“Oh thank goodness. My brother isn’t great with blood, he definitely would have fainted.” Sarah sighed, looking back at her little gang who was still fighting over the teams. “You’d think they’d just shut up and play, but it’s all about the team dynamics I guess.” A giggle escaped her lips just before she bit down on them, not wanting to throw her friends under the bus. “Well, it’s hot out here. I’m getting a little sweaty and we haven’t even played.” She gave a nervous laugh as she realized she’d just told this complete stranger how sweaty she was. “Um, sorry…TMI.”

     Ella just lets out a little laugh at the other’s comment. “Luckily no blood.” She follows the girl’s eyes, noticing the group of people and realising that most of them did look familiar. She nods lightly at her words, a smile on her face. “I suppose making sure you’re on a good team is an important part of the game as well.” There’s a genuine smile on Ella’s faces as she takes the other in, already forgotten about the near incident. “Are you... Les’ sister? I’m sorry- it’s just that you do look familiar. If I’m wrong, I’m really sorry. You must just have one of those faces then.” Letting out an awkward chuckle as she runs her hand through her hair, Ella simply nods. “It’s warm out, but that makes it even better to be out here and play.”

“Duh, no one is gonna think I picked this out myself. I gotta give credit where credit is due.” Annabeth smiled, waving Ella over as she raised her phone up in the air. “Ready? Cheese!” She gave the camera a knowing smirk as she pointed at Ella with her other hand, as if to say ‘Look at this genius!’. Which…you know…true. “Seriously, thanks for helping. I watch one episode of Marie Kondo and I get rid of all my clothes in an attempt to ‘purge’.” The blonde sighed, shaking her head at her own stupidity. Annabeth’s tendency to hyper fixate sometimes of the better of her that way. “What do you think, anything else I should try on?”

     Ella smiled at the other’s comment, her smile only brightening as she looked at the phone and noticed Annabeth pointing to her. It just made her all the happier to notice how excited the blonde was about her discovery. “I really did nothing...” Elle breathed out, her cheeks heating up slightly at the attention. “There’s nothing rid with getting rid clothes... Just next time, maybe leave a few items so you’re not without anything?” The girl chuckled, teasing lightly as her eyes already started wandering the racks of the store they were in. “It depends... do you like to wear dresses? There’s a pretty one that would undoubtedly look amazing on you, but then again everything would look pretty on you.”

           WHEN THE MAN admitted to being kind of clumsy himself ( a trait evelyn unfortunately recognised in herself as well ) the brunette couldn’t help but have her lips curl up ever so slightly. “ i know that, as a woman, i am supposed to be good at multi-tasking… but i’m really not. when it’s work stuff, sure. but this ? no way. i just don’t think i was wired very well for day to day life. “, she admitted with a sigh and a nonchalant shrug of her shoulders. after putting everything away, evie threw the bag over her shoulder again so she could finally take a sip from her coffee. luckily, it was still nicely warm. “ i’m sorry if i held you up, i didn’t mean to bother. “, she apologised as the realisation downed on her that she had just interrupted a random stranger’s day.

     “Oh, exactly the same-” Emmett started, a smile growing on his face. “I am excellent at multi-tasking work, if I may say so myself, but anything aside from that? Yeah... no.” He shakes his head lightly, a chuckle leaving his lips as he basically just makes fun of himself. The man simply waited as the other put away their things, smiling faintly as she took a sip of her drink and quickly following by taking a swig of his own. “No worries, I don’t mind.” There was a polite smile on his face, his voice sincere as he quickly switched hands to hold the cup and holding his free hand out for her. “It’s really no bother at all. I’m Emmett by the way.”

          JACK COULD NOT help but laugh amusedly at the other’s comment. “ i think both. i hardly see myself as a poet – but i have my moments, i guess. “, he snickered, shaking his head as he brought the bottle back up to his lips to take another sip. really, he was just pointing out how it was with absolutely no intentions to be poetic about life. when he was asked about how view, a sigh escaped his lips and he shrugged. he focused on the bottle, which was now spinning around in his fingers. “ i’m not so sure yet – right now, i’m inclined to say a mourning, if i’m being really fucking honest with you. “, he admitted, lips curled up in a smile that barely reached his eyes.

