Nice ride up the hill today. It’s the most workout we’ve had in a while

Rode out to the lake yesterday. It’s the farthest Apollo has gone in a while and he did really well! We were on the road for a lot of it and it was super windy but he just settled in and walked along!

Hopefully going to have more time for stuff like this soon.

Man I’m still not used to living in a city. I was ready to leave for my appointment and hour and a half before it was scheduled. It took me ten minutes to walk there.

Her face gets super fluffy in the winter and she hates having it brushed out but she’s a very good girl about it.

Since I technically work in the maintenance department at my new job, the maintenance manager keeps giving me things that everyone else in the department gets. So far I have been gifted a pair of gloves, safety glasses, and my own tiny toolkit. I think he’s worried I’ll feel left out, which is very sweet and endearing but I literally work at a desk. Like sir, thank you, but what am I going to do with a set of twenty screwdriver heads?

It only took most of a year but look who eats out of my hand now!

my niche dream job is jousters assistant. I do not want to be the star of the show, I just want to groom and tack up the horses for the joust, take lots of photos for social media, and run ren faire errands for My Knight while dressed up as like, an elf or something.

I've actually done this before! It's as exactly as cool and fun as it sounds lol. In my jousting troupe you start off as a squire/assistant for your first few years then work your way up to jousting at the shows after practicing at home

Sometimes I think maybe I don’t have adhd and then sometimes I wake up from a dead sleep at 6am with the burning desire to draw architectural plans and spend the next hour and a half fixated on doing just that before realizing I’m late for work.

Felt like I should update this. I was in a pretty bad mood when I posted this because Apollo broke my finger (not when he did this, it was later that evening). When I went back out to work with him tonight I hadn’t realized how much of that anger I was carrying with me. Obviously he noticed and I had to take a few minutes to gather myself before getting to work.

And you know what, he did amazingly well. There are always going to be bad days with horse training, and it’s easy and totally natural to get frustrated. But there will be good days too. I don’t really have a point, I’m just trying to balance things out with some positivity I guess.

Barrel racers be like ‘this horse does a cute lil head shake before she runs!’ Well yes she’s shaking because shes got a bollox gag bit with a poorly fitted nose band and it both hurts and confuses the shit out of her. Lol.

An unfairly cruel gag/noseband combo that includes a tie down just to extra confuse the poor mare because god forbid we take the time to train properly and remove stress from our horses performance careers when ‘kick and whip so horse go fast’ and ‘yank nose into shoulder so bend’ works so well. TikTok barrel racers know so little about horse behavior they think Sis’ pre-run ‘little head toss’ is a perky cute show of excitement and not a pain signal from all that bullshit on her face lmao it’s absolutely infuriating.
