Elisa and Goliath's relationship taking so long to get off the ground is so funny because it comes off as Elisa being into it and Goliath being less so or oblivious
It's an inversion of how it usually is, where, of course the monster dude find the hot lady hot, because the writers are human and they find hot ladies hot without considering a different perspective

I discovered the Gargoyles Style Guide from 1994, and WOW is it a treasure trove of new (to me) and interesting art! At first I thought it would feature more model sheet-type art and animator references, but it's actually focused entirely on merchandising(!!). As a result, the Trio features heavily in it, and it's also incredibly nineties.
If there's any doubt over this last statement, dear reader, I must submit, for your most humble consideration: art of the Trio on skateboards.

I'm dying at this Lex art. He was my favorite when I was a lot closer to this show's target demographic, so I probably would have LOVED to have spied this on a t-shirt or something.

The whole clan! (minus Bronx ;_;) There are. SEVERAL images in this guide that show Lex hanging off of various architectural adornments like some sort of... well. Like some sort of gargoyle XD I'm fascinated by this because it wasn't something any of the writers/artists ever played with in the show proper, for ANY of the clan. But yeah, I suppose it works! His arms must get tired, though...

CUSTOM FONTS!!!!! Also very steeped in 90s grunge. I love that these are specialized enough that in 1994, they were not "computer" fonts. Cut and paste, baby!!!
So yeah, cool stuff, and also kind of a blast from the past! I didn't own (or see) much in the way of Gargoyles merchandise back in the day save for one (1) Burger King toy (which I still have, because I'm a hoarder). Did any of this other stuff actually make it onto products? I'm really curious!
