Ditto had been wandering the forest for a while now. None of the plants tried to talk to it. Grass-type Pokemon often hid until they found someone friendly to play with. None of the weeds Ditto pulled were any Oddish either-- or any real food, for that matter. All it could find was funny-looking grass and pretty flowers that it didn't have the heart to eat. It did try munching on one flower's petals, a necessity after its little belly felt empty for way too long. Unfortunately, the petal was very bitter. Ditto spat it out immediately.
It had made its wish so very long ago. The shooting star must've been far out of reach by now. Not a single Pokemon passed Ditto by. Not a single berry fell from the trees. It even tried climbing a few. But they were all devoid of anything even remotely resembling a berry. The leaves weren't edible either; Ditto tried.
All that was left was whatever lay ahead at the clearing on the top of the mountain. The sky had turned a brilliant shade of orange. Ditto worried the sun would set soon. It hadn't found anything to eat today. Maybe it should focus on finding someplace to hide instead.
But how odd. Its wish was certainly to make lots and lots of friends. But there were no friends to be made here.
At least, that was what Ditto had thought, until a voice completely caught it off guard.
In a flash of silvery light, Ditto condensed itself into little more than a tiny purple pebble with beady eyes and a straight mouth. The voice belonged to a pretty human. But Ditto hadn't even sensed the pretty human's presence. Was she just that good at hiding?
Oh no... What if... What if she was a predator? Was Ditto about to get eaten?!
