blaise arches an eyebrow,  having watched cat take apart and put back together the pen in silence before finger spinning the one in their own.  finally,  they disassemble theirs,  explaining simply,  “  short answer:  gravity.  ”  they put their pen back together,  going back to writing as they continue,  “  long answer:  the ink flows out from the pen whenever you write with the bearing since it draws ink from the plastic cartridge inside it.  ”

“but... how does it not just spill out?” she asked, staring at her pen, incredulously.

              ‘  they  look  like  one  of  those  things  that  they  show  on  infomercials  late  at  night. ‘  wanda  commented  in  more  of  a  playful  tone  ,  ‘  but  be  careful.  the  last  thing  you  wanna  do  is  take  a  face  dive  in  those  things.  ‘  wanda  couldnt  help  the  warning  ,  it  was  a  natural  thing  for  her.  she  would  hate  for  the  young  girl  to  get  hurt  in  anyway.

“they’re fun! they’re like little baby trampolines for your feet,” cat said as she stopped jumping. “oh, i’ve already fallen, the ground and i are really good friends.”

                    wanda  couldnt  help  but  chuckle  at  the  younger  women  ,  looking  down  at  the  shoes  she  had  on.  ‘  what  are  those?  ive  never  seen  them  before.  ‘  curiosity  getting  the  better  of  herself.  they  reminded  her  of  something  she  probably  seen  once  as  a  kid  on  television.  but  never  in  real  life  so  to  speak. 

“jupiter boots!” she said, jumping and spinning in a circle. “they’re my favorite thing in the whole wide world.”

cat sighed as she stared at the pen in her hand. she’d taken it apart and put it back together several times. but she still just didn’t understand. “...how does the ink come out of pens?” @deservedboth​

“No, shit, really?” He stated sarcastically with a roll of his eyes. The way she emphasized ‘adult’ was as if she didn’t get to use that term too often. “Could have fooled me.” He offered her a forced smile, something he was sure Laurel wouldn’t approve of considering she was just a kid,  “and why do you keep emphasizing the term adult as if you never used it before?” When she mentioned about not having parents, he instantly felt terrible, feeling as if you are disposable to your parents was something he promised himself he’d never let his kids feel . He was determined to be a present father no matter what. “Wow. I am so sorry,” He apologized this time his tone was more sincere, offering her a sympathetic smile. “I crossed a line, that wasn’t cool. I never understood why some people don’t take the responsibility of a parent seriously, having a kid is one of the most rewarding experiences … but you won’t understand anything about that until you’re thirty, got it?” He asked, furrowing his brow in concern, unintentionally trying to father her. 

“i emphasized adult toy because i don’t like the word dildo. the second time i said it, i was saying i am one, i wasn’t emphasizing. you learn about emphasis in middle and high school english. but i guess i can’t expect you to remember that, when did you graduate, like forty years ago?” she asked as she raised an eyebrow. cat crossed her arms over her chest, listening to him apologize. “if you were really sorry, you wouldn’t have brought it up to begin with. you don’t know peoples’ stories. parents are something you never bring up. it’s triggering for a lot of people,” she said. “no can do, i plan on trying for babies if i don’t already have them by the time i’m twenty-five.”

Unable to keep himself from curiously looking at what the girl was inquiring about, Dean turned his head in observation, nearly spitting out his drink when he spotted the screen. He quickly wiped his mouth off and struggled clearing his throat. He tried to hide the fact his face was flushed. “Considering I don’t know what that is, I can’t help you, sweetheart but maybe you should be asking yourself why are you looking at things too mature for you, don’t you have parents?” He questioned, quirking an eyebrow in her direction.

cat sighed, putting her phone in her pocket and crossing her arms over her chest. “it’s an adult toy, i’m just asking why they make some of them sharp,” she said. “um, i’m an adult. my parents decided my brother was more important, so no. i don’t have parents.”

Klaus had to admit, this girl had made him do a double take at that one. Was she that innocent or that clueless? Whatever she was, he felt like need to protect her so he decided that he would. “Well, look at that. I think you and I are going to be the best of friends.” He told her with a smile. “The name’s Klaus, by the way.”

“oh, i like best friends! they’re the best. i have a best friend back home. at least, i think i do...” sometimes she remembered perfectly fine and exact details. then other times, she wasn’t so sure. “my name’s cat. like the animal.”

“you don’t hafta talk slow, my brain’s quick like,” cat said, not quite understanding what he meant when he said it. she busied herself, playing with the end of her hair and gave him a smile. “well, how was your day, zuko?” she asked. her head tilted, looking at him for a moment. “...who’s ridley scott?”

it wasn’t odd for bella to feel like she was speaking to a brick wall, but it was odd to feel it outside of work. the woman in front of her must have been even more sheltered than her. but she nodded. “we could shop for our customs or something!” she offered.

“yeah, i love shopping!” cat said before pausing and tilting her head just slightly, a confused expression taking over her face. “...what’s a custom?”

He must have a pretty big, well, you know what if she is willing to suffer for that amount of time” He muttered before looking over at the smaller red-head. “I don’t mind dancing with you, you are certainly way cuter than her and nicer. I will warn you though, I’m into guys so like, it’ll just be dancing. Hopefully you can keep your hands to yourself.” Klaus teased her with a soft chuckle. She was a cute little thing, reminded him of Dave a little.

“a big what? a big... sword? or... or, truck? guys that have big trucks are usually pretty small on the inside,” she said, shrugging. cat giggled and poked his arm gently. “well i’m into guys too, so we have something in common!”
