Mi cha watched her face and she smiled softly, “well, you will certainly enjoy this years festivities, i promise you that,” she nodded.

She sat up and shifted forward, then went to lay against her wife, head on her shoulder.  “Well..” she said, “I’m with you…  and that’s as good as it gets.”

The fox blushed and smiled down at her. “being with you...makes everything better,” she agreed. she held her there against her, enjoying the warmth, the feel of skin against skin. the comfort that came with being near her wife. “I love you Marie.”

Mi cha got out of the car and went and opened the door for sun. She had noticed the sad look on the young foxes face, and she smiled softly at her. “If I were not….mentally able to handle this responsibility, I wouldn’t have been chosen,” she said then paused. “And I never really had any reason to want to reincarnate in the first place, everyone I care for is a fox, or, I simply didn’t have anyone I cared for….Marie and i…I will find her again in her next reincarnation.” She said as she waited for the fox to get out.

Sun looked up instantly when the door opened, drawing her attention from her running thoughts. She blinked as she tried to process what the other woman was saying, eyes softening at the ultimate ending. The only thing that uplifted the dejected outcome was the hope for Mi cha to find her love again and that was the one thing Sun was latching onto. She took hold of the fox’s hand and gave it a comforting squeeze. “I believe you will.”

Mi  cha smiled down at the fox, “perhaps you will see her reincarnated self as well,” she said as she led her into their home. “well, welcome to our house,” she grinned. waving an arm in as she showed off the three room apartment. the living room and kitchen being the first things seen and it was modestly decorated.

Mi cha chuckled and leaned over to kiss Marie ’s forehead. “After the party, I promise,” she purred before sitting back down and relaxing into the water.

“So, I’m surprised you even want to go, since you just got home, dear.” She smirked though her eyes were closed

“I know, I know,” she said, waving it off.  “But it’s fun to dress up.  Halloween was easily the best part of being home before…. everything else.” As she spoke, her voice grew softer as she remembered home, the friends she’d made in school… her dad.  She should go back.  Sometime.  Just to see how Clarkesville had faired in all this time.

Marie pulled back so she could look down at Mi Cha, lift a hand up and brush her fingers through the hair, her brown eyes locked on hers.  She then pulled her into another kiss, deeper, letting her tongue get into the mix before she pulled back.  “does that answer things for you?” she asked, her voice husky in the other woman’s ear.

Mi cha kissed her back, their tongues swirled against the other for a moment before she pulled back, leaving the fox with a slight frown. Though with her words it quickly ch aged to a smile.

“Yes…yes it does,” she hummed as she moved, taking lead for the next dance.

The fox’s arms took hold of her and began to lead and Marie pulled her wife close, nestling against her and relaxing, letting her eyes close. But as a familiar song came up on the stage, she couldn’t help but crack a smile and stand straight, looking her wife in the eyes. “Mi Cha?” She started, then sang softly, “I will show you the world… Shining, shimmering, splendid. Tell me princess… how did you last let your heart decide?”

Mi cha started to giggle, she didn't know the words to the song, and gave Marie an apologetic look, and mouthed a 'sorry.' But she saw the brightness in her eyes and that brightened the foxes smile.

The human grumbled, frowning slightly with a pout in her lip. “We could always be late,” she muttered. But despite her complaints there was a small upturn in her lip, and excitement at the prospect of the party in her eyes.

Mi cha chuckled and leaned over to kiss Marie 's forehead. "After the party, I promise," she purred before sitting back down and relaxing into the water.

Mi cha looked over, worry on her face. “Are you alright, love?” she asked, sliding down onto the floor and helping marie up, “I can get you something, what do you neeD?” she asked

She groaned as the ache began returning to her side, more so after their… activities. “How about a steaming hot bath to start things off,” she suggested, “and then we can start getting ready for the party.”

Mi cha nodded her head, and helped Marie onto the couch before headed off to their room and getting the tub filled. once done she returned to her wife’s side and picked her up. 

“the party is tonight?” she asked, a bit shocked. “my goodness where did the time go?” she asked. as she walked to the bathroom and eased them both inside of the water. not to hot, but hot enough.

As she was lowered into the pool, steaming water rose up her black and blue side and she hissed with a kind of painful relief, her eyes squeezed tight until she was resting on the tub floor.

Marie looked up, and extended her arms out to wrap them around Mi Cha as she settled in on top of her, her lips capturing the fox’s as their bodies touched. “You really know how to show a girl a comforting time,” she purred softly, eyes twinkling up at her wife, her hand sliding over her belly and teasing the idea of going lower.

Mi cha kissed her back, body tingling at Marie's touch.

"I thought we had a party to get ready for," she hummed, moving from her wife so that she sat across from her in their tub.

“which is good,” she whispered. “because I could never shine without you,” she said, cheesey as it was. she gave her a small squeeze and then moved slightly so that she could capture the human’s lips with hers. 

“you are far too good to me.”

“Oh no,” she replied softly into her lips, her eyes closed as she leaned into her wife, another song starting and she lead her gently, their steps small but assured.  And despite the fact that they were on a crowded dance floor, the only thing that seemed to exist was the woman in Marie’s arms.  “I wouldn’t be here Mi Cha.. not without you.”

she kissed her wife again, grib on her tightening just a bit. “you are a light…that could never be put out,” she said softly. “I am only glad, that you let me bask in it’s glow.” she said as they moved along the dancefloor.

