Pigmented cyst attached to a Bergmeisterās Papilla on the back of the lens capsule.
Keratoconus, right eye. Patient also has a possible corneal scar, which is that white cloudy spot in front of his iris.
Ooo look whose blurry photo made it to the cover of Ophthalmology next month!
Iris Cyst imaged with a slit lamp camera. The second image gives a better idea of the shape and depth of the cyst.
Posterior Synechiae, OU. A Posterior Synechia is when the iris adheres to the front of the lens capsule. Synechiae can be caused by ocular trauma, iritis or iridocyclitis and may lead to certain types of glaucoma.
Retinal detachment montage and through the pupil. Edited (poorly!) the reflection from the second image just to try to make it clearer to see.
Choroidal Scar in a 13 year old male, left eye. Manually stitched 4 images together to get this picture, so forgive the roughness of the montage!
ICG contrast dye test at about 16 minutes after injection. Shown here is a chorioretinal scar in the fellow eye.
Image of an optic pit(the little hole in the optic nerve head).
Optic pits are congenital, and are typically asymptomatic, though they can be associated with vision loss in the perimetry and from a secondary serous detachment. Source
Patient being treated for malignant choroidal melanoma. Taken on the Optos.
A displaced intraocular lens(IOL). An IOL is an implanted, artificial lens used to replace a natural lens during cataract surgery.
@catseveningclothes does the person/patient feel this? Does the displacement cause discomfort?
The displacement of a PCIOL such as this does not typically cause pain, but it does alter the patientās vision enough that it is noticeable.Ā

Another look at Asteroid Hyalosis in another patient. This time I focused on some of the particulate the best I could. Hopefully to give a better idea of what these patients experience.
Was going to save this for Valentineās Day, but it was just too cute not to share. Slit lamp photo of a conjunctival cyst...shaped like a heart!
Although optic nerve head drusen can look pretty normal from the infrared view, they typically light up white when imaging with auto fluorescence. Optic nerve head drusen are calcified hyaline deposits within the optic nerve head. Although this type of drusen usually causes, at most, mild visual field defects, they can lead to other problems.
Another case of asteroid hyalosis, this time photographed with the slit lamp through the pupil. Asteroid hyalosis is characterized by free-floating calcifications in the vitreous.Ā
Color and Red Free stereo pairs of a macular pucker.
If you donāt have a stereo viewer, try crossing your eyes to see the image!
