ok but unironically: on paw patrol, there's a 'recycling dog' who I think is just a bin man, and it's the only dog described as a 'mongrel'. this dog also apparently does not bathe, which is a running gag. paw patrol denigrates the working class, especially those that fulfil important but undesirable jobs

of course it sounds stupid as fuck, itās supposed to if you make a product seem innocuous like ālittle elf man who watches your kids and reports back to santaā it makes it a lot harder for people to be taken seriously when they call you out like āhey, this toy is pro surveillance state propagandaā because the notion that something so innocent could have such a horrid motive behind it sounds absolutely absurd and most people would just take it as a joke and laugh it off

Iāve been thinking about that mimicking sobbing scene and the movieās overall interpretation of relationships a lot. Like, the first time in the movie we see Dani really sobbing and screaming, Christianās holding her and rubbing her shoulder, but it feels distant and helpless. Like, he wanted to break up with her but now he canāt because sheās just gone through this horrific experience and he canāt leave her in her grief but he also canāt comfort her, so heās just literally going through the motions. Heās still just as emotionally distant holding her as he is talking to her on the phone. Heās just there as an obligation, not because he wants to be. He wonāt let her go because he fears being alone but heās not actually helping her through her griefā¦ he helps as much as having a wall to slump against while crying can. When the girls cup Daniās face as she howls and sobs and they scream with her, itās not mockery, itās mirroring. They donāt know this girl! They have no obligation to her! But theyāre there for her without a second thought! They are literally reflecting and sharing in her pain as they share everything. But is the community in HĆ„rga as codependent as Dani and Christianās relationship, only magnified to these horrifying levels because of a reduced concept of the individual self? Or has Dani found an actual home?

Drogon takes Daenerys back to Essos where the Red Witch resurrects her. Being cured of āTargaryen Madness,ā she stays in Essos ruling over people who love and respect her. Sheās with Daario and Drogon and dragon eggs in a house with a red door and a lemon tree.
The queen lives on. Sheās happy.
People who dislike/hate Daenerys said she would kill Jon when she found out he was a Targaryen. She didnāt. Instead, she saved his life again and asked him later to keep quiet, so that she wouldnāt lose everything that she worked so hard for.Ā Then, when all was lost and Varys turned on her to support Jon instead, she still never harmed Jon.
Characters like Varys kept saying that Daenerys was too strong for Jon, that she would bend him to her will, and that she would never share her power with him. Tyrion said Daenerys would kill Jon for having a stronger claim to the throne than her.
Yet, in her final moments, let it be known that Daenerys Targaryen again proved them wrong, that she never even dreamed of harming Jon, her only family and the man she loved. Instead, she asked him to stand by her side, to be with her, to love her like she loved him, to rule together as equals. Let it be known that all the people who disliked her and the men who gaslighted and turned on her were wrong about that.
Dany forgave many people and gave many second chances. She let you know what the situation was, what the choices were and the consequences. In the end, they couldnāt even give her the same respect. After one short conversation, Jon (and basically everyone) decides she is irredeemable and that, somehow, the only recourse is to murder her. He had more angst over whether to sleep with her than whether murdering her was the right choice. She wasnāt given a choice in any of it. It just infuriates me.
And that, anon, is the biggest crime for me. They're people out there claiming Jon had no other choice, he simply had to kill her. I disagree. Not only because it only took a 3 minute long conversation for him to decide to kill her, but also because according to the script, he didn't kill her because she killed innocents in KL. No, he killed her because Tyrion made him think she'd go after his sisters.
In any case, Dany deserved a real trial and more than a 3 minute chat to defend herself. I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL
