I watched MK2 yesterday and I can say it was the best movie I've ever seen. Every detail contributes to the quality of the film; the characters' costumes (especially Shao, Sindel, and Kitana) are so realistic that it's a pleasure to see them! My dear Sindel made me laugh a lot in her fight with Sonya.

Johnny and Kano primarily provide the comic relief.

Jade and Kitana provide the emotional core of the film.

Sindel, Shao, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Baraka, Jax, Sonya, Noob Saibot, and Scorpion provide us with fights full of drama and unrestrained violence.

The movie fixed everything that was wrong in its predecessor, and best of all: It's a completely independent film that doesn't use MK1 as a crutch for its story; it presents its own story and sustains it until the end. So you don't need to watch the first one to watch this one (I went with my friend who wasn't a fan and she loved it).

It was also my first time in a movie theater, so it was all magical and special for me. Having this film as my first is something to be proud of, and it looks like we'll have a sequel! Bring on MK3!

And I must admit that Shao Kahn's psychological torture of Sindel and Kitana is so terrifying and agonizing that I felt apprehensive for Kitana in one of the scenes near the end of the film where the three of them are in the throne room "having a family conversation."
