A note before you wander in.
I’m Carmi Cason — a Nouveau Victorian author. I write about conscience and consequence, about the ways love and duty hold each other in tension. My stories borrow the moral realism of Austen and Dickens, the psychological unease of Highsmith, and that fragile thread of hope you find in L’Engle or Tolkien.
I believe gentleness is an intentional strength, and valor is born in ordinary people who choose to do what is right.
You’ll find excerpts from my current novel (Only the Truth Betrays), bits of dialogue that won’t leave me alone, and the occasional reflection on honor, mercy, or whatever virtue I’m wrestling with that week.
If you’re drawn to moral suspense, quiet heroism, and the stubborn light that survives the dark — you’re in the right place.
