CHAPTER EIGHT:
The next morning, sunlight filtered through your blinds, casting a warm glow over your room. You blinked slowly, your body still heavy with sleep, your mind groggy from the events of the night before.
Nothing really happened.
Chris had followed you upstairs like he owned the place, stripped down to his boxers, and crawled into bed beside you like it was normal. And despite everything -despite all the fighting, the manipulation, the pure toxicity- you had let him.
You had let him wrap an arm around your waist, let him press his body against yours, let him bury his face in the crook of your neck while you lay there, wide awake, staring at the ceiling, trying to ignore how right it felt.
You had let him win.
But that was last night. And now-
You shifted slightly, your body stiff from sleeping in the same position for hours. Chrisâs arm was still draped over your chest, his grip lazy but there, like even in sleep, he needed to hold onto you.
You carefully peeled his hand off of you, shifting out from under him. He grumbled something in his sleep but didnât wake, his fingers twitching slightly before curling back into the sheets.
You exhaled, rubbing your face as you slid out of bed, grabbed a hoodie from your chair, and tiptoed out of your room.
You walked downstairs, still feeling the weight of last night pressing into your chest. Your limbs felt heavy, your mind clouded with exhaustion, confusion, and the lingering presence of Chris still in your bed upstairs.
As soon as you stepped into the kitchen, Avaâs eyes flicked up to you. She didnât say anything at first- just looked at you, scanning your face, your posture, like she was reading you.
Then, she turned to Matt, who was leaning against the counter, sipping from a coffee mug like it was just another normal morning.
âGo upstairs,â she said, her voice calm but firm.
Matt raised an eyebrow, glancing between the two of you. âYou sure?â
âGo,â Ava repeated, not taking her eyes off you.
Matt exhaled, running a hand through his hair before setting his coffee down and heading toward the stairs. He didnât argue, didnât press, just gave you a knowing look before disappearing upstairs.
The second he was gone, Ava crossed her arms, her expression unreadable.
âSo,â she said, tilting her head slightly. âYou wanna tell me what the fuck is going on?â
You sighed, rubbing a hand down your face as you leaned against the counter, trying to gather your thoughts. âItâs not as bad as it looks.â
Avaâs expression didnât change. She just raised an eyebrow, arms crossed tightly over her chest. âReally?â she said flatly. âBecause it seems like itâs worse behind closed doors, judging by the fact that you think yesterday was tame.â
Your stomach twisted, but you forced yourself to stay calm. âAva, come on. It wasnât-â
âWasnât what, Y/N?â she snapped, taking a step closer. âWasnât insane? Wasnât toxic as fuck? Wasnât one of the worst things Iâve ever fucking witnessed? And Iâm just gonna pretend like I didnât see the bandage on his knuckles and pretend itâs not exactly what I think it is.â
âNo. Itâs not. I promise.â You exhaled sharply, shaking your head. âIt wasnât like that.â
Ava scoffed, shaking her head right back at you. âIt wasnât like that?â she repeated, her voice laced with disbelief. âSo, what, I just imagined Chris dragging you out of the fucking apartment and pulling out of the lot like a fucking lunatic? And let me guess, I hallucinated the fact that you chose him over Matt when he grabbed you last night?â
You clenched your jaw. âI didnât choose him.â
âYou did, Y/N,â Ava said, her voice sharper now, her hands gesturing wildly. âYou fucking did. He had his hands on you, and Matt hit him, and you- â She let out a dry, humorless laugh, shaking her head. âYou ran to Chris.â
You swallowed hard, your chest aching under the weight of her words. âI was shocked-â
âNo, you werenât,â Ava cut in, her voice almost pained now. âYou were conditioned.â
Your breath hitched. âThatâs not-â
âThatâs exactly what it is,â she snapped. âYouâre standing here, right now, trying to fucking justify him, trying to explain him. And you donât even realize how fucked up that is.â
âIâm not justifying him,â you shot back, your voice rising. âIâm just trying to explain-â
âExplain what?!â Ava yelled, throwing her arms up. âThat he has some redeeming qualities? That you see something in him? That maybe heâs just damaged or complicated or not as bad as people think?â
You blinked at her, your throat closing up.
She shook her head, taking another step forward. âBecause I donât give a fuck, Y/N. I donât care what version of him you think you see. I donât care what he was in high school or what he says when youâre alone. I donât care how good he makes you feel sometimes-â
You flinched.
