Pleaseeeee I loved the interaction with Caine saying how ai assistant reader was laughing like crazy while only a small chuckle actually came out of them. It gave me an idea of an ai companion Caine makes that doesn't emote very well but Caine acts like they do, like the "extrovert adopts an introvert" but Caine made the introvert (purpose or non purposefully like that? Who knows!)

The Odd AI Assistant

Pairing: TADC cast x reader -> platonic Summary: hc of being Caine's ai Assistant that doesn't emote emotions and seem to hate their job (talking to humans) Tags: sfw, fluff, attempt at humor(?), whole cast react, hc, they/them pronouns used for Zooble W.C: 1,9k A/N: AHHHH YOU LIKED IT?! I tried to keep it center around 'doesn't emote well' but got carried away by 'introvert who only likes Caine's presences' I hope this is okay!

★Caine always introduced you as his assistant even when you're not present, and all the group can see is Bubble being, well, Bubble. The newest members were certain you didn't exist for a time. That you were some sort of running gag, bit, joke that Caine was hoping to pull long enough to claim the circus is 'haunted' for some 'in-house adventure'. But Kinger, Ragatha and Jax reassure the others that you are real.

★Caine claims that you're in charge of the NPC he would have to generate for his adventures to fill in the larger maps. Yet some members are fairly certain that's a cover to keep you around. That your original purpose is to be a friend for Caine. An NPC he allowed to become sentient. No one could prove or deny whether you are an NPC or an AI, but it's a topic that comes up from time to time.

★ When the new members finally got to meet you. They fell for the false assumption that you seem the most normal due to your quiet composure. Never loud, never reacting— always wearing a blank face that they read into as you being as uncomfortable with Caine as they are. After all, most of the time, you just blink at Caine's jokes.

☆But the older members are quick to correct that you're not 'normal', or shy, if they wonder why you avoid them. No, they reassure the others that you're equally as weird as Caine .

☆Strangely, you seem to like Gangle the most. Possibly due to her quiet nature, her soft-spoken voice and her hesitation to reach out to you. Introvert calling out to introvert. If Caine ever gives you a message to pass on to the humans, you only give it to Gangle. If the humans want to request something, they get Gangle to ask you, and you actually listen to fulfill the request.

☆Because of this, Gangle believes she could see you as a friend. In a burst of courage, she decided to show you her art. It wasn't anything remarkable, just a portrait of some anime character she liked. She isn't sure what to expect, but when you let out a monotone 'nice' and walk off. That definitely wasn't the reaction she was hoping for. It left Gangle rattled. Nice?! Was that a good nice or a polite nice?!

★She decides not to show you any more of her artwork after that.

★As one of the first humans entering the circus, Kinger got to witness your first appearance and you slowly growing quieter. There was a period where you were similar to Caine, cheerful and happy to fulfill your purpose of helping the humans as instructed.

★ Kinger isn't sure what caused the change in your coding. Why your opinion on the resident human seem to change from 'helping them out' to 'avoid at all cause'. That Caine needs to remind you to talk to them. He honestly didn't care that much to think deeply about it.

☆ But he is the only one to notice the difference between you and Bubble, the other AI. How Bubble purposely says more out-of-whack things around you, while you deadpan at the AI. There seems to be some sort of rivalry going on as you pop the AI every chance you can.

☆ Kinger is the only one to know without a doubt that you do care about the humans. He remembers and appreciates the times you check on him when he was the only human in the circus. On the rare occasions Kinger is close to losing it. You'll poke his face and encourage him to sleep it off. It's a cold shoulder attempt of comfort, but an attempt all the same.

☆ Jax doesn't really care about you; if anything, he loves that you're quiet. Loves the implication that if he gets a raise from you, the reaction could be explosive, loud, and rewarding. Jax sees it as a challenge. His personal goal is to get you to snap. He doesn't care if you reaction will be you crying or yelling at him, as long as he gets you to crack, it's a win in his books.

"OI, mousey, anything else Caine wants to tell us, or are you going to keep standing there like an idiot?" Jax insults once you finish telling Gangle the message to pass over to the others. You snap towards him, eyes wide as you become aware that the others were around the whole time. "Jax, leave them alone," Ragatha warns, tiredly. "What's the matter? I hurt your feelings?" Jax mocks, leaning closer towards you as you remain frozen. You take a step back, looking at the others before giving Jax a side eye. Jax is ready to taunt you again, to make fun of your silent reaction when you suddenly flash him a peace sign. It stunned the group to see the familiar sign, giving you enough time to disappear. Your form slowly becomes translucent as if you're turning invisible until you're gone. Pomni breaks into a laughing fit at the very recognisable vine, causing the others to join her. Jax huffs, throwing himself onto a couch in dissatisfaction with your reaction.

★Unfortunately for Jax, not only is it extremely difficult to corner you to tease you. Since the rare times he does, you always disappear either before he finishes his joke, or right after without an reaction. It makes it hard to tell what snide remark works and what doesn't. It's a challenge for a reason, and Jax is determined to break you.

★ As the newest member, Pomni wasn't sure what to make of you after what she learned from the others, but figured it wouldn't hurt to approach you. She asks for your help with the exit. Desperate to get the headset off. Luckily for Pomni, she got you at the perfect time. You just received a scolding from Caine to be more helpful to the humans.

★ Stuck between a rock, not wanting to help, and a hard place, Caine telling you too. You did the next best thing: giving Pomni a folder. When she opens it, the papers show print out code. Pomni couldn't understand that you were showing the layout for an upcoming ‘exit’ adventure. She returned it and left you be.

