We Did It!
What a rollercoaster. The highest highs and the lowest lows.
Team Sea to See crossed the Race Across America finish line after 7 days, 15 hours, and 3 minutes of riding. Our average pace including stops was 16.77mph and our average moving speed was 19.1mph, which I think sounds totally insane. I had no idea we would ride so fast.

RAAM 2018- Saturday through Monday
We left Oceanside at 12:18PM on Saturday, June 16th. Right now, it is 4:48PM on Monday, June 19th. Team Sea to See has crossed through California, Arizona, and part of Utah. We’re now riding though Colorado.
Last I checked, we had covered 850 miles. However, I just woke up from a nap in the RV, so it’s probably closer to 900 miles at this point.

As you might imagine, I couldn't make it more than two steps at this afternoon's bike race without people stopping to say hello to Peanut and Cashew. Peanut walked most of the time, but when I put the backpack (which I brought for Cashew) down to cheer for James, he crawled in and fell asleep! I felt bad waking him up, so I carried him to the car. Also, a random cyclist recognized my @fatduckcycles hat because his best friend lives in Perth! What a small world. Exactly one year ago, @spencerjamesa and I visited Charlotte together for the first time. The trip wasn't even planned- we were forced to meet in Charlotte in order to spend New Year's Eve together due to a bunch of flight cancellations. When this memory popped up on my Facebook feed this morning, I was floored. James took this photo of me running on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway I just happen to be directly across from the town home that we would purchase a few months later. When we went for this run, we had NO idea that we would purchase a home together. Talk about foreshadowing! This has been a year full of many, many changes. I couldn't be happier with our decision to move to Charlotte and I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store! (at Little Sugar Creek Greenway)

I attempted a couple of workouts after taking a week off post-IMWA. I quickly (but probably not quickly enough), realized that I needed some more time to recover after traveling half way around the world to guide an Ironman. My goals for 2017 include listening to my body more and being a little kinder to myself. I hope my friends will all do the same! I'm relying on @peanutthecavalier and @spencerjamesa to hold me accountable. Peanut is already doing a bang-up job of helping me chill out. ❤️
@spencerjamesa banned me from the garage for a few days. Little did I know, he was building up a 1988 @specialized_bikes Sirrus for my birthday present! I will enjoy riding this bike more than any other, because it built with so much love. James, I am the luckiest person on the planet. Thank you for being my best friend, partner, and cheerleader.
