Same Sides of a Magnet

Memphis: So I've been thinking about that space meeting AU, and my mind was toying around with an idea.

It's just an what if, because I know Nick's pretty cautious to keep his gloves on, but it'd be pretty interesting if that was ever an incident of him accidentally touching Memphis with his bare hands of death lmao.

I thought, perhaps, since Memphis's body has the power to scatter to smoke-like particles (if things go past the point of simply healing up) and then regroup anew again, it'd be a really interesting effect where his flesh would be pulling away from the decay. Simply put, it's always between the state of touching and not touching as Memphis's form dissipates away from Nick's hand, and Nick's hand might kinda pass through him as if he were a ghost. You know, like magnets of the same 'side' repel each other, they cannot truly touch. Or how a school of fish parts away in front of a shark, hehe.

Nanoflame: Dude- that’d be really interesting to see! Also I never knew about about Mem!! Man musta missed it while reading OTL But damn, if that’s the case I feel like Nick would feel safe? Less on edge maybe? I feel like he’d just be a lot more relaxed with Memphis and not having to worry about witnessing flesh decay to his touch for the nth time.

Nano: I guess he sort of wants to rediscover it because of Drew

Nano: But if there’s somethng he can do to help better their lives, he uses the money he’s saved to help them out

Memphis: If he picks out Aaron's flaws, he's going to find that he's stumbled across an oddball, haha-

It's nice that he's using that money to help...

and It’s not really for the sake of helping for him, but an absent reminder of something he didn’t have for himself i guess?

it was more along the lines the fact that he doesn’t need much moeny to maintain himself, and has all the money piling up, so he figured he’d follow what drew said. “might as well use it for something more productive” and use it on people who probably need it or need a cheering up in their day

Memphis: Aha, a scene just flashed through my head- I suddenly envisioned Aaron staring at the air around Nick in a sort of puzzled way, and he blurts out "The numbers. They've been changed for you." and he doesn't even know why he says that, it was just a gut feeling and reading into nothing.

Memphis: And Nick just goes through a huge, internal WTF.

Memphis: OK so just a speculation here: What IF - after a good amount of time after they've known each other, Aaron suddenly goes missing. Completely, like he got erased off from this world, kicked off the surface of this dimension or some shit. But then years later, when Nick's 28 or so, he spots someone who looks very familiar ---- and who doesn't look a day older than the last time he has been seen.

Memphis: I think the first time they meet, Aaron's the one sitting at the table and Nick's the one that approaches. But at the reunion years later, Nick's the one that's sitting and Aaron's the one that walks in.

Except all's good because Aaron's hooked up his equipment so it's a little like bungee jumping. xD

Not at the fact that this guy can heal though. But at the fact that he thought he was going to have to watch yet another person die in front of him.
