Blaine: That's... yeah. That is not good. I know how awful that thing can be.

Blaine: We will. I was thinking maybe the new neighbor Kurt could design me something for it. Nothing to take away from Dorsey and Reg, but something fun. I think he's worried about not having a need to design and make clothes when Emma can produce whatever, whenever.

Blaine: We do. It's such a pleasure though. I'm such a sucker for romance and grand gestures. So if you know anyone else that ever needs this kind of help again, I'm your person!

Blaine: Oh my Thank you! He's.... we're..... it's good. Yeah. Good.

Cat: I'm very glad I have no first hand experience of being outed, but it's awful.

Cat: That could be interesting. I was never really interested in fashion, but I bet you'll look great in something that's been made for you. And you can pick exactly the aesthetic you're going for.

Cat: From what I've seen, you're the next person to need something this big...

Cat: I'm glad you're doing well. Finding your soulmate is pretty great.

The Sinkhole || Events

Terrible news, everybody! As you may or may not have heard by now, a sinkhole opened up in the middle of Town Square last night! Well, it was more of the edge of Town Square, really, but that’s how the human saying goes, right? Anyway that’s not the point. The point is, everything is fine! Unless it isn’t, in which case it definitely isn’t Emma that is throwing off the calibrations here, because we’ve already tried that. I’ll get back to you on that one, this is a real pickle of a problem; as they say. 

As a side note, I’d like to welcome @alyssathetherapist​ into the Good Place personally. She showed up here last night, while I was dealing with the sinkhole, and she got me talking and boy is she good! So I asked her to volunteer as an open ear to the neighborhood, to make sure that everyone is doing well in these dark, dark, dark, dark times. So there’s a silver lining, or it might be more appropriate to say a silver rhinestone or sequin.

If you don’t mind, Will, I’d be grateful if you’d answer a few questions I have about this... whole deal. How does something go wrong in paradise? Do you have any sort of idea what could have caused the sinkhole? What caused Emma to go wrong in the first place, and then start flirting with everyone - and has it been permanently fixed?

Sorry, I know you’re probably doing the best you can to fix it all, and spending most of your time working on them, but I’m not sure I feel comfortable with the possibilty of a sinkhole appearing underneath me, and everything else is just confusing.

Not as far as I know! It really surprised me too. Maybe we’re a neighbourhood purely of people who died tragically?

That’s not a great way to go, but you were been dead pretty quickly without pain, right? At least it was rehersal, I guess, and not in front of other people.

Blaine: She doesn't exactly seem....better?

Cat: No. She's not.

Cat: I'm glad it didn't either, but Frannie seems like she'll ignore anything to enjoy her night, and then just sit in the rain later. It's a good trait for her to have.

Cat sighed, running after the other girl. “You don’t have to go. I was clearly pretty unobservant before now, and it’s not like Dorsey mentioned it to me either, it’s not entirely your fault. Do you wanna come back in and sit down? I presume you have your own reasons for what you did, and while I’m not sure if I understand them - and it’s not my place to forgive you if Dorsey hasn’t - you need someone to talk to. And you’re almost family now, and I’m no stranger to dysfunctional family relationships.”

Cat: So, it turns out I did know your mom. I just hadn't ever heard her say her last name, or you nor Reg saying her first name.

Cat: Apparently I'm just really unobservant.

Cat: How's the two of you getting on now?

“Wait, you’re Dorsey’s mom. Huh. I hadn’t realised until now.” Cat’s body position closes off somewhat with the new information.

Taking a deep breath in, Cat decides to try to reassure the other woman that it is naturally difficult, she adds, “I can imagine it’s hard to see your kids grow up. My kids were little when I died, but I still saw Oscar and Riley as babies and they were both five. Seeing them as adults here would be pretty darn weird.”

I’ve been told that once or twice, the harsh thing, I just don’t really believe in sugarcoating much. Like, sure, as a doctor there were times it was required, but in my personal life, nah. Now, I obviously can’t say what it’s like to have left kids behind, the closest thing I can compare that to would be my little brother but I know that’s not even close to the same. 

Nice to meet you, Cat. Juliet Weston. To be blunt, which I’ve also been told that I am a lot, I pity any women who happens to be strictly di– … well that saying won’t be the same here  so in other words, sadly heterosexual. And would saying I hope she shows up soon for you be a good or bad thing to say, because I wouldn’t necessarily wish death upon anyone, or at least anyone who didn’t deserve it.

A little power, but it’s also really amusing to hear.

