Personal Demon Slayer. Taking self-care very, very seriously lol
I’ve been more stressed than usual lately, so I need to take better care of myself. Sometimes, going back to basics is best!
Hope you're taking good care of yourself too. What are some of your go-to self-care strategies for dealing with stress?
--
📢 In news, I’m launching a new gift shop! It’s my first time designing a collection of illustrations around a theme of things that bring me comfort in everyday life.
I’ll be adding to the gift shop this month, so check back for new designs!

"Introvert in the City," 2025.
Last week, I spiraled into a bit of despair in my head. A lot of things felt hard. Hope and confidence were low.
Then I stepped outside and was immediately met with throngs of New Yorkers, all bustling around, chattering, and on their way somewhere.
I felt comforted and reassured that there were people all around me who were also carrying on the best that they could.
This was what inspired me to draw this week’s comic. New York City is not an easy place to live, but I still love it here.

Part of Doing Hard Things. A comic about the ups and downs.
This week’s cartoon is a little pep talk I need. (I've needed a lot lately!)
Reminding myself that ups and downs are a part of the process.

Loving Your Demons, Loving Yourself
I just marked 15 years of drawing these little cartoons and taking the leap of sharing them on my blog, right before social media changed the game.
In today's blog post, I’m revisiting an old theme of sitting down to tea with my demons. It’s not easy to love all the parts of yourself.
The depictions of my demons as comically unruly monsters, sitting down to have tea, is funny to me and makes the unpleasant task of facing them more manageable.
Hope you are being extra kind to all the parts of yourself that also deserve a little love.
Thanks for reading and being here.

Words of hope from Jane Goodall
I’ve been in need of pep talks lately and I drew this cartoon tribute to better appreciate Dr. Goodall’s legacy and words of hope for us.
I hope her words bring you some comfort and reassurance as well — that our lives matter, we are connected, and the choices we make matter.

Jane Goodall Tribute
Jane Goodall captivated me as a young person. I was inspired by images and footage of her work in the field, studying primates, when she carried around a notebook and pencil and observed social behaviors in the wild from a distance.
I loved that she strove to understand her surroundings and other animals. That spirit continues to inspire me in how I wish to life my own life: with curiosity, respect, and kindness.
I’m not alone in my admiration and gratitude. Thank you, Dr. Goodall.

If life were easier, it would probably be less interesting 🙂
This week’s comic is about managing overwhelm, one worry at a time.
September was a difficult month with personal setbacks, but I’m taking it step-by-step — which is all I can do. The good news is that I’m making steady progress in other areas. I think the important lesson for me is to not give up.
Thanks for reading and supporting me and my elephant.

A comic for when you feel overwhelmed
The start of a new season has brought some personal setbacks that I am moving through. Life is definitely not getting any easier, but I'm focused on getting through it.
If you're in a similar spot, I wish you strength. May there be relief ahead and plenty of small daily comforts.
I hope you enjoy this elephant comic that brought me some comfort to draw.
I'm going to keep going. Thanks for reading.

This is how I got better. A new comic strip about healing over time.
It's difficult to track the metrics of how we heal from the challenges we face in life. For me, I needed to discover what nourishes me, what inspires me to go on, and a lot of patience with myself.
The seasons are changing again — and I find that I'm doing better. There are still new and old challenges that lay ahead. I don't know what the future holds, but I know it's possible to make progress, little by little, everyday.
