“Aw, dang it I thought I found boy me. This has been a depressing discovery but I will not give up the fight. Never will I stop searching. In other news it is still great to meet another being of this earth, hey, I was named Zara.”
“Umm, I’m sorry? Um-- Hi, nice to meet you. I’m Caspar,”
“Really.” Elias grinned as the other seemed to puff out more confidently at that. He shook his head when the other spoke, “You couldn’t come on too strong.” Elias replied as he moved to wipe the glue from the other’s brows. His calloused thumb wiping against the other’s skin. “Whatever you’re thinking–you’re probably spot on.”
“I’m thinking...” Caspar trailed off, looking the other boy up and down. “--I’m thinking you’d like to show me to your bedroom,”
Elias couldn’t help it, his free hand dipping down to give the other’s arm a soft squeeze. “I can tell.” Elias grinned, shaking his head. “I don’t think it’s dorky. Um–I have to tell you… I didn’t invite you over to do your makeup. I mean–your face is beautiful, and I’d love too… But I–ah, maybe had some less than pure intentions, too….”
“Really?” He asked, looking down at his arm. He straightened up his back a little, more confident. He didn’t really work out, unless you counted pretending to play laser tag by yourself in the library after hours as ‘exercise’. “You didn’t? I mean, I thought maybe-- but I didn’t want to come on too strong,” He grinned, biting softly on his lower lip.
“You’ve got a great body, though.” Nevertheless, Elias pulled his shirt over his head. “I like your tats.” With a smile Elias began to work on smoothing down the other boy’s brows. “What’s your favorite genre of books?”
“I mean, I workout sometimes,” Caspar mumbled softly, blush appearing on his cheeks again. “Um, this is gonna sound dorky, but I really like comic books. Otherwise, I’m into like, fantasy novels.”
Elias couldn’t help but smile lightly when Caspar smirked–the boy was coy, but he wan’t that coy. “I do, actually–I’ll take mine off too if you’d like.” Elias grinned brightly and reached one of the most necessary things: a glue stick. “First things first, gotta glue your brows down. That’s cool, though. Do you like working with books?”
“I think I’d feel a little less insecure if you did,” He replied, his hands fiddling with the bottom of his shirt before just pulling it off all together. “I love books. I just like reading a lot, so I get discounts at the bookstore and when the library isn’t busy I can just sit there and read.”
“Maybe I am,” Elias said with a wide smile. The walk to Elias apartment hadn’t taken very long, and Elias opened the door to let Caspar inside. It was a simple one bedroom, with a living room, bathroom, and the kitchen. “So, tell me about yourself? Like–what do you do?” Elias left briefly to fetch his makeup kit, but was still listening as he directed Caspar to take a seat at his dining table. “I have a smock if you want one? Shit can get messy. Or you can take your shirt off.” Elias said with a grin.
Caspar followed Elias-- admittedly trailing slightly behind at times to peek at his ass, but could he be blamed? Elias was attractive, and very clearly flirting with him. “Oh, um, I work at a library during the week and a bookstore on the weekends,” He answered with a nod, watching him bring the makeup to the table. “...Do you want me to take my shirt off?” He asked bravely, a smirk appearing on his lips as his tone went from nervous and shy to sultry and flirty.
“Mhm,” Elias murmured, cracking a soft smile as the other was left flustered. “I’ve got experience in fake blood. Please–not pretty enough? That’s just ridiculous, you’re gorgeous. I’d love to paint your face if you’d let me. I won’t take any pictures or anything if you don’t want it to like, be out there. What do you say? Fancy going back to my place? It’s in Little Tokyo… could get ramen after.”
“Oh, you’re just flattering me,” Caspar gushed, pressing one of his palms to his cheek to suppress his blushing. It wasn’t very effective. “Really? I mean, sure, I don’t mind. Ramen sounds good too,” He said, accepting the offer. His masculinity wasn’t very fragile-- he could handle some makeup. Being alone with a hot guy, though, that was a different story.
Elias smiled brightly. “You’re cute.” It was less an observation and more of a statement. “Sure, why not? You can do anything with enough practice. Ever thought of wearing it?”
“I’m-- cute?” Caspar repeated, feeling his cheeks get a little hot. “I uh-- gee, thanks,” He mumbled bashfully, mentally scolding himself for saying gee completely serious. “No, I’ve never worn any makeup. Like, maybe a bit of fake blood on halloween, but I’m definitely not like... pretty enough for normal makeup,”
“Yeah, drag queens.” Elias replied with a smile. “Or crazy clown whores, take your pick. I like to go big, and go crazy. But still very passable in the day time.” He chuckled just a little. “Never too late to learn.”
“I’m gonna pretend like I understood most of that.” Caspar nodded, not sure what he meant by passable and if “crazy clown whores” was some type of joke he didn’t quite understand. “To learn makeup? Oh, no, I don’t have an artists hand at all,”
“Dorky and awkward? That’s me. If you happen to be insanely hyperactive we just might be one in the same.”
“I’m actually the opposite of hyperactive, I’m a bit quiet. Like a docile kitten,”
“Yeah… it’s a feminine job, I guess.” Elias laughed a little as the other spoke. “It’s okay–really. I get what you are saying. Um–well, I mostly turn men into women.But I went to school and did special effects and stuff. I worked on a TV show. I freelance now–so it’s mostly just regular makeup. But I mean, I can do prosthetics and stuff.”
“Ohh.. like... drag... queens?” Caspar asked, not sure what the correct term was but he was pretty positive it was drag queens he was talking about. “That’s really cool, I’ve never even picked up eyeshadow so I know nothing about makeup,”
Sunny looked up as she exited the Starbucks, venti iced coffee in hand. “Don’t look at me like that. All the workers get a drink after they finish their shift. At least I don’t get a trenta like others do!”
“Honestly, I don’t even know what a trenta is, so,”
Elias flashed a soft smile. “What can I say, I like to dig deep. I’ve been…. practicing since I was a teenager, but professionally, for about three years.”
“That’s really cool, I don’t meet a lot of male make up artists. At least, not ones that talk to me long enough to tell me that they do makeup. I mean, not that people don’t talk to me, but like, I just-- I mean maybe I see people who are makeup artist and I just don’t know that they are and-- um-- I’ll just shut up about that, sorry. Uh, do you do like all kinds of make up or like special effects make up or...?”
“I think you are quite pretty, sir.”
“I think better adjectives are dorky and awkward, but that’s fine.”
“Caspar. That’s a very pretty name. It’s nice to meet you,” he grinned, his expression only brightening at the other’s apparent shyness. “Are you from around here? I’m actually a little lost right now.”
“Really, you think so? I get a lot of people who ask me if I’m a friendly ghost.” Caspar said, running a hand through his hair. “Um, yup, I’ve lived here for awhile. Are you trying to get somewhere specific?”
“It is a compliment,” Elias said with a smile. “I’m a makeup artist. You’ve got awesome bone structure.”
“Oh, really? I’ve never heard that one before, honestly,” He said, touching his cheek bone to feel it. “Thanks, man. How long have you been a makeup artist?”
“Your face is fine…like…cute even. Oh, thanks. I wasn’t sure! I’m Regina…by the way!”
“That’s the third time I’ve gotten that today, I wonder what I did differently this morning to be so cute,” He joked. “Nice to meet you, I’m Caspar,”
