no wonder Stan is so nice to Soos

no wonder Soos is probably the one person Stan’s so open to about his childhood (as it was shown in Dreamscapers)

it’s because they both have/had horrible fathers

it’s the one thing they can bond over that they can’t with anyone else

it’s the one thing they were/are able to talk to each other about and have the other one understand on a higher level than the “I’m so sorry” and “are you okay” kind of stuff they get from other people. (Dipper and Mabel may be the exception in Soos’s case, but still).

It’s why Stan went through so drastic measures to make Soos forget his birthday. It’s why he tried to get it removed from calanders.

It’s why he was so concerned for why Soos didn’t show up for work in Soos and the Real Girl.

It’s because of that one connection they share.

It may not still be why they’re such good friends outside of the normal boss and emloyee relationship now, but there’s a good chance it’s why it started