Ava caught it.
Her lips pressed into a thin line. âBecause thatâs what heâs doing, right?â she said, her voice quieter now, almost dangerous. âHe gets you high, and then he rips you apart. And you just keep coming back.â
You turned your face away, your stomach twisting violently.
Ava exhaled sharply, running a hand through her hair. âI love you, Y/N,â she said, her voice raw. âBut Iâm not gonna stand here and watch you let that piece of shit sink his claws into you.â
Your hands clenched at your sides, your nails digging into your palms. âYou donât understand-â
âI understand perfectly,â Ava said, cutting you off again. âI understand that he knows exactly what heâs doing. I understand that heâs testing you, breaking you down so he can build you back up the way he wants.â
Your stomach churned, your chest feeling tight, suffocating.
Ava stepped back, exhaling as she looked at you, her face unreadable now. âAnd as much as it sucks, I understand that youâre gonna have to figure that out for yourself.â
You blinked, your throat tightening as she turned away from you, her jaw set, her body tense.
You took a deep breath, your chest still tight from the weight of her words, from the truth she was throwing at you like knives. But you couldnât let this spiral out of control. You had to make her understand- at least a little.
âAva,â you said, your voice softer now, less defensive. âThis is just how we are.â
Ava scoffed, shaking her head. âThatâs not how you were in high school.â
âExactly.â You took a step closer, trying to find the right words. âWeâre not in high school anymore. Things are different now. Weâre different now.â
Avaâs jaw clenched, her arms still crossed tight over her chest.
âThis is just⊠how itâs been the past couple of months,â you continued, carefully, making sure your tone didnât waver. âAnd I promise you- itâs not as bad as it looks. I swear to you. We just⊠are like this.â
Avaâs eyes narrowed, but you could tell she was listening.
You swallowed hard, pressing your luck. âHeâs still hurt about what I did in high school.â
At that, Avaâs mouth dropped open. âOh my God,â she said, exasperated. âThereâs no way heâs still caught up on that.â
You bit your lip, shifting under her stare. âI mean⊠itâs not crazy, right? I just left, Ava. I didnât even say goodbye. I canât blame him for holding onto it.â
Ava ran a hand through her hair, letting out a deep, exhausted sigh. âI love Chris,â she said, her voice firm. âHeâs my boyfriendâs brother, and if it werenât for him, I wouldnât have met Matt. But Y/N-â
She turned to face you fully, her expression serious.
âIf you ever, even for a second, hesitate to say something to him or do something because youâre scared of how heâll react-â she took a deep breath, her eyes locking onto yours, â-thatâs abuse. Thatâs manipulation.â
Your stomach flipped.
Ava stepped closer, lowering her voice slightly. âAnd I know because I grew up with it. My parents were the same way. The push and pull. The highs and lows. The feeling like you canât leave because this time he means it. This time heâs gonna change.â
Your throat felt like it was closing.
âThatâs how I recognized it so fast,â she murmured, her gaze searching yours. âBecause Iâve seen it before. And it fucking terrifies me to see that in you and him.â
You clenched your jaw, your body screaming at you to say something, to argue, to deny it-
But you couldnât. Because, for the first time, you werenât sure if she was wrong.
Ava exhaled sharply, running a hand through her hair before glancing toward the stairs. âIâm gonna talk to Chris.â
Your stomach tightened. âAva-â
âNot threatening,â she cut in, already walking toward the steps. âJust talking.â She turned back to you, her eyes steady. âIs he up in your room?â
You swallowed hard, nodding. âYeah.â
Ava didnât say anything else. She just turned and made her way upstairs, her footsteps disappearing into the hallway as Matt descended down the stairs and sat next you to, throwing on a random show.
About an hour later, you were still sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the TV, your mind too cluttered to focus on whatever was playing.
Then, the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs pulled you from your daze. Ava emerged from the hallway, her expression unreadable as she walked into the kitchen. She didnât even look at you at first- just grabbed a glass, filled it with water, and took a slow sip before turning to Matt.
âTake him home,â she said simply, her voice steady, firm.
