how did you begin building a fandom for your OCs? people seem very intrigued in your work and I’m wondering how you got there. did you post and it happened to blow up? or did you have to keep posting/deleting, trying new things? any tips?
honestly the “fandom” is smaller than it seems, but i’m extremely grateful regardless for the people who enjoy my work!
for me, it kinda happened by chance. my first post that really blew up was when i introduced my characters on tiktok. from there people just got curious about the characters, and it snowballed into more interaction
i don’t usually delete stuff just because it doesn’t do well, but i do sometimes private older posts if they don’t line up with my current storyline anymore. i think that’s normal though, your project evolves, and it’s okay if your page reflects that
the two most important things i’ve learned are these:
just do what excites you! i find people can tell and enjoy when you’re genuinely passionate
building community makes it feel more fun than just “content”. interact with people who have similar interests as you and don’t be afraid to make more friends in the art community!
