was when Carly leaned in and brushed her lips against Maxine’s. Kissing the other woman deeply.

Maxine wasn’t really sure what she was going to say, she was sort of just winging it. Things were so confusing, starting with Rachel and ending with Carly, in the middle being Imogen and Carolina and God knows what else. “Um, sure, I’ll have whatever you’re having.” She said, watching her. “Okay, uh. So I’ll just jump in… I’m not looking for something serious.” She stated, folding her arms. She knew that she wasn’t even fully comfortable with herself and she needed to figure things out before even considering serious - plus she was way too young to care. “But, I mean.. we can totally keep hanging out… if you want to.”

Carly got herself a whiskey and Maxine a Cosmopolitan, handing the drink over to her. Listening to the redhead, she nodded her head a little bit. “Okay, nothing serious. Got it. But the other question I have is this like an open relationship or will you get upset if I see someone else?” Not that she was right now seeing anyone else but Maxine. But she wanted to make sure of what Maxine wanted because it seemed like the other woman had been put through the ringer or some shit like that. “And yeah, I totally do want to continue to hang out.” She glanced at the clock for a moment. “I mean it’s almost the New Year.”

“I just, uh… figured… we could finish that talk.” She shrugged. “You know, the… the one on the Ferris wheel.” She’d kind of blocked the whole thing but Maxine had tried to tell herself that she needed to try and stop being so resistant to who she was. It was just so, so difficult. “If you wanted to.”

Carly nodded her head. “Sure, come on in.” She moved aside to let the redhead in. Surprised that she even wanted to talk but she was fine with it because it she wanted to finish that conversation. “Get you anything to drink?” She questioned, closing the door behind her.

“And what exactly is it you want to talk about?” Maxine wondered, though she knew she still had a wall up. She couldn’t quite help it.

“You’ll see when we get up there.” Carly pointed out, sitting back. When the ferris wheel went around, it stopped at the top. “I want to talk about us and see if you wanted to hook up again.”

Carly told the guy to make sure they were the ones that stopped at the top. Getting onto the ride with her, she glanced over at Maxine for a moment. “See complete privacy. Gives a chance to talk.”

Max was a little taken aback by the fact that she was suddenly right there in front of her face. She did her best to act natural, normal, perfectly together. She wasn’t expecting the question so it did give her pause. She looked back at Carly and shrugged. “What for?” Still, she kind of hated that she was being prickly because when she thought about it, yes, she wanted to be around Carly longer than a few random, awkward seconds in passing.

Maybe for once, Carly should just be up front but she strongly doubted that was going to happen. Looking over at her still, she smiled a little bit. “Why not? I mean it’s better then just hanging around here. But it’s totally your call princess.” Even if she did want to be around Maxine, she still had to keep her appearances.