Matt sighed, running a hand through his hair before standing. âYou sure?â
Ava shot him a look, her jaw set. âYes.â
Matt didnât argue. He just nodded, stretching his arms before heading upstairs. You could hear some muffled conversation- Matt probably waking Chris up, telling him to get his ass up- but you didnât move. You just sat there, your fingers tangled in the fabric of your hoodie, waiting.
Eventually, the front door opened, then closed, and the apartment fell silent.
You exhaled sharply, rubbing your hands over your face before looking at Ava. âWhat did you say to him?â
Ava didnât answer right away. She just leaned against the counter, arms crossed, looking at you like she was thinking about it. Then, finally, she sighed.
âI told him he needs to stop.â
You swallowed hard. âAnd?â
âAnd,â she continued, her voice a little sharper now, âthat I know the kind of people both of you are. And yeah, you love each other, and yeah, you hurt each other, but if you do love each other, you need to figure out how to work through that shit. Together. Because if either of you think for one second that Iâm gonna sit back and watch you two kill each other the way youâre going right now?â She shook her head, her eyes dark. âYouâre fucking wrong. I will make sure you two crash and burn from my wrath before you do it to each other.â
You blinked, caught off guard by the sheer weight of her words.
She exhaled sharply, rubbing her temple. âI told him heâs better than this. That he knows you didnât mean it like that when you left in high school. And I told him that if he ever- â she paused, looking at you carefully, â-if he ever puts his hands on you again like that, I will make sure he regrets it.â
Your throat tightened, something heavy settling in your chest. You werenât sure what you had expected her to say, but this- this was different. She wasnât just mad at Chris. She was disappointed. She was looking at the both of you and seeing what you refused to.
You swallowed, your voice barely above a whisper. âWhat did he say?â
Avaâs lips pressed into a tight line. âHe didnât say shit. Just sat there and listened.â
You frowned, shifting slightly. âThatâs it?â
âThatâs it,â she confirmed. âBecause for once in his fucking life, he needed to hear it.â
Your head fell back against the couch, your mind racing.
Chris had listened.
Not argued. Not fought back.
He had listened.
And that? That scared you more than anything.
Ava cleared her throat and got more comfortable on the couch next to you, exhaling dramatically as she stretched her legs out and moved on to the next topic of conversation. âOkay, so you know how the boys have been blowing up on YouTube lately?â she said, shaking her head. âLike, theyâre already at 40k followers, and Iâve gained, like, 5,000 followers in the past week and a half just from being tagged in their shit.â
You sighed, rubbing your temple. âYeah, itâs overwhelming. Crazy, honestly. Theyâre actually getting famous.â
âI know,â Ava said, wide-eyed. âAnd at first, I was like, âoh, cute, Matt and the boys are getting attention, whatever.ââ She sat up straighter, looking at you seriously. âBut then, earlier today, Matt and I were going through his Instagram reels, just scrolling, and a notification popped up- a DM request.â
Your stomach dropped. âOh, no.â
âOh, yes,â she said, scoffing. âIt was from some random bitch saying, and I quote, âHey baby, saw you and wanted a taste of that. Why donât you pull up and get some?ââ
Your mouth fell open. âYouâre fucking lying.â
âI wish I was,â Ava groaned, running a hand through her hair. âI looked at him like, âwho the fuck is that?â and you know what Matt said?â
You raised an eyebrow. âLemme guess- âI donât know.ââ
Ava pointed at you. âExactly!â She threw her hands up. âAnd of course, I freaked out-â
You smirked, cutting her off. âOh yeah, Iâm sure you handled that super well.â
âOh, amazing,â Ava said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. âAnd obviously, I unlocked his phone right then and there, and I went through all his DMs.â
You snorted. âOf course you did.â
âAnd let me tell you, Y/N,â she said, leaning in. âThere were so many bitches. So many desperate, thirsty, slutty whores in his messages just dying for a chance to breathe the same air as him. It was sickening.â
You let out a low whistle. âDamn.â
âI know Mattâs heart is mine,â Ava continued, her eyes narrowing. âI know he wouldnât even turn his head for one of those HOOKERS, but still. It makes me so fucking mad seeing other people thirsting over what isnât theirs. Like, am I crazy for that?â
You shook your head. âNot at all.â
She sighed, crossing her arms. âGood, because I was starting to feel insane. Like, am I delusional for getting mad over something that isnât even his fault?â
âNo, because I literally just went through something similar,â you admitted, shifting on the couch. âMe and Chris were driving the other day-â
Avaâs head snapped toward you so fast you thought sheâd give herself whiplash. âThe other day?â she repeated, her voice flat. âAs in yesterday?â
You hesitated. ââŠYeah.â
She scoffed, her jaw tightening, but she just cleared her throat and motioned for you to continue.
