The choice of words are, “You don’t have to”. Because Daryl knows Carol, and he knows that she feels like she has to put these walkers down, and he knows that she will immediately take on this burden herself because it is what she does. Unless someone stops her. So Daryl chooses to tell her that she doesn’t have to, that this is one of the rare times that she doesn’t have to do everything, all on her own. And to further prove this point,

he makes sure she’ll never have to think about those walkers again, let alone have to go through the pain of putting them down. Maybe he hasn’t said it directly (yet), but this conveys that Daryl does know Carol, like she knows him.
