Everyday, we scroll through our social media accounts, read books and newspapers, or watch shows on the television. We get all sorts of information from doing these. However, I feel like many of us are not aware on how we can get the most out of these media outlets, as well as be critical with our newly-gained knowledge.
This subject has helped me to become more knowledgeable on media and information. I have learned that is is truly a must to be careful when determining, using, and sharing information with others. Especially in this age where one click is all it takes to make a disaster. If we apply the lessons in MIL to real-life situations, we can be more responsible and socially-aware citizens. We can develop solutions to the world's problems if we're able to maximize these media outlets and the knowledge we gain from them. We can influence and empower others by spreading the right information. We can create an environment with lots of new opportunities for learning and knowledge is accessible to all.
Media and information literacy is a skill we must master in the 21st century.