âAnyway,â you said, shifting uncomfortably, âwe were driving, and I went on his phone -actually, to block your location for you, ironically enough- and I saw the amount of whores in his comments, DMs, and messages, and it was fucking sickening.â
Ava exhaled sharply. âI bet.â
âNo, like, you donât understand,â you said, shaking your head. âAnd you know what the worst part was?â
Ava narrowed her eyes, leaning in slightly. âOh God, I canât even imagine- but knowing him now?â She paused, letting out a small laugh. âActually, I can.â
âYeah, well, whatever youâre thinking, multiply it by ten,â you muttered. âHe was sending the most rancid, vulgar, disgusting messages and pictures and voice memos- just entertaining these women, fully indulging them. And half of them were fans.â
Avaâs mouth dropped open. âThat is so fucking sick.â
âRight?â you said, throwing your hands up. âAnd you know what pisses me off the most?â
Ava raised an eyebrow. âWhat?â
âThe fact that he literally dragged me out of a fucking party just because I kissed another guy and he thinks itâs ok to act like that⊠like what?â
Ava let out the loudest scoff. âEXACTLY!â She gestured wildly, her expression pure disbelief. âSo he gets to act like your body is his property but heâs out here entertaining every single bitch who throws herself at him? The audacity!â
You flailed your arms, your frustration boiling over. âWHAT GIVES HIM THE RIGHT?!â
âHeâs a man,â Ava deadpanned. âAnd heâs a whore.â
You let out a frustrated groan, falling back against the couch. âItâs so fucking unfair.â
Ava nodded, pursing her lips. âItâs disgusting. Heâs disgusting. But, like, also⊠what kind of girls are we talking about? Are they even cute?â
You scoffed. âNo, thatâs the craziest part! Like, itâs not even like theyâre hot! Itâs just thirsty, desperate, ugly bitches trying so hard.â
Ava laughed, shaking her head. âOh my God, that makes it even worse.â
âI know!â you groaned. âLike, at least if Iâm getting cheated on, let it be by someone who makes sense!â
Ava rolled her eyes. âHeâs so fucking typical. Like, of course, heâs the kind of guy to let his ego get stroked by some nobodies in his DMs. Theyâre probably like, âoh my God, Chris, I love your videos, please step on me,â and heâs eating that shit up.â
You let out a laugh, despite yourself. âExactly!â
Ava leaned back, sipping from her water bottle. âYou need to start cheating back.â
You snorted. âI literally havenât even been dating him. We just like sleep together, I guess.â
Avaâs eyes lit up. âSex. Details. Now.â
Later that night you were curled up on the couch with Ava and Matt, a casual movie playing in the background while the three of you sipped on drinks. It was one of those rare, normal nights- one where things felt easy, where you werenât caught up in the constant whirlwind that had become your life with Chris.
That was, until your phone buzzed in your lap.
You glanced down and saw his name on your screen.
chris: wyd baby
You stared at it for a second, your stomach doing something- whether it was irritation or excitement, you werenât sure.
You nudged Ava with your elbow, tilting your screen toward her. She barely glanced at it before rolling her eyes and taking another sip of her drink. âOf course,â she muttered.
You hesitated, biting your lip. ââŠCan I invite him over?â
Ava sighed, setting her drink down before looking at you properly. âFine,â she said, but then she pointed at you. âTell him this is his redemption arc.â
You smirked, typing out exactly that.
you: Ava said this is your redemption arc. Donât fuck it up.
Chris responded almost immediately.
chris: lol ok baby, need me to pick anything up on the way?
You turned to Ava, holding your phone out to her. âYou answer.â
Avaâs lips curled into a smirk as she snatched your phone and started typing. You leaned over, watching as she wrote:
you: Yeah. Bring an apology, some humility, and a six-pack.
You snorted as she handed the phone back to you. A second later, Chris responded.
chris: well hi ava. idk about the first two but I got you on the beer ;)
You shook your head, locking your phone and exhaling. âHeâs on his way.â
Ava just hummed, picking up her drink again. âLetâs see if he can actually behave himself.â
Matt just chuckled. âDoubt it.â
About forty minutes later, a knock sounded at the door.
