Americana duo The Imaginaries – husband-and-wife team Maggie McClure and Shane Henry – release their sophomore album Fever today, a 12-song collection recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with 1st and 2nd generation members of the legendary Swampers. Supported in part by the Shoals Music Makers Incentive Program, which invests in artists recording in the Shoals and carrying forward its storied legacy, the album blends gritty blues-rock, soaring pop-Americana, and heartfelt balladry. Guest collaborations include “Whole Lotta Livin’” featuring Vince Gill on guitar, “Crossroads” featuring Joe Bonamassa, and “Wishing Well” featuring Ariel Posen.
The album’s title track arrives with a brand-new music video that embodies the adrenaline and romance woven through the record. Featuring one of Shane’s restored muscle cars, the clip captures the duo on the move – living the roving lifestyle that inspired the song’s Bonnie-and-Clyde-style narrative of love, freedom, and fire.
Fever follows a string of early singles (including “Whole Lotta Livin’” and “Crossroads”) that offered listeners a first glimpse into the album’s emotional range. “Little by Little,” praised for its uplifting message and harmony-rich roots-pop sound, helped set the stage with a message of perseverance. “Constant,” written by Maggie as a love letter to Shane, offered an intimate moment of comfort and devotion. Together with “Wishing Well,” which recently climbed to #3 on CDX TRACtion’s Triple A Surging & Emerging chart, these songs built momentum, carrying the duo into release day with their strongest wave of attention to date. Fever is currently available on CD and LP from your local independent retailer, Amazon.com, and other select stores. Signed copies can be ordered at imaginariesband.com.
Beyond their album, The Imaginaries’ music continues to reach audiences through film and television. Their cover of Frankie Valli’s “My Eyes Adored You,” performed on camera in the Dennis Quaid biopic Reagan, will appear on the film’s official soundtrack - REAGAN: Original Soundtrack Album (out August 29th via Curb Records) alongside Bob Dylan, Clint Black, MORIAH & more. Maggie also co-wrote and sings the end credit song “Learn to Let Go” for the upcoming feature Everything to Me, in theaters September 5th, with Maggie having written the song with the film’s composer Stephanie Economou and artist Chloe Caroline. “Learn to Let Go” will be on the film’s soundtrack, out this fall via Lakeshore Records. The duo’s songs have also appeared in projects including Netflix’s Mending the Line and the forthcoming film The One, in which they perform on screen.
Oklahoma natives Maggie and Shane met when she opened for him at a show in their hometown. They fell in love, married, and moved to Los Angeles before eventually returning to their roots and establishing Muscle Shoals as their creative base. Along the way, they’ve amassed over 75+ sync placements, written/produced songs for and starred in feature films (A Cowgirl’s Song), shared stages with Judy Collins, John Waite, and Sixpence None the Richer, and launched creative ventures beyond the stage – Maggie as a music supervisor and Shane as co-founder of boutique pedal company Westerlund Audio.
To celebrate the release of Fever, The Imaginaries take the stage tonight at Los Angeles’ Hotel Café for a special album release show. They’ll follow it up with a hometown celebration at Oklahoma City’s Beam Live on September 5th – a highlight stop on their ongoing Wheels to the Pavement Tour, which also includes a return to Muscle Shoals with a show at Champy’s on September 13, appearances at Americanafest in Nashville (September 9–10), and 25+ additional dates nationwide before a European run in 2026.

Had the radest day in Cotia, São Paulo, Brazil yesterday! @grassrootsbrasil invited me to paint a mural at @haribowlgv , a lil fun bowl (perfect size for my limited skill level) in a rootsy villa that had a couple of vegetarian restaurants (something I've had a hard time finding on this trip) like @serafimnaturalmente . I was honoured to be joined in the jam by local painter friends @sapiens_questione and @highraff and had a blast painting the wall while taking skate breaks. Then my old friend Nilton Neves @skateeterno joined in the fun too playing some vinyl. He's a legendary pro skater who now is host of a local travel/skate tv show, stoked for him!! Happy to donate this piece to such a lovely good vibes community. Will share better pics of the finished production soon enough! #haribowl #saopaulo #brazil #skatesesh #spraypaint #mural #sapiens #highraff #niltonneves #rootsrock #community #vegetarianfood #granjaviana (at Granja Vianna)
