āāClearly you donāt know when to stop lookingā¦ā
Turning his head to look at the white haired teen, Cross let out an irritated puff of smoke before taking another long drag of his cigarette. Really, how was he suppose to keep a low profile now? He didnāt have full access to the goings on in HQ anymore, not since faking his death, but he was aware that there was an order out to capture Allen at any cost.
"From what Iāve heard, youāve been busy."
"Iām just trying to figure out if youāre a ghost or not so I can punch you." Allen growled, his eye twitching in anger. "Ya, busy is one way to put it⦠No thanks to you, Master." He spat, turning away from the red-head. Maybe, just maybe, he could actually get some solid answers now⦠Allen thought, rubbing his forehead, as it started to ache lightly.Ā
"Try it brat and I'll kick you through the window."
Eyes watching the young exorcist's movements, Cross let out an irritated noise. Of course the brat wouldn't just let things lie, no, knowing Allen he'd be pressing him for answers in a matter of minutes. "I'm sure you've figured out what happened that night." Pausing for a moment, he let out another slow puff of smoke. "Did you see it..?"
"Uhm, General... is that my shirt?"
"Why the hell would I be wearing your shirt?ā
"I might have borrowed it."
"Well, weāre both around the same height⦠so I suppose itās okay." He mumbled. That was still his favorite shirt though.
"The same height"
It was only then that the red haired general realized that said shirt wasnāt small on him, in fact, it fit him pretty well.Ā
"What the hell did you hit a growth spurt or something?!"
"Iām almost 6ā10"!" He cried, "Iām not done growing yet!"
"I think you are, there's no way in hell a brat like you can still be growing."
"Uhm, General... is that my shirt?"
"Why the hell would I be wearing your shirt?ā

It was only then that the red haired general realized that said shirt wasn't small on him, in fact, it fit him pretty well.Ā
"What the hell did you hit a growth spurt or something?!"
" Everything's going to be okay."
"I hope so. Maria I honestly don't know how much longer I can keep things from Allen. The 14th is already surfacing...shit this wasn't suppose to happen like this." The general shook his head and looked away. He had never planned on getting attached to Allen, and now he was torn between his promise to Neah and helping Allen. "I've screwed this up, haven't I?"

At this Maria shrugged, āCross..we all have our pasts. sometimes we dislike the person we were then sometimes we are content, but as time goes on people change, for better or for worse, and..that, no one is Ā exempted from.ā she offered her point of view.
All she could do was smile, of course the man wasnāt going to believe her, nor did she expect him too. They lived in a world where everyone judges based on the past of others in order to expect their future. She too wasnāt exempt from that judgmental frame of mind either, but maybe it was her feelings for the man that let her overlook some things that she should probably take a second guess before jumping into a relationship with Cross. Looking at him again, she chuckled to herself and sighed āWould you like to hear a story or two, so I can prove my point that people can change?ā she mused, although she really hoped that he would think this is a bluff.Ā
"Only if you really want to tell me. I'm not going to go digging into something if it is going to end up hurting you."Ā
The red head replied quietly. He appreciated the gesture, however he knew that speaking of the past wasn't easy for anyone. Hell he barely did it even with those he trusted completely. Making his way over to one of the couches, he plopped down on it, and quickly lit up a cigarette in an attempt to calm himself some.Ā
"I just want to make sure you know what you're getting into... for more than one reason. It's not just my habits, but my job. Being involved with an exorcist isn't without it's perils...it's part of the reason I've never settled down."

The young witch practically jumped from place to pace in the old, oddly constructed tower as she gathered the needed supplies. Scrolls, spell books, information on the magical creatures of that realm and the realms surrounding it, as well as the usual necessities for travel. It was quite the load, but the young girl was far to distracted by her own excitement.Ā
She and her master, the Great and Feared Wizard Marian, were instructed by the High Council to go on a quest. A most perilous quest, as the dark faerie Adam had appeared in the realms to the East. But as dark and terrible the task might be, the girl couldnāt help but smile. Sheād not been outside the forest surrounding the tower in years, in fact it was so long that she couldnāt remember what the outside world was like.
"Master? Iām finished packing!" The girl called as she hurried down the rickety old steps, only to collide with said wizard as she reached the lower landing.
Cross had been keeping his distance as his young apprentice zoomed around their home, packing and repacking as she went. He knew better than to get in her way when she was like this, besides, he'd most likely end up forgetting something again if he did it himself.Ā
Looking down at the white haired girl that had bumped into him he arched a brow and moved to fix his clothing. "You haven't forgotten anything? Because we're not turning around once we leave, I don't care what you've left behind." The warning was mostly for show, due to fact that he was the one who often lost things not her. But he chose to ignore that fact.

"...I can't believe you really think that."
"Don't get me wrong I am glad to hear it... but I still can't believe it." Maria was truly a unique woman, she thought and acted different from most of the people that Cross had met during his travels, it was what initially drew him to her, but still could she really think this? It seemed unlikely. Bad habits and behaviors didn't just vanish in the night, he was still who he was the day before, despite any feelings he may have for her. Turning over a new leaf...well it wouldn't be easy but it wasn't all-together impossible either.

"Do you want my boot up your ass, brat?"
"Just because you don't see a point in something doesn't mean there isn't one, so I suggest you shut your mouth and do as you're told."

" Uh,..I..donāt know?" sometimes laundry got mixed up.
Giving her a small smile upon feeling her lips on his cheek he replied āIll admit that is much better.ā Taking her hand once more in his he pulled Maria a little closer āYouāre sure about this? I know you canāt have missed what other people say about me, and most of it is true. Iām not the best guy around.ā
Needless to say Maria was happy to see that Cross was smiling a bit, but glanced away when he questioned her. The woman slightly sighed and nodded.ā Si, Iāve heard what people had said and might ofā¦well saw you at some points.ā she admitted, needless to say it shocked her a bit. āBut that was beforeā¦thisā¦ā she softly smiled, āI canāt hold judgment on you what you did prior to this, since well we were just friends then!ā It sounded a lot better in her head.Ā
Eyes widening slightly, Cross remained silent for a long moment. That certainly wasn't the answer he was expecting. "Don't get me wrong I'm happy to hear this...i just don't understand how you can just...disregard my past actions."

For a moment the general was worried that he would in fact have to explain himself, when Mariaās face suddenly flushed red. Smirking he placed a hand on her warm cheek āWhatās this? Youāre face nearly matches my hair Maria.ā He teased.
"O..Of course Iām going to be blushing!" she stuttered a bit, trying to sound serious, which she was of courseā¦but it didnāt sound like it. "You say you found someone ā¦a..and then just stare! Iām not sure if that was uncomfortable or flattering!"
"Well what the hell should I have done?" He asked stubbornly. He wasnāt mad, more embarrassed that she had called him out on his lack of tact. "Its not like you mindā¦right?"
She ad to raise an eyebrow at this question: what should of he done! Every person had a dream of this day, she could of listed at least a handful of things. āItās ok.ā she chuckled a bitā¦ābut this is what we do in Italy.ā the woman mused as she gave him a peck on the cheek.
Giving her a small smile upon feeling her lips on his cheek he replied "Ill admit that is much better." Taking her hand once more in his he pulled Maria a little closer "You're sure about this?