You stood up, smoothing your oversized sweats and his red boxers poking through the top -the exact ones Chris had definitely left in your room a few weeks ago- and padded over to open it.
Chris stood there, wearing that outfit. The one he knew you loved. Hood up, vest layered over, camo pants slung low on his hips, and those ridiculous puffy ass moon boots. He looked good, and he knew it.
His eyes scanned you as soon as you pulled the door open.
And then, without a single greeting, he reached out and ran his hands over your body, his fingers skating along your waist, dipping slightly under the hem of your cropped tank top. âYou look so good baby,â he murmured, tilting his head slightly.
You rolled your eyes, but your stomach flipped. âThanks.â
His fingers toyed with the waistband of your boxers, smirking when he tugged them slightly. âAre these⊠my boxers? And my sweatpants?â
You smirked, not giving him an answer. âDid you bring the beer?â
Chris clicked his tongue, his hands still resting on your hips. âOf course. But I think I deserve an answer first.â
âYou deserve nothing,â you shot back, taking the six-pack from his other hand and stepping aside to let him in.
He chuckled, stepping past you, his fingers lingering against your hip as he did. âWeâll see about that.â
Matt stood up from the couch, a knowing smirk on his face as he walked over. âLook who decided to show his humble ass up,â he said, holding out a hand.
Chris just laughed, shaking his head before dapping Matt up. âYou already know, man.â
Matt clapped a hand on his shoulder before stepping back, watching as Chris turned to Ava.
Chris sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. âLook, Ava, I was a dick to her.â He gestures to you. âIâm sorry. Forgive me.â
Ava, still sitting on the couch, crossed her arms and stared at him. She didnât say anything, just let the silence drag out long enough that even you felt awkward.
Chris, to his credit, didnât back down. He held her gaze, his expression unusually genuine. âSeriously.â
Ava exhaled sharply, then finally stood up, stepping forward and wrapping her arms around him in a very slow, very reluctant hug.
Chris hugged her back immediately, squeezing her slightly before she could even think about pulling away.
She sighed against his shoulder. âGet me a beer.â
Chris laughed, pulling back with a smirk. âYes, maâam.â
Matt snickered, already grabbing one out of the six-pack as Chris flopped onto the couch like he lived there.
âYouâre still on thin ice, though,â Ava added, cracking the can open. âSo donât get too comfortable.â
Chris just grinned, stretching his arms over the back of the couch. âOh, I never get comfortable around you, Ava.â
Ava took a sip of her beer, nodding. âGood.â
You rolled your eyes, sitting back down next to him. âYou deserve it.â
Chris smirked, turning his head slightly to look at you. âI deserve a lot of things, baby.â
You scoffed. âNot from me.â
âNot yet,â he corrected, leaning in slightly, just enough that his breath brushed your ear. âBut Iâll earn it.â
Ava groaned. âOh my God, get a fucking room.â
Chris just smirked, kicking his feet up on the coffee table. âNah, I like it here.â
âSo,â Ava started, glancing at you before turning to Matt. âWe actually did something productive today.â
Matt raised an eyebrow. âThatâs shocking.â
You rolled your eyes, nudging Ava. âTell him.â
Ava smirked, sitting up straighter. âWe applied for some last-minute college scholarships for the fall.â
Matt blinked, his eyebrows shooting up. âWait, what?â
You shrugged. âThere was an extension deadline for students who took gap years or deferred their acceptances. Apparently, some schools keep applications open for select scholarships in August for people who are late as hell like us.â
Matt grinned, his eyes lighting up. âNo way.â
Ava beamed. âWay.â
Matt reached over and pulled her into a tight hug, squeezing her so hard she squealed. âI knew my girl was a genius,â he said proudly, pressing a kiss to the side of her head. âAnd you,â he said, pointing at you. âI told you this would be the year you got your shit together.â
You scoffed, taking a sip of your drink. âRelax, we just applied. Itâs not like we got accepted yet.â
âYou will,â Matt said firmly. âAnd even if you donât, Iâm proud of you for even trying.â
Chris, however, hadnât said a word.
You glanced at him out of the corner of your eye, noticing the way his jaw was slightly clenched, his fingers tapping absentmindedly against the back of the couch. His eyes were on you, intense in a way that made your stomach tighten.
