He downed the shot soon after. “Oh, God. That’s amazing.” He giggled. “Imagine if he was Steve Jobs, though and you didn’t recognize him! I mean if that had happened when he was alive.” At this point, Jae didn’t think he was making much sense, but he kept talking anyway. “I mean maybe? I like the job, the only thing is my boss kinda hates me. I don’t even know why.” He sighed. “Well, great! When can we start?”

“You gonna move out to LA once you graduate?” Caspar asked, raising his glass to meet Jae’s and then taking a drink. “It would’ve made the top ten fuck list for sure. Every boss I’ve ever had has hated my guts, but I also tend to view my jobs as optional, so I’m not sure I blame them. I’m not sure there’s anything to hate about you, though. Maybe they’re just jealous.” He smiled and gave a little shrug. “As soon as you’ve got a board and a free afternoon. Just text me, do you have my number?”

“I don’t have any of my professors’ numbers,” Andy explained. He was pretty sure that would raise some seriously red flags he didn’t want to wave if he did. He wasn’t that type of guy. He was hardly even the type of guy to hear what just came out of Caspar’s mouth. He truthfully didn’t know how to react let alone what to say. Andy was just glad his eyes didn’t literally pop out of his head after hearing that come out of this stranger’s mouth. He didn’t know what his Halloween plans were but they definitely didn’t consist of that. “Are pirates still a popular Halloween costume?”

“You should work on that,” Caspar shrugged. He noted Andy’s reaction to his comment with a muffled grin: he was never one to hide the kind of person he was, he was very in your face about a lot of things, and friendships live or died because of it. It remained to be seen where Andy stood on that front. “Surprisingly so. There’s always a good handful of shirtless guys walking around in half-assed pirate costumes and I continue to appreciate it year on year.”

River grinned when Caspar pointed out the poor loser getting his face washed in booze. He hooked his arm around Caspar’s shoulder and headed out with him. “We could go find the Carousel food truck. They have carnival-type food, and gigantic fucking corn dogs. That honestly sounds so good right now,” he said, raiding his brows and smirking at Caspar. “I’m not gonna piss off one of your boyfriends by stealing you away, now am I?” he teased, not actually giving a fuck about that.

“Y’know, I still haven’t fucking had a corn dog. It sounds like the absolute pinnacle of terrible American life choices and therefore definitely something I need to experience,” Caspar dragged River out of the party, dodging a couple not-so-subtly fucking outside the door. He laughed and nudged River’s shoulder. “Oh probably, but I guess they’ll just have to accept that someone as gorgeous as myself cannot possibly be kept away from someone as gorgeous as you. Also corn dogs. Mostly the corn dogs.” They headed down the road, Caspar following River now that they were outside. “You ready to take my corn dog virginity?”

Jaehyun called a waiter over and ordered a shot. Didn’t seem right to let Caspar drink alone. “Right now I’m learning how to code and program softwares and even though it’s not something related to my major I’m enjoying it.” He replied, smiling at his friend. “You need to teach me how to surf one of these days. That’s incredibly cool too.”   

Caspar ordered another drink while the waiter was there and threw back what remained of his current one. “What’s your major? I screwed this guy who claimed to be Steve Jobs once, but I googled it the other month and Steve Jobs died nine years ago, so I’m starting to think that’s a little suspect.” He grinned a little at the story, “’bout as close as I’ve ever gotten to software programming. Glad you’re enjoying it. You think it’s something you wanna do full time? If it were I’d say I’d hook you up with Steve Jobs, but-” he laughed and shook his head a bit, “apparently he’s dead, so that’s awkward.” He smiled when Jae mentioned learning to surf, “I definitely do. I’m a great surf coach. I’ll make a pro outta you one way or another.”

Caspar teased him again, and the musician shook his head. “I don’t think so. It’s all or nothing here, babes. I’m all excellence, so that was just a trick question,” he teased. He took a few steps closer until he was in Caspar’s personal space, looking down at him. “Hm. Well, let me give you a proper welcome tonight, then. Can I see your phone?” he asked, holding his hand out and beckoning for Cas’s phone.

Caspar nodded fake-seriously, “oh yes, being hella cute is the one and only reason I’ve made it this far in life. You don’t need qualifications or common sense or y’know, legal documents, as long as you’ve got a pretty smile and a can do attitude.” He grinned at Ash and bit his bottom lip. “All excellence, huh? Well we’ll see about that.” He unlocked his phone and handed it over. “What exactly does a proper welcome entail?”

“You’ll have to tell my professors that,” Andy joked back. He’d have to look more closely at his syllabi but he was fairly certain he had a huge paper due the weekend of Halloween. Andy crinkled his nose. Of all the holidays celebrated here Halloween was one of the few he didn’t see having a “proper” way of being celebrated. “What exactly is the right way to celebrate the holiday then if you can’t be tied down with a significant other?”

“Gimme their numbers and I absolutely will,” Caspar grinned. He shifted his stance a little and settled the costumes back over his shoulder where they had been pre-collision. “Getting fucked by three different people at once, I’d say. Three minimum, doesn’t have to be all at the same time but it is a bonus, and one of them has to be a sexy pirate. That last bit’s just me, though. I like sexy pirates, real or costume.”

I don’t really wear pajamas. Most nights I pass out next to a one night stand, so no pajamas required. If I’m alone I usually just put my Hufflepuff hoodie on. It’s gonna get cold soon, though, so maybe I should invest in some pajama trousers.

sunkissed - autumn or spring?

Seasons are wacked in this part of the world, but I like spring in this hemisphere. It’s warm and makes me feel like life is getting better. Autumn is cold and just reminds me that winter is around the corner.

Ashwin chuckled when the realization lit up Caspar’s face. He nodded as the other detailed the rest of their experience. Ash had indeed given him a piggyback ride from the uneven steps that had caused Caspar to slip, and remembered the awkward hospital visit while they put him in an ankle brace.

“You were stuck here from a wrong flight?! That’s one hell of a story,” he teased. Ash had to laugh when Caspar called him a music god and a sex god, and he rolled his eyes slightly. “How do you know I haven’t lost my touch in bed? Or are you back here cause you wanna find out for yourself, curly?” he asked, lowering his voice a little and taking a few steps closer and raising his brows slightly. “So how long are you in town for, anyway?”

Caspar grinned, “my life is one hell of a story, to be honest. It happens when you mix a world class idiot with world travel. Nothin’ ever quite works out like you think it will. You know that, though.” He ruffled his curls again, thinking back to the time they’d shared in Thailand. Lord knows little had ever worked out for them then. “Maybe you have. It would make sense, sacrifice some of your sex godness for some more music godness. I do think it would be helpful for me to find out, though. Get some hands on experience, just to make sure you haven’t completely lost your sex godness. For science, y’know?” Caspar cocked his head to the side, eyeing Ash with a slight smirk on his lips. “Until I get bored. Couple weeks, maybe a couple of months, probably longer now I know you’re here. Really spices the place up.”
