A quick update
So I'm going to start with a little segment called "Why I love Germany." So today, in German class, we had a debate-like-thing-, where three people were affirmative and three people were negative and they had a discussion over a topic after a brief amount of time for preparation. The first topic of discussion was gay marriage. Who's ready for the highlights:
2 guys kissed, then asked "does this make you uncomfortable?"
It was at times a full out duel, these kids got into it
It escalated quickly (someone was accusative of being Hitler, they said we should send all the gays out, and some other thing that I forgot to write down but was equally epic
I have the hardest time remembering things that are told to me in Germany. Like I have a terrible memory for things told to me in English and it just gets seems to get worse when they are said in German. I sadly, couldn't participate in this wonderful display of opinions because my German is lacking in such areas. But I really enjoyed it. It was fun because everyone sat around the debaters and was engaged and asking question. That's why I love Germany. Okay, mom asked me to update my blog so let's see what else I can say. I got to experience this wonderfully amazing thing called Fastnacht. Which is 4ish days of partying. I'm talking full out partying. Also, lots of epic parades. At the big parade in Mainz there must have been at least 5 floats showcasing the NSA Obama spying scandal. What a great way to showcase our lovely country. Oh! we had a School Ski trip in a small town just on the border in Italy. Which was crazy fun. It was also a lot different that any school trip that could have happened in the U.S. I mean besides the fact we shared a beer with the teacher and all. My ski teacher was crazy cool. Plus, he was mostly just mine because the other kids in my ski group didn't actually do a lot of skiing. Sasha, being the exception. Shout out to Sasha, who is in my class, and I'm sure will read this if he finds out I updated my blog. Also, today he gave my candy. Yes, you can buy my friendship with sweets. No, he's really cool. Ummm, be prepared for a photo haul because I have a ton that should have already, but haven't been posted. Also, in a few weeks I am going to Berlin to run a 5k with some friends. It's this really cool thing called the 5 for 5, and we each run a 5k. I am really looking forward to it. Though, I need to start training because as it got colder I stopped running. Also, last thing, over Easter Break I am going to London and I cannot wait. It will be my first time traveling alone. I'm getting so old.