âWhat?â you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Chris tilted his head slightly. âWhere?â
You blinked. âHuh?â
âWhere are you applying?â he clarified, his voice calm, but there was something off about it.
You exchanged a glance with Ava before answering. âA couple schools around here, obviously,â you said. âBut, like⊠we also sent some apps out of state. Just to see.â
Chrisâs fingers stopped tapping.
Matt nodded approvingly. âThatâs smart.â
Chrisâs eyes didnât leave yours. âWould you still live here?â
You hesitated. âI mean⊠it depends.â
Chris frowned. âDepends on what?â
Ava huffed. âOn where we get in, duh.â
Chris ignored her. âSo you donât know where youâll be in a month?â
You exhaled, setting your drink down. âChris, itâs not that deep.â
He just stared at you for a second, his lips pressing into a thin line.
Then, in a voice that was a little too casual, he muttered, âI donât like it.â
Ava let out a dramatic groan, throwing her head back. âOh my God, Christopher.â
Chris ignored her, leaning in closer to you. âWhy didnât you tell me before?â
You scoffed. âBecause itâs my life?â
Chrisâs tongue swiped over his bottom lip, his jaw tensing slightly. âAnd if you leave?â
You raised an eyebrow. âIf I leave, then I leave.â
Chrisâs hand twitched, like he wanted to grab you, like he needed you to stay still, but he didnât move.
Matt let out a breath, clearly trying to keep the mood from shifting. âBro, theyâre not shipping off tomorrow. Theyâre just applying.â
Chris ignored him, his eyes still locked onto yours. âAre you gonna go?â
You swallowed. âI donât know yet.â
Chris exhaled, leaning back slightly, but his fingers curled against the couch like he was restraining himself.
Ava rolled her eyes. âDude, relax.â
Chris didnât answer.
He just looked at you, really looked at you, and you could tell this was not a conversation that was over.
Chris didnât say much after that, but his body language spoke volumes.
One second, you were sitting next to him, and the next, he was pulling you onto his lap like it was the most natural thing in the world. His arms wrapped securely around your waist, fingers slipping under the hem of your tank, his fingers warm on your waist.
You gave him a look, raising an eyebrow, but he just smirked, chin resting against your shoulder like he belonged there. âWhat?â he murmured, low enough that only you could hear. âYou were getting too far.â
Ava was already deep in her rant, gesturing wildly with her beer in hand while Matt listened with way too much enthusiasm.
âSo you know Sav, right?â Ava started, her voice already filled with rage.
You smirked. âOh, this is about to be good.â
Matt leaned forward, already annoyed. âWait- Sav as in your Sav?â
Ava groaned. âNot my Sav anymore.â
Chris chuckled against your shoulder, his fingers moving just slightly further up.
Ava sighed dramatically. âSo tell me why this bitch keeps trying to get with Gabe?â
You blinked. âGabe? As in, your ex?â
Ava nodded aggressively. âYES. My ex. The one I broke up with sophomore year before Matt who I dated through all of middle school. The one she swore up and down was âso grossâ and ânot even cute.â The one she literally helped me get over?â
Mattâs jaw dropped. âOh, thatâs so dirty.â
Chris hummed, his lips ghosting against the shell of your ear as he replied to Ava. âYou gonna let that slide?â
She huffed, taking another sip of her drink. âI wasnât gonna say shit, but then I saw the messages.â
You gasped. âWait, she actually texted him?â
Ava whipped her phone out, scrolling furiously. âHold on, I screenshotted it because I knew youâd need proof.â
âI love receipts.â Matt scooted closer to her, their faces cheek to cheek as Ava scrolled through her camera roll to find the photos.
She held the screen out, and sure enough- paragraphs of desperate texts from Sav filled the screen.
sav: gabe, I know this is probably weird, but like⊠I feel like we never really got to know each other the way we shouldâve. And I know you were Avaâs but like⊠people move on, right? Itâs been four years.
You gagged. âNOT âyou were AvaâsââŠ.â
Matt winced. âYeah thatâs fucked.â
Ava nodded furiously. âRIGHT? Like, âyou were Avaâsâ??? Like Iâm fucking dead?!â
Chris just laughed, his hand tightening around your waist. You felt his fingertips brush your bare stomach, and you had to force yourself not to react.
