“Eat healthier, work on some issues... is two good for now? I’m not that big on resolutions.”

“Maybe sometime around May. At least, that’s the plan for now. But I’ll be visiting for Spring Break.” She looked at her watch with a worried look. “I better finish packing before I have to leave for today.”

“Thanks for letting me know,” she replied, hugging her friend once again. “I’m gonna miss you. Take bunch of pictures for me if you can, okay?” Mia nodded. “Want any help packing?”

“I’m gonna miss you too. I’ll make sure to take lots of picture for you. If I get away from my new university, I’ll even take photos of Manhattan.” She shook her head. “I think I got it on my own. Thanks for the offer.”

Mia walked over to Holder’s apartment, admittedly curious about what news she had. Was it going to be something exciting, like she was graduating super early? She hoped so. Good news was what she lived for.

“Hey!” She greeted once into the room. Her smile slightly faded when she took in Holder’s nervous appearance. “What’s going on?”

Seeing her smile a bit made her feel even more guilty about what she was going to say. It was definitely not a light decision to make. She had grown to love Chicago and the people she met at Lakeview and the Twin Oaks. 

When her smile fade, she became even more nervous. “Well, you know how I’m only in my university because of my scholarships right? One of them made it possible for me to… well…” She grabbed a envelope with her study abroad info. “It’s no University of London or NYU, but I’m glad to have the opportunity to study in Massachusetts.”

“That’s great!” Mia exclaimed once she heard , smile returning wider as she hugged her friend. “I’m so excited for you! This is gonna be such an awesome opportunity for you to experience and- goodness, I’m so proud of you for getting to do this!”

Well that was one way to put it. She awkwardly returned Mia's hug as she tried to explain further. "But I'm also gonna leave tomorrow to make sure I'm there on time for next semester. I wanna tell you so that you don't get worried about me."

She paced back and forth in front of the door, trying to think of a way to break the news. She had a plane ticket already, but she still didn't know if she should go. After all, Mia barely came back from her trip. Now it was insulting to her to up all and leave like she did before. Twiddling with her sleeves, she gave three solid knocks on the door. "M-mia," she said with her voice studdering. "I have something to tell you." @mia--winters

“That seems like good inspiration if it’s gonna be a book where I need a box of tissues next to me at all times.”

“That’s a lot of moving. If you don’t mind asking, what brought you to Chicago?” She noticed him looking at her but waved it off. “Well that’s the first time I heard someone say that so thank you.”

She nodded along, trying to understand. "Well I hope everything works out for you guys." Holder gave him a confused look when he asked. "Well it's not a normal name. Not a lot of people name their kid that, let alone their daughter."