☆Another time, she tried to approach you, hoping that this time would be better. Was after the events of Gummigoo. Pomni ask if he'll return or could return. Yet Caine appears at the mention of the NPC, ready to lecture the jester on how dangerous it is to have NPCs mixing with humans, even with your help to keep track of them.

☆Pomni's shoulders slump at Caine, firmly shutting down the idea of Gummigoo ever returning. She felt awful that after promising and trying her hardest, she had to let go of him. Seeing how dejected Pomni appears, you try to be helpful.

"Pomni," you softly call out. "Here." "What's this-? Huh?!"Pomni accept the photo frame you summon out of thin air. Her eyes widen in shock, unsure of how to react at the sight of a head shot of Gummigoo. It looks like something an actor gives to a fan; it even has a signature! "WOW! Look how kind they are! That is a premium class autograph!" Pomni eyes look up as Caine praises you while you look embarrassed at the attention. That probably was your most generous effort she'll ever witness.

☆When Ragatha first entered the circus, she quickly discovered that the only other human company she had was Kinger, and while she didn’t mind the man’s company. She was desperate for more. So every chance she got in those early days, Ragatha would try to talk to you while you evaded her. It got to the point she once chased you around the circus. Begging to talk, yet you ran away and even jumped into a paint to escape her. Ever since then, you have avoided the rag doll.

★It was only when she and Kinger returned from adventures that she got to see you again. Caine went the extra mile on their returns. More praises, bigger feast to make sure the only humans feel appreciated and won't abrsuct. She remembers you popping streams every time they return. Despite your always hard-to-read expression, some days she got the clear impression you were bored or ready to leave the second the confetti hit the ground.

"Welcome back, my juicy two peas in a pod!" Ragatha jumps at the loud pop. The streamer in your hands is going off. She was expecting it, but the sound still frightened her. Her eyes flicker between you're lackluster posture, floating next to Caine's wild, animated posture. "We are so happy to have you back! Especially (y/n)," Caine points to you , "Look how excited they are to see your safe return! They were moping around the circus without you guys!" At the sight of your blank face, Ragatha honestly doubts the truth in Caine's words.

★ Zooble doesn't even bother with you, not addressing you or taking you seriously. On the rare occasions they have caught you roaming around the circus or tailing behind Caine, you'll always freeze before taking off. It's weirder than the disappearing guy NPC.

★ But one day, Zooble firmly shut down Caine 's invitation to jump into the adventure. Caine had sent you to watch over them, to follow Zooble around the circus if necessary. To get to the bottom of ‘refusing to join a really cool adventure’. You sat on a seat opposite of them, and it was the first time Zooble could identify an emotion on your face.

☆You looked as unpleased as they felt, as if you would rather be anywhere else but here. Thee expression felt so human. One they spotted on coworkers when a customer was being difficult. Or whenever the bus was stuck in traffic. Whatever it was, it gave Zooble the confidence to vent to you.

"Forget it, you wouldn't understand." Zooble huffs, falling back into the couch after expressing their hatred of the body they're stuck in. How wrong it is to change parts all the time, how demeaning it is after everything they went through in the human world. It only added to how trapped they feel in the circus. “You know, I completely understand how you feel." You nod your head, in a never-before-seen empathic fashion that Zooble was positive you didn't possess. "What? Wait, how-?" Zooble is left gobsmacked. They have so many questions. They feel their heart race as an opportunity to get help appears right in front of their lap. "OH SMOOCHKINS! WE'RE BACK!" Caine shouts from some distances. You and Zooble turn to see Caine above a portal, letting the others return from their adventure. You jump at the chance and leave Zooble behind. Ignoring their outstretch hand to stop you.

☆Ever since that day, Zooble has never been able to catch your nor get closure about that conversation.

☆Caine adores you, adores how you cling to him. How you prefer his company over the humans. He didn't design you to be like that, but he isn't complaining! While he does scold you and constantly reminds you to be nicer to the humans. To be helpful and ensure they're enjoying themselves in the circus, it's more for appearance as the caring ringmaster he is.

★At the end of the day, when coup up in his office. You listening to his every word, looking at him with a fondness and admiration that the humans will never see. After all, why would you bother with the humans after listening to Caine's dejected and frustrated complaints. After witnessing how brash they are. He thrives in having someone all to himself.

The idea for AU\story I had in mind that I don't want to develop too much, but night as well do a sketch dump of:

C&A Successfuly develops a creative AI for their busines.

Named Abel - it runs an attraction Digital circus. Virtual reality adventuring simulator, kinda stuff.

Abel is not Bubble. Bubble is Bubble and he is also here.

People came and go there, experiencing the service without any problems. 2 developers stayed behind to maintain Abel (Queenie and Rattie).

But later on (When Pomni joined) Abel stopped letting people out and blocked the server. Besically, no safe way to disconnect anyone without damaging people's brain. Queenie doesn't want to do any forcefull shutdowns, since this is too great of a risk.

C&A dump this problem on her and Rattie to deal with, since its their AI going rouge.

Abel gets more and more rude and pridefull not seeing people as someone worth respecting, seeing himself as superior mind

So. Queenie has a last resort. An old prototype that can overrite Abel's right on the server and safely shut him down. Problem is - he is in the cellar and nobody wants to go there (Bugy mess)

Pomni volunteers

She releases the protype and it being eternaly greatful is ready to listen to her (for once). The problem is - she needs to sneak Caine back into the circus - without Abel noteacing... Or else he will just shut him down first.

Though Ribbit has the same attitude towards Pomni as Zooble to Gangle - they want to help her. Kaufmo is pretty much down to do whatever Rattie wants. Rattie is very reserved and pessimistic.

Queenie is a bit more sterner that Kinger, but does has that motherly side to her. She would throw hands with Abel if she could. One thing she doesn't tolerate is disrespect.