She laughed, raising a hand to wipe her eyes as she shook her head.  “You might be the most wonderfully cheesy woman I’ve ever met,” she said, giggling as she pulled her in close, letting her chin rest atop her head as they continued to dance.

Mi cha grinned, giggling as she was pulled closer. "Well, I am new to all of this...I guess I had or try and be cheesy...just to see how you like it...should I keep doing that?" She asked

the fox chuckled, “well, yes i am a gumiho, not really sure you can or cannot call us angels, celestials that is,” she started. “When a fox becomes a thousand and is pure enough, they can be chose to undertake the right of ascendence,” she explained. “and any fox can do it, we lose our physical forms, and lose our birthright to reincarnate, for more power and the duty of protecting the clan, keeping the peace, and if needed lead our people. every fox leader, is a celestial, and their closest guard? also a celestial.”

she turned onto another street and then soon enough parked her car in a parking spot. “here we are.”

“W-wow… that’s really impressive,” she whispered in awe, leaning in closer but not too much in a way that the woman would get distracted from driving. Sun nodded slowly as she took in the information, reacting here and there at the intriguing details. She paused when the mention of reincarnation came up, frowning at the fact of losing such fortuity after death. The thought of possible love ones passed through her mind as she glanced down at her hands. The thoughts of watching love ones die and not being able to see them ever again after death seemed cruel. Too cruel. 

She glanced up at the woman again, eyes softened at how painful it must be for her to imagine the future. Before she had the chance to speak, the car stopped to park. She blinked and looked around in surprise. “Ah, right, okay.”

Mi cha got out of the car and went and opened the door for sun. She had noticed the sad look on the young foxes face, and she smiled softly at her. “I….can control all of them, the elements, it’s part of being a celestial, however…My birth element was wind,” she answered with a soft smile. “never staying in one place, flexible…” she drifted off. “I enjoy using my natural element as well.” she added as she turned onto another street.

“All of them?” She gawked, eyes wide. “That’s… amazing. Celestial… that’s like heaven related, right? So you’re like… an angel?” Scratching the back of her neck, she turned to the side with her brows furrowed. “Wait, but you’re a Gumiho… so not an angel.”

Mi Cha’s eyes lit up at the mention of going to the adoption clinic. “Yes, oh, you’d be a wonderful mother,” she sang, pressing into the kiss, this was….it was everything she thought she’d never really have. being swept away by the emotion, the excitement, and she pushed it all into her kiss, wrapping arms and tails around the woman. 

“this is…nothing can ruin this.” she breathed

Marie nestled into the fox, sighing softly as the tails enveloped her in their warmth and tonight she knew she wanted to sleep amongst fur, Mi Cha curled around her. She smiled at the thought, eyes closing and small tears of joy leaking down her cheeks. “There is no one I would ever trust more to adopt a child with. I’m your light, Mi Cha, whenever you need it.”

the fox giggled, and continued her attack on her wife. “Oh?! well, have you forgotten little human, about the many tails of the stars?” she asked as she had her tail come down and tickled her as well. she did her best, but eventually marie overpowered her and she couldn’t stop laughing.

The human fought through the assault of tails and hands but by the time she had pushed her into her back, Marie was laughing so hard that she tumbled off Mi Cha and onto the floor below, giving a small grown as she landed on her bruised side.

“Ow…” She managed, her giggles subsiding quickly.

Mi Cha blinked, did…did she mean it? that she’d put herself in a safer position? she knew it was selfish of her. To want to keep marie away from all that, to want her to stop helping the way she herself did. But it was easier for the fox to put her life on the line instead of wondering if Marie would come home in one piece. 

“I want to too, to start a family with you,” she said softly, and with a sudden movement her lips were on the humans.

The kiss was deep and loving and everything Marie needed to convince her that yes, this was the right choice. She wouldn’t be totally out of the field, completely safe. It would be a cold day in hell before she took a desk job. But no more would she fly half way around the world on a moment’s notice, ready to fight a war if need be.

She opened her mouth to the kiss, and then pulled away to laugh, her eyes bright as she picked up the other woman and spun her in the air before setting her back down. “Tomorrow,” she said, in between kisses. “Tomorrow, come with me to the adoption clinic. We’ll start this thing.”

“Wait! Wait Mi Cha, no!” She exclaimed, but it was too late and the fingers were already skittering across her and she tensed up, laughing and trying to hold her wife back. She saw an opening and moved in, pushing past the tickling fingers and wrapping her arms around Mi Cha’s middle, wrestling to push her back.

“I will not be oppressed!” She declared, laughing as she pushed. “I will fight valiantly against the evil star farts that threaten humankind!”

Mi cha laughed taking Marie’s hand and placing her other on her hip. “You give me too much credit,” she said softly as she started to move with the her, to the beat of the music. Thankfully a slow song. One out of few that would be played.

As the music swayed through the crowd, Marie sighed happily and let her forehead nuzzle against Mi Cha’s.  She let her eyes gaze into the other woman’s and… she was lost.  It was like peeking into another universe, the way they seemed to shine back at her, so much knowledge and experience.. and all of it hers.  She reached up the hand that had been at the fox’s waist and cupped her cheek.  “I.. I’m going to get a safer position,” she said softly, not entirely sure what prompted it.  Not sure if it was the right decision… but it felt that way, felt like it was better.  Better to be home with her, to start a family then out fighting all the time.

“I want a family with you, Mi Cha.  And that’s not going to happen if I keep going after Wendigos or covens or.. or whathaveyou.”
