Friday nights were usually when Ella would come over to drag Leslie over to the weekly family dinner but thankfully, she had a solid reason not to go. Not that spending time with Celene wasn’t fun, it was just extra nice knowing she would be skipping a fight with her parents for movies and gossip. Leslie grinned when she opened the door and laughed. “This is probably going to be the best wine I’ve ever had in my life. Come on in, birthday girl,” she opened the door a little wider for Celene to step in. “–oh! Betsey, no jumping!” Leslie scolded when the labradoodle came rushing from the couch.

“Probably. It’s older than you.” She commented about the wine when she walked into the other girl’s home. Celene couldn’t help but smile big when Leslie’s dog came over and greeted her as well. “Oh Les, it’s okay. I don’t mind dogs, for obvious reasons,” she joked and reassured her before petting her dog.

With it being Friday night and her birthday tomorrow; Celene got invited over to Leslie’s house for a night in and she gladly accepted. She definitely needed it. Especially with the past few weeks that she’s had. It’s been almost three weeks since she spoke with her brother and it was tearing her apart slowly on the inside still, and she did everything she could to ignore it. Nights like tonight were things that made her forget about everything and she was thankful for that. She knocked on Leslie’s door, and waited for her to answer. When she opened the door, she held up a bottle of wine that she took from her parent’s house - “I brought wine. It’s really old, but lets ignore that fact.” she stated with a laugh.