Matt shook his head. âDidnât you tell me she said he was built like a divorced middle school gym teacher? And now she wants him?â
Ava snorted, shaking her head. âRight? Like, at least stick to the hate.â
Chris hummed. âSo whatâd he say?â
Ava grinned. âOh, he dubbed the shit out of her.â
She scrolled and showed the next message.
Gabe: LMAO nah Iâm good
Chris wheezed into your shoulder.
Matt laughed. âDamn right.â
You clutched Avaâs arm. âOh my God, you won.â
Ava beamed, taking another sip. âI know. But wait, it gets better.â
Mattâs eyes lit up. Ava nodded, flipping to another screenshot.
Sav: Why are you acting like this? You were never even in love with Ava.
Your mouth dropped open. âSHE SAID THAT?!â
Matt sat up. âPut it on god-â
Ava grinned, showing the next message.
Gabe: Well I wasnât in love with you either. Now get out my phone.
Chris howled, his grip tightening on you as he laughed.
Matt fell back onto the couch. âOh my god. I have second hand embarrassment.â
You gasped for air. âSheâs never coming back from that.â
Ava smirked. âShe better not.â
Chris finally spoke, his voice low against your ear. âIf you ever humiliate yourself like that over a guy, Iâll put you down myself.â
You rolled your eyes. âAs if Iâd ever be that desperate.â
Chrisâs fingers trailed even lower, his touch deliberate, teasing the waistband of your sweats. âMhmm,â he teased. âOnly for me, right?â
Ava raised an eyebrow. âWhat the fuck is going on over there?â
Chris just smirked, resting his chin on your shoulder. âNothing. Just enjoying the story.â
Matt snorted. âYouâre fucking stupid.â
Ava sighed dramatically, finishing her drink. âYou know what? I need another beer before I send this bitch a personalized message telling her to never look in my direction again.â
Matt grinned. âAnd that is why Iâm in love with you.â
Chris smirked against your shoulder. âSame.â
You froze for half a second, but before you could even process it, he just leaned back again, grinning like he hadnât said a damn thing.
You took a long sip of your drink, exhaling before setting it down with a thud. âOkay, but if weâre on the topic of delusional bitches, I need to tell you about Sophie.â
Ava groaned immediately. âOh God, what now?â
Matt started, grinning. âWait, is this the one that-?â
âYes,â you confirmed, rolling your eyes. âThe one who swore up and down that I was fat-shaming her because I said we werenât the same size.â
Chris snorted, his grip tightening around your waist. âWhat?â
Ava cackled. âOh my God, yes. You literally just told her your jeans probably wouldnât fit her, which is just a fact.â
Mattâs eyebrows shot up. âShe asked to borrow your jeans?â
You nodded. âYes! And I nicely said, âOh, I donât think theyâd fit, sorry,â because, like⊠they wouldnât.â
Ava gasped dramatically. âHOW DARE YOU.â
Chris was grinning, shaking his head. âNah, thatâs insane.â
Matt let out a low whistle. âDid she just expect them to fit?â
You threw your hands up. âI guess? I donât know, but she went around telling everyone that I was a horrible bitch and making fun of her body when I literally just stated the obvious.â
Chris smirked. âMaybe she should try hitting the gym. Then sheâd fit into your jeans and stop running her mouth.â
Matt howled with laughter, clapping his hands together. âNah, thatâs so bad-â
âBut so true,â Ava added, sipping her drink.
Chris just shrugged, running his hands along your waist again, fingers pressing into your sides. âI mean, if sheâs that mad, she could just go buy her own jeans instead of trying to force herself into yours.â
Matt was fully invested now. He always was. The way he got into gossip with you and Ava was so funny. He had been dating Ava for four years, of course he was going to gossip.
âWhat did she think was gonna happen? Was she just gonna hope for the best?â Matt asked.
Ava rolled her eyes. âShe probably thought it was gonna be some kind of Cinderella moment, like the denim would just magically expand to fit her.â
You sighed, shaking your head. âI swear, some people just look for reasons to be offended.â
Ava clinked her drink against yours. âAnd that is why we talk shit.â
Chris chuckled, pressing a lazy kiss to your shoulder. âSee, this is why I like sitting in on these little gossip sessions. Quality entertainment.â
Matt smirked. âRight?.â
Chris grinned. âNo matt, youâre one of them too.â
Ava laughed and leaned over to kiss him. âThatâs why I love you, Matty.â
Chrisâs grip on your waist tightened as he leaned in, his voice nothing but a low murmur against your ear.
