Oh yeah. Gossip travels fast in this building too.
Like hell it does. Dodged a few nasty ones back in my day. People love to talk but they won’t talk straight to your face.”

Jack shrugged with a smile at the postcard comment, “I’m a man from the 50′s born in this era and I hate it. Damn, I miss the leather jackets and the rock n roll. Not this people and their fashion taste. Polka dots and lines, they look like a mime and a clown had a drunk night together” he joked before shaking his head in disapproval, laughing it off. “Jack, it’s a pleasure Larkin.”
She grinned. “Amen to that. I used to know somebody who only wore leather jackets and listened to rock n roll. Seriously, he looked straight outta Grease, slicked back hair and everything.” She snorted at his clown comment, trying to picture that but deciding against it. “Lovely imagery right there. Jack, good name. Been here long, Jack?”
h, wow, you were here for a long while,” she said. “Who has been around here that long? If you don’t mind me asking, I’m sorry. Well, not really. Been here since the very end of April.”
She chuckled. “Yeah, guess so.” She chewed her cheek as she thought. “Bentley, Raven, Rosie, Wyatt, Audrey, and maybe a few others. Those are just the few I’ve either talked to or seen around. April, nice. So you’re used to here by now.”

Yeah, it take a bit to get used to but after a while you kind of just get back into the swing of things. Yeah, it’s Bentley. Welcome back, Larkin. How have you been?
Thanks, Bentley. I’ve been... Well, I’m not gonna lie, things have been kinda shitty. But being back home is great. What about you? How’s your boy?

“Oh, you’ve lived in Lakeview before?” Mia asked. “A lot of people have seemed to have left rather recently, but maybe you’ll still find some familiar ones around.”

“Yeah, lived here for bout a year and then moved out around January.” She shrugged. “I’ve found a few. Not as many as I would’ve liked but at least I have some old friends here. Been here long?”
Since the middle of April
Ah so you know the ins and outs of Lakeview by now then. Takes a bit of getting used to.

Guess a lot of us newbies took their place pretty quick.
That you did. Don’t blame ya though, this place is pretty nice, I’ve gotta admit.

I know that weird feeling a little too well. I had it when I first moved back and still kind of get it every once in a while. A lot of people have left that you might know of, but they were trickling in before a few months ago, but the seemed to maybe stop for a while.
Glad to know I’m not the only one. This’ll definitely take some getting used to.
Speaking of familiar faces, Bentley, right?

“Life is tough, what can I say. But hey, postcards I got a lot and send a lot” he teased with a laugh and a shrug. “That’s called ingratitude but then they’ll show up once again at your door for another cup, but you can give them one with a paper that says, ‘None for the lack of memory, where the hell is my postcard’” he said with a laugh.
Larkin raised her eyebrows, impressed. “Are you tellin’ me I’ve found someone that actually sends postcards? I didn’t think people like you existed anymore.” She snorted, nodding. “I’ll do that next time someone shows up at my door. I’m hospitable but only to a point.”
“Name’s Larkin. Nice to meet you.”
Well, welcome back anyway!
Thanks, good to be back. You’re a new face. How long ya been here?
“When you work at where I did, you’ll be just like me.”
I don’t think I want to work where you did, from the sounds of it.
Out of curiosity, where was it?
jackchevaliermoreno
“So you’ve been here before? That tends to happen everywhere, funny thing is the people say they’ll miss you but once your face is out of the planet, so is the memory.”
“Yeah, lived here for about a year and then decided to jump ship to Europe for a bit.” She cocked her head. “Funny how that works, right? Half those people showed up at my door every other week askin’ for a cup of sugar or some hooch or somethin’, and then not even a postcard? Life is cold.”

They got lucky and left.
Not enjoying your stay here at cozy Lakeview, I see?
Things change, get used to it, love.
Poetic.
Any more golden nuggets of advice, love?
It’s weird bein’ back here, looks like most familiar faces moved out. Huh.

“I can’t believe I almost hooked up with a fucking married man. He should’ve been wearing his stupid wedding ring. God, now I feel like a whore… And frustrated…”
Don’t blame yourself for that rat’s indiscretions, it ain’t your fault the bastard’s a cheat.
