Wear the romper. Eat the cheese. Send the text. Say sorry when sorry is due. Don’t ghost people. When you say goodbye for good, mean it. Don’t drag the thing out selfishly with mushy texts because you aren’t ready to be alone. You can be alone and it won’t kill you. I repeat- you can be alone. Be a respecter of stories you don’t understand. This world is tough and confusing. People need grace to figure stuff out. Stand with them. Ask them questions. Just be a present body in a world grabbing for attention. Accept invitations to art shows and cooking classes. Say yes to Tinder dates. Forget the person who made you feel like you had to have every answer to every problem you’re facing. You are evolving. You are adapting. You, just like the rest of us, are trying as hard as you can. We are all in a club we never talk about. We are all members with badges and stripes of honor. We all have a lifetime membership to this club with no meetings called, “trying the best we can.
