Emma Train - Plinth and Plaque for ‘Spectacle of Steel’
The plinth that the plaque will sit on has been cut and the plaque textured, now the main bones of the ‘spectacle of steel’ are completed the details can now be created.
Courtney Russell - Cogs for Blood castle
After painting foam cogs bright and attractive colours they are ready to be placed on the set, once the blue and green bricks have been painted to look textured.
Becky Nicholson - Marking out the set
Becky is marking out were her set pieces will need to be placed in Rodolfo’s laboratory. Soon it will be filled with varying set pieces.

Using a combination of chicken wire, hessian, and plaster Kirsty is forming the sides of the cave to emulate naturally formed rock.

Holly Philip - Dessert Parlour
Come in, sit down and relax in the a colourful yet classic dessert parlour. A Victorian styled parlour with added sweetness with candy motifs drizzled on top of the Victorian delight. Modern colours married together with the style and sophistication of the Victorian make a bright and fashionable space for the public to treat themselves in. Holly hopes to make a set model of the parlour room, fully coloured with some of the final designs on display.

Being born and bred in Teesside, Emma is very involved in the local community and is passionate about her home town in Teeside. When the news of the Teesside Steel works shutting down was announced, Emma was devastated at the news and decided to turn her feelings of out rage into an expressive art piece. ‘Spectacle of Steel’ is a celebration of the Teeside Steel industry and the iconic structures it helped create.

Jemma Chisholm - Marking out canvas
Jemma’s work will include a large painted scenic backdrop, it will represent the emotions and distorted perception of someone with Dementia within a care facility. In this picture she is marking out where the frame will go around the canvas.

Put your mind in a spin and test your skills as you try to escape from Blood Castle a place of backwards logic, bewildering colours, and tricky puzzles that will entertain and delight children above the ages of 5. Based around the concept of children’s puzzle books this large set will be the perfect stop off for any children coming to the show.

Jeanette McCaffery - Masquerade
Jeanette will conjure up a visual delight that all should see by taking the rich and sumptuous aesthetic of art nouveau with the venetian mastery of mask making to produce masks for the song ‘Masquerade’ from the critically acclaimed west end show ‘Phantom of the Opera’ from Musical royalty Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Becky Nicholson - City of Masks
Stravaganza: City of Masks which is set in the alternative world of the city of Bellezza, strongly based off renaissance Venice. The set focused on will be Rodolfos laboratory which is described as a mix between a laboratory and library and a workshop where many strange and magical things happen in the name of science. Becky will create a large scale set based around this magical space.
