Jade let out a long breath, inhaling and taking her time to calm down. She sat down, looking down at their hands. Her hand fit perfectly in his and she couldn’t help but smile. He always knew what to say to make her feel better. “I love you,” she responded, tracing her thumb on his wrist. She let go of his hand, bringing her purse in between them and pulled out a bag of lentils and held them up. “Our baby is the size of a lentil this week,” she said with a nervous smile and bit on her bottom lip. “I-I’m pregnant, Julian,” she said to clarify what was going on. While he was a smart man, he could miss cues. She didn’t know what he was going to say but she trusted Julian enough to know it would all be okay. “I found out earlier.”

aspen had been having the discussion she hated most with Gemma the past couple of days. Someway, somehow, she convinced her it was a good thing to being open to seeing him again. But, Gemma didn’t understand. Aspen hadn’t hurt like she had when Carlos left suddenly. It was the biggest heartache of her life the way he left her in the dark. Her hands were clammy, she felt queasy and regretted it as she parked outside of the clubhouse. Walking inside, she followed the directions and walked into the empty room besides him sitting there. Hearing his voice again made her feel still. “Hey love?” She said back to him, unleashing her anger. “What the hell is wrong with you? What do you think this is? You fucked up fucking asshole!”

She stared into his eyes, shaking her thoughts and grabbed her stitching materials. “Deep breath on one,” she said inserting the first stitching pattern. “I don’t go on dates with patients, McCann,” she finally responded. “I go on dates with people who make an effort,” she said in between stitches. “I mean, honestly, think about it. Imagine if I went on a date with every Joe Shmoe who asks me just like you did. Where’s the fun? Where’s the creativity?” Raquel ranted with her sharp objects in her hands. Luckily, I designed the chef’s wife’s wedding dress and I don’t have to be on the waiting list for months to get inside,” she admitted her perks and winked at him. She walked up to the luxurious building and immediately was recognized by the staff, seating her at her favorite table under the chandelier. “What about you? What have you been doing in New York recently?” She asked, handing him his menu.

Watching him storm over to her, she stepped in front of her team and shook her head. She wagged her finger for him to follow her into an empty ER room and slammed the door closed. “Excuse you. Did you forget who’s in charge here? You have no business coming into my ER and directing a show out here. You don’t know anything about how the ER works, Mason. Do us all a favor and stick to your side of the hospital, please. I don’t have time for your bullshit and getting me in trouble. The second I was reaching for my pager, you came in trying to save the day. No way, de Solano, choose your own battles.” She said to him with pure annoyance in her voice and her energy indicated her anger towards Mason right now. “That was a low one. Congrats on calling your father for a stab wound. Don’t you have better things to do? Be narcissistic somewhere else?” She said, stopping herself from continuing. She shook her head and headed towards the door. “And yeah, go ahead and take me off your case now. I’m sure you’ll get me blacklisted from other cases since I actually have the balls to confront you.”