     Emmett nodded at the other’s words, shrugging little as he chuckled at the response. “Most people do have their moments, yes.” He simply smiles, trying to make it clear that he wasn’t here to pry but just a listening ear if they should want to talk. It’s not like he was going to blab to anyone, nor did he really have anyone to blab to yet for that matter. He takes another sip of his drink, once again nodding. “That’s fair.” He responds generally, not even sure what to say. “As long as you keep being honest to yourself about it, you’ll figure a way to deal with it - whatever it is.”

After what seemed to be the longest 10 seconds of her life, Cady let her hand hang limply from her pile of blankets, pathetically taking the glass of water from Ella. “Thank youuuu.” She murmured, trying to drink side ways. No luck…with a groan, Cady pushed herself up and blinked at Ella. “You’re like, the nicest person I’ve ever met, you know?” She murmured, rubbing at her eye with her fist as last night’s make up came off. “Not a lot of people would put up with my pathetic drunk ass.” Cady sighed, hugging her pillow to her chest as she sipped on her water. She still felt like completely shit…no need to make it worse. “Thank you. Seriously.”

     There’s a soft chuckle that escapes Ella’s lips as she watches her friend try to drink sideways, taking a seat again on the bed. She shakes her head as the other speaks. “I’m not doing anything. It’s really nothing..” She smiles compassionately as the other before quickly standing back up to grab some make-wipes she saw lying around earlier and handing them over to the other. “You’re not that bad.” Ella responds, her voice sincere. She’d definitely dealt with worse in the past. Dropping the crackers she took before and putting them on the bed in from of Cady, Ella shrugged. “You don’t have to thank me. I’m just glad you’re doing okay. How are you feeling?”

             WHEN THE GUY took the phone and cup of coffee from her hands – which evelyn had expected to happen quite subconsciously, her eyes already darting over towards her wallet which was still laying on the end of the long counter – the brunette let out a sigh. “ it isn’t. but hubris is one of the biggest human flaws, isn’t it ? always thinking we can do a little bit more. “, she spoke, her voice merely louder than a mumble as she reached for the wallet to put it away safely, only to hold out her hand for her phone so she could put it away as well. “ well, i’m happy to hear i’m not the only one, really. “, evie replied to his confession, now finally looking up to face him and offer him a small smile.

     Emmett couldn’t help but just nod lightly as he hummed in agreement. “True. It’s usually our own ego that gets in the way of ourselves.” He agreed, having far too much experience with that himself. The man simply stood there as he watched the other put away her things, letting out a soft ‘oh’ as she held out her hand, quickly understanding that she was asking for her phone and passing it back to her. He had plenty of experience holding things for Elle in the past, he had basically mastered anticipating others’ needs when it came to these things. “Oh trust me, I’m usually the one to spill coffee on myself trying to do something else at the same time.” He smiled in return before holding out her drink for her again. “I know what it’s like to fail at multi-tasking sometimes.”

            “ a must - watch , really. i’d offer you my personal dvd , but i’m quite attached to it , ” TROY laughed. “ even if you’re not one for sports , it also features the looney tunes , and who doesn’t love some good ol’ bugs bunny ??? ” it really was no wonder that he loved the movie so much as a kid : it’s whole promise was based on his favorite cartoon characters playing his favorite sport with his idol. “ i’m glad to know you aren’t a completely hopeless case. ” his smile became crooked as he continued. “ it’s hard to think of it as a spin - off. i mean , they are literally calling this one ‘ a new legacy. ’ sounds like quite the tagline to just be a silly spin - off … ”

     “Well I appreciate the thought. I’m sure I’ll find it somewhere online or even at the library. I’ll be sure to give it a watch soon.” Emmett simply smiled at the other’s comment, nodding lightly. “I will admit, even I managed to watch The Looney Tunes when I was little, and I loved it. So yeah, definitely extra reason to watch.” He grinned as he could make out how much the movie clearly meant to the other. “I might not have watched many games, but I did read a lot of newspapers and even skimmed the sports section often.” He laughed a little, only half joking about it since he did in fact do that. “I guess it depends of the storyline. It could still qualify as either a sequel or a spin-off.”

     Emmett watched as the bartender took care of his order, quickly glancing at the other man as if to try to analyse him. He always thought of himself as a pretty good judge of character, and this man seemed pretty alright to him. “Well that’s either very poetic or you’ve already got quite a few drinks in, but lets just go with the first one.” Emmett chuckled, trying to lighten the mood a little as he took in the other’s tone. Thanking the bartender as they placed the beer in front of him, Emmett took a big gulp of the drink. “How do you look at it?”