I mean, it’s not, but missing a sibling sucks within it’s own purpose. We’re in the very odd position where we’re grieving the living, not the dead. We all grieve at different rates, but I’ve always found throwing myself into life - or death, in this case - to be the best way of dealing.

Nice too meet you too, Juliet. A doctor? What sort of doctor were you?

Unfortunately, I am completely homosexual, which isn’t so much a problem on it’s own, it’s just a problem of the lack of other sapphic women around. And you wouldn’t be wishing an early death on her. I don’t know if you’ve been told the time theory called ‘Jeremy bearimy’, but it essentially means time is wobbly up here and doesn’t line up with earth time. My brother died 11 years before me, but only turned up here a few days before.

It’s pretty darn amusing, yes. That was pretty much Blaine’s response too, if you’ve had chance to meet them yet.

She had good taste in general.

I don’t think any of us were ready. I haven’t met anyone yet who just died of old age. I was in my thirties, and my brother was just into his 20s. Do you know what happened to you - what stunt was it?

Cat: That would be good. Their relationship ended up on there before my brother was even out, I'm really hping it won't ruin a surprise.

Cat: It really is! And we'll all enjoy the celebration.

Cat was half way through dance rehersal when she heard a faint knocking on the door, followed by a voice calling her name. Running to the door, she found the other girl standing outside. “Hi, Marley. You’ll have to excuse the slight mess, I was rehersing. Come on in!” Moving away, Cat heads towards the fridge to offer her guest a drink, “I’ve got automatic access to water, lemonade and diet coke, along with the ability to make tea. Anything else I can get pretty easily. Would you like anything?”

Blaine: I know. I'm trying not to focus on it either but I can't help it.

Blaine: That is true. I'm so happy for Reg and Dorsey. And yes, I've met so many wonderful people here. It's quite incredible.

Cat: Well, this has clearly proven you right. A sinkhole? And everything else that's happened? Something here's not right, and I don't know what it is - especially since he's already reset Emma once.

Cat: Emma's definitely still off, though.

Is this place for real? A literal forking eternal paradise. I guess I can dig the Barnum and Bailey vibes for a while. Catch me with that froyo though. It’s not ice cream, but the flavor array almost makes up for it.

As far as any of us can tell. Welcome to the neighbourhood! My name’s Cat.

Froyo’s alright, and there really are a lot of flavours - some of which I didn’t even realise you could have - but I definitely miss actual ice cream. Emma seems to only ever provide froyo when I ask for ice cream, which is frustrating. Not big in the grand scheme of things, but it’s still there. Like the lack of ability to forking swear.

I will give you one tip though, the mixed everyfruit is not great. Far, far too many flavours, many of which clash.

The pet fair’s designed for you to find your soul animal - the architect described it as like a patronus, or a spirit animal. Except without the weird connatations of non-native people claiming to have the last one. There’s normal and mythical animals out there. There was one a bit earlier, which is where I got mine from. She’s called Seraphina, and she’s a chol, which is... a larger, jewish version of the pheonix, and she’s adorable. She’s flying around a bit over there right now, as she doesn’t like flying too close to buildings or people’s heads.

Reg: I feel like I could forkin' cry.

Reg: /I just...He's so perfect Cat. I'm still back here asking myself what the heck gives me the right to think he'd even consider marrying me? He...Oh, fork. Are heart palpitations still a thing? Because I'm pretty sure that's what's happening. You're the best, Caterina. I mean it./

Reg: /That's forking hilarious Cat, I'm sorry. I love that she still married you, though. That's so sweet. I really cannot wait to meet her. Not that I want her to die or anything...You know what I mean./

Reg: Hey uh. Did you get...Uh. A note?

Cat: Aww

Cat: That's sweet.

Cat: /I mean I don't think so, but my heart's definitely beating and it doesn't need to, so maybe it's a weird sort of whatever-you-feel-like-should-happen-happens thing./

Cat: /You're pretty forking cool, Reg, and he sees it too. You care about people with your whole heart and would protect us to death. Or I guess not anymore, but you get the sentiment. You're fun to be around, and you're pretty fantastic at baking, too./

Cat: /Oh, me too. I was mortified, but it was a very 'me' mess up. A ballerina that is ridiculously clumsy when she gets flustered./

Cat: /Oh, I get what you mean. I want her to live a long, happy life, die peacefully and in no pain of old age, and Jerimy Bearimy her way here tomorrow morning. It's getting easier, though. Day by day. Both her and the kids. Still sucks, but I'm moving. Slightly./
