The Gospel release- "Beyond"- is now LIVE! Available on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/caroline-ferrante/1097327013 Thanks to Austin Bello for producing this project, and seeing a gospel EP in my future. These songs are my love songs to the universe, to my divided nation, to those I disagree with- there is something beyond all this...
In the Hampstead Studio rehearsing for @takomaporch Check our our acoustic sound on “Old John Deere” & help us find a name for John’s bass. I like “Count Bassie” #namethatbass http://ow.ly/uk9730jVYu3

Took a six mile hike along the C&O. Then this happened.
I founded Songwriters Against Sexual Assault in 2014. SASA is a community of songwriters who embrace our opportunity to bring change and healing through music. We advocate on behalf of gender, race, equality, and intersectional human rights issues- to challenge the foundations of Rape Culture and amplify marginalized voices. If you are a DC/Baltimore area songwriter with topical songs to share, please email me ([email protected]) with your song links (video preferred). In 2017 we asked college students at our Brighter Day Workshops “why is sexual assault an epidemic in the United States” Here are student answers from campuses across the metro DC area... in their own words #saam2018 #songwritersagainstsexualassault #saam @nvrdc
Our podcast is trending! Listeners up 26600% ❤️We started the Americana Radio Show to celebrate the diversity & immigrant influences that are the foundational roots of American Roots music. Thanks for listening! ow.ly/1VaR30jKu29 #podcast #trending #rootsofrootsmusic
Americana Radio Show #9 Homegrown & Corn-Fed
I used to teach 7 fitness & dance classes a day. I was a size 4. I was always starving. I always felt I was fat. Men I dated and students in my classes told me I was fat. I was dancing to keep my kids fed- to survive. I was terrified of homelessness. I was exhausted and in pain every day. The damage of 5 years of overtraining put me in the hospital with a life-threatening MRSA infection 5 years ago. Today I dance again- with 36 gorgeous young women. I smile and laugh. I am balanced. I am healthy. I eat well. I know I will survive. And at size 14 I’m more confident than when I was a size 4. If anyone out there has been told you are too old, too big, too fat. If you think it’s too late...Don’t give up. We are in this together❤️❤️❤️ #hope #tooold #toofat#toobig #dontgiveup
Thanks so much @firefliespod for the video from @thisismybrave at ADAA! I wrote this song to celebrate the courage of survivors who speak out out sexual assault- especially through the haze of PTSD #saam #30daysofsaam #yourenotalone @songwritersagainstsa
Meeting Leni Stern was a game changer for me. She has been named Gibson's Best Female Guitarist 5 years- and her liltling German accent reminds me of my German ancestors. This woman is one of my heroes. Last year we happened to be playing the same night at Silvana, Harlem.
She opened my eyes to the African origins of the blues. Her songs on the NGoni (the Banjo's African Grandfather) as beguiling- and her tunes weave beautiful connections between what we term "World Music" and "Americana"- which is really an evolution or amalgam of African music.
We start with a jam on my song "Flowers", with Leni on guitar and backing vocals. Next you'll hear her original "Show me your Face" with my backing vocals.
This month we also feature the music of Mark Rogers- who is just releasing his EP "Rearranged". One to watch!
Here's the playlist:
Flowers- Caroline Ferrante
Show me Your Face- Leni Stern
Great Big Beautiful World- Caroline Ferrante
Like a Thief- Leni Stern
Right Here- Mark Rogers
Better Angels- Caroline Ferrante
Slow Parade- Mark Rogers
Wade in the Water (trad)- Caroline Ferrante & Leni Stern
Symphony- Caroline Ferrante
Jimmie Cone- Caroline Ferrante