     “I love coming here on nice days, there’s so many people around then.” She smiled, her eyes still on their surroundings. She loved to watch people go about, not to the point where it was weird, but just... observational. Occasionally she even liked to imagine what people’s lives might be like - for her, they were always happy lives. “Digital life can be interesting, but it’s still not better than being out in the fresh air and getting to physically interact with people.” Ella nodded lightly, before shaking her head quickly at the other’s words. “Oh, not at all! I like talking to people. I’m Ella, by the way.” She commented, holding out her hand.

         the moment anna’s chocolate optics danced down to the flowers, a small, happy sort of pout flourished over her lips. she’d never been bought flowers by a friend, this seemed almost too good to be true. to have this night, this moment she’d been working towards for years upon years, and share it with her friends ? it seemed priceless. “ you brought flowers ? you didn’t need to, ells, ” she said, her voice low and soft, brimming with sincerity as she pulled back from ella at last. “ thank you so much. honestly i’m— what the fuck just happened ? everything i worked for, quit uni for, lost friends for… it happened. i’m so happy, like beyond happy. ”

     Ella’s embrace around Anna tightened slightly as the other continued to hug her. She loved hugs to be honest, she didn’t realise how much she’d really missed it over the years when she was practically only around her stepmother and stepsisters... “Of course I did. I should’ve gotten you even prettier ones, frankly.” Ella smiled happily as Anna pointed out the flowers. She unfortunately couldn’t go to a nice flower shop to buy a bouquet, but she thought she didn’t do a bad job at the flower arrangement herself. “You were absolutely amazing, Anna. You glowed on stage. You deserve everything, you worked so hard. I can’t even begin to tell you just how proud I am of all that you’ve already accomplished.”

chino was glad it wasn’t worse than it could have been, considering the girl seemed to be danger prone.  “good, good.  maybe ice it later just in case.  at worse maybe some bruising.”  his hands were still moving her arm a little as he spoke.  though he was no expert, chino figured he’d been bruised and stitched enough to gage a little bruising.  “i kinda figured.  thieves don’t usually get their arms stuck; amateurs do,” he teased, glad to see she was alright.  “yeah, i’m a regular knight in shiny armor or whatever.”  there a sarcastic chuckle that leaves him, knowing in his mind that he is no knight.

     Ella let out an embarrassed breath as he checked her arm. “I’m honestly fine, I promise. The only thing that’s really bruised is my dignity.” She joked a little, trying to emphasize her point. She’d gotten worse injuries over the past few years, enough to know when something was serious or not. This definitely fell in the later category. “Well, I’m happy to say I’m an amateur then.” She chuckled, the thought alone of her possibly actually trying to steal something seeming ridiculous to herself as well. “Well you do keep saving me, so I guess that does make you my knight in shining armor.” She shrugged lightly, a playful smile on her face but there was still gratitude clear in her voice. “So thank you.”

“Hey, hey! It’s okay!” Jesse insisted, watching as tears threatened to spill over Ella’s face. The more she talked about what sounded like a day from Hell, the more Jesse just wanted to wrap her up in a blanket, turn on her favorite Netflix special and give her ice cream. Ella was one of those people, so kind and generous, the thought of her being sad made Jesse want to cry as well. “Hey! Watch what I can do!” He picked up a few apples from his fruit dish and started tossing them up in the air, expertly juggling them for her amusement. “Huh? What do you think?”

     If there was one thing that Ella really didn’t like, it was crying in front of others. She hated to be a bother to anyone else, and so she was trying very hard to suck it all up. But with nowhere to escape to, she was stuck. Jesse had been kind enough to ask her what was wrong and to listen to her, the last thing she needed to do was to bother her with her tears. Closing her eyes for a moment to try to pull herself together, she did her best to give him a smile - though it was a sad attempt. Her eyes open again at his words, only to notice him juggling with the nearest items he could find. The way he focused on his movements was enough for her to let out a genuine laugh as she looked at him fondly. “You certainly have talent. I think you should join the circus.”

“Watch out!” Sarah gasped as the bat flew out of her hand and toward the unsuspecting bystander who definitely did nothing to deserve having a distracted baseball player such as Sarah Jacobs so near to them. “I’m so so sorry, my idiot friend distracted me and god, I hope I didn’t just almost kill you.” She sighed as she ran up to the young woman, gesturing to the boys and Kat behind her. Their usual game turned into all out war as they argued over who was on who’s team. “Are you okay? I didn’t get you, did I?”

