Quick note on the kiddos' design origins under cut

I designed and first made art of Phobos and Deimos back in 2021 (I think?), and one of my artworks with them and Ares even got stolen to Pinterest. These are the works.

I had a different blog back then, I think it was takiisieju at the time, then takiisieju-moved, then afraidofrabbits. Some people know me from back when I used the last two, but I don't think anybody here remember me from 2021. And my artstyle did change a bit (like twins look more like children now), but I think you can still see a lot of similarities in coloring if you compare full-render works through the years.

Anyways, bottom line is those are my designs for the twins, I did not steal them. Please never repost them to Pinterest again, I get jumpscared every time-

so it turns out iset/isis echo is actually way more fitting of a choice than i ever realized. echo, as a character, is centered around her adaptability and her ability to copy other heroes. it turns out this matches isis pretty well too! isis was originally identified solely with the pharaoh's throne, before shifting into the dual mother-wife role, then eventually the hellenistic form that spread like crazy through the greco-roman world.

a lot of her symbolism was taken from hathor. in fact, isis's most prominent cult site was hathor's first. she has the horned sun disc crown, which hathor had first. this isn't all though; isis is a goddess of duality. she's both sides of the coin, she's light and dark, she's the queen of both worlds AND both lower and upper egypt, she's everything. her generous associations meant that she would later get connected to practically every greek goddess, though most commonly demeter and aphrodite.

one of her more popular epithets (because of the sheer versatility of her as a divine figure) is "myrionymos" (myriad named).

this is probably a bit more thought than blizzard actually gave to it, but i just thought it was neat!