     Upon hearing the warning, Ella’s first intention was to jump away and duck - which seemed to be a good reflex as she narrowly avoided getting hit by a flying bat. A yelp left her lips as she did so, her eyes widening lightly as she realised how this could’ve gone very bad had the other not called out to her. “I- it’s okay.” Ella breathed out, the shock of it wearing off she gave the other a timid smile. Her heart was still racing. “I’m fine, no worries. Didn’t get hit. I’m all good.” She quickly plastered on a wide smile, trying to reassure the other. “Not a scratch on me! I’m not sure I’ve seen many baseball games in which the bat was the objected the players needed to catch, however.”

“Okay, damn…this looks seriously good.” Annabeth admitted inspite of herself, twirling around in the new jacket Ella had picked out for her. The soft wool fabric would be wonderful in the upcoming London winter, and while Annabeth was (for all intents and purposes) a native New Yorker, London winters were another thing entirely…”I don’t normally do this, but…this totally calls for a selfie.” Annabeth didn’t normally draw confidence from what she wore, but Ella had been right: sometimes the right outfit could make you walk a little taller. “Get in here with me, dummy!” She insisted, waving the other girl over to get into the shot. 

     Ella smiled happily as Annabeth twirled around, expressing her fondness of her pick. “Ah, I’m glad you like it. It just seemed so perfect for you, I had to see you in it. You look amazing in it!” The blonde truly looked so good in it, but then again, Ella was certain that there were few clothing pieces that wouldn’t suit her. Winters could get really cold in London, so a good jacket or coat was always a good purchase. The moment Annabeth mentioned a selfie, Ella took a step back, wanting to make sure that she wouldn’t get in the way, only to be surprised at the others insistence of joining her. “Me? Are you sure?” She pointed a finger at herself, as if wanting to make sure that she had the right person before slowly walking over. “Oh- okay.”

          TROY let out a heavy sigh, almost out of relief. at least the dude knew of lebron. to some extent. the other man was at least aware enough that he was a basketball player. however, he still seemed otherwise clueless, from troy’s point of view. “ yeah it’s a movie, ” he confirmed with an upturn lip. “ only one of the best movies ever made. a true classic, ” he added as his grin grew. “ a sequel may be nice, sure, but space jam doesn’t really need one … lebron’s great. love the dude, really, but he’s no michael jordan … you know who jordan is, right … ? ”  

     Emmett had never really followed sports, much preferring to use his time to either study or work, but he wasn’t completely clueless about the topic. He knew some things, not a lot, but still enough to get him a decent score during a pub quiz, which basically meant he knew a few fun facts. “A classic, huh? Well I’ll be sure to put it on my list to watch.” Emmett hums, nodding his head. His ever-growing list of movies that he’s yet to watch, and yet to find time for. “Then maybe consider it more as a spin-off rather than a sequel? And yeah, I do know who Michael Jordan is. I’m not a complete idiot when it comes to sports, I promise.”

     Ella looked over to the other surprised as they started talking to her. She hadn’t expected him to, most people simply ignored her. Nodding lightly, a smile grows on her face before turning to look back to the pond. Gosh, she loved coming to the park. “Oh definitely! It’s just so lovely on a day like this, and so much is happening.” There’s an excited tone to her voice as she speaks, before looking back to the other. “There’s many things that are more interesting than Facebook or Instagram, if I’m honest.”

“Ughhhh…I hate this.” Cady groaned, rolling over on her side and held her stomach. She didn’t get sick. Like ever, which was probably why she was such a baby when she did get sick. The red head would whine and moan, begging to be waited upon hand and foot until she got better. No wonder no one wanted to be around her when she was feeling ill. Poor Ella just happened to get wrapped up into all this. “Can you bring me my water? It’s all the way over in the living room…” 

     There’s a smile that almost threatens to grow, but instead her concern still wins out. Sitting by Cady’s side, Ella just gently rubbing the girl’s back as she continues to whine. She didn’t mind being around people who were sick, even being the first to offer to help out when anyone she knows isn’t feeling very well. “You’ll start feeling better soon, I’m sure.” She offers softly, a sympathetic smile on her face. At Cady’s request, Ella just simply nods as she immediately raises to her feet. “Of course, I’ll be right back.” She was quickly out the door, making her way to the living room to grab the bottle her friend spoke off. Making an effort to quickly walk to the kitchen to grab some crackers as well, Ella hurried back over to her sick friend, immediately holding out her arm to offer the water bottle. “Here you go, drink up. Anything else you need?”