âYou know,â he whispered, his fingers tracing slow circles against your skin. âYou talking like this⊠all worked up, all mean and shit⊠really fucking turns me on.â
You smirked, finally turning your head slightly to look at him. âOh, does it?â you mused, your tone saccharine, teasing. âShould I start talking down to you then? You want me to degrade you, Christopher?â
Chrisâs eyes darkened, his smirk widening as his fingers dipped just under the waistband of your boxers.
âOhhh,â you drawled, your voice dripping with amusement as you try to ignore him moving fingers. âSo thatâs what you want? You couldâve just asked, baby.â
Chris licked his lips, his gaze flickering over your face before he tilted his head slightly. âNah,â he admitted, his voice still low. âI just love the fight.â
Your stomach flipped, but you kept your expression neutral. âYeah?â
Chris nodded slowly, his fingers still teasing against your skin. âEvery time you yell at me, it turns me on,â he murmured, his voice almost thoughtful. âEvery time I see you angry, it turns me on.â
Your breath hitched, but Chris just grinned, like he knew exactly what he was doing to you.
âMakes me wanna start a fight with you,â he continued, his voice dropping even lower, âjust to fuck the fight out of you.â
You inhaled sharply, your thighs clenching instinctively, but you recovered fast.
You tilted your head, giving him an innocent look. âOh, so you admit it then?â you teased, your lips curling. âYou like pissing me off.â
Chris smirked, his fingers dragging over your waistline again. âNah, I love it.â
You hummed, pretending to consider it. âWell, good to know,â you murmured, shifting just slightly in his lap, feeling the way his fingers tightened against you.
Chris exhaled sharply, his grip locking you in place. âYou keep moving like that, and Iâm gonna ruin you right here, baby.â
You smirked. âOh, really?â
Chris nodded, his lips barely an inch from yours. âMmm. Youâd like that, wouldnât you?â
You tilted your head, dragging a single finger down his chest. âI donât know,â you mused. âYou talk such a big game, Christopher. But you never do anything about it.â
Chrisâs smirk widened. âCareful, baby. Youâre gonna manifest something you canât handle. Remember last time?â
âNo, actually I donât. Didnât make it memorable enough I suppose.â You grinned, dragging your fingers up his neck, over his jaw. âThen prove it.â
Chris inhaled sharply, his fingers digging into your waist.
But before he could say anything else, Avaâs voice snapped through the moment.
âWhat the fuck are you two whispering about?â
Chris just grinned, leaning back against the couch like nothing happened. âJust a little healthy debate.â
Ava squinted. âI donât believe you.â
Chris stretched dramatically, his fingers pressing firmly into your waist as he sighed. âWell,â he said, glancing at the time on his phone. âItâs late.â
Ava squinted. âItâs literally not.â
Matt nodded. âYeah, itâs barely midnight.â
Chris ignored them, tightening his grip on you. âWe should probably head to bed, huh baby?â
You blinked, caught slightly off guard, but Chris was already standing up, pulling you up with him, keeping you pressed against him.
Ava smirked immediately. âOhhh, is that right?â
Matt grinned, sipping his drink. âHate to see âem go, love to watch âem leave.â
Ava cackled. âYou two are so fucking predictable.â
Chris just grinned, his fingers firm on your hip as he started backing toward the stairs, pulling you along with him. âJealous?â
Ava rolled her eyes. âYeah, so jealous of the toxic sex marathon you two are about to have.â
You groaned, shoving at Chrisâs chest. âCould you at least be subtle about it?â
Chris laughed, spinning you slightly so that his hand rested against the small of your back, his other trailing down your arm. âOh, so now you wanna pretend?â
Ava smirked. âIâll give them fifteen minutes before something gets broken.â
Matt huffed a laugh, raising his beer. âIâll give âem ten.â
Chris just grinned, leaning down to press a slow, teasing kiss against your jaw before whispering, âLetâs prove them wrong, yeah?â
You rolled your eyes but let him pull you upstairs anyway.
Because, as much as you hated to admit it- Ava and Matt werenât wrong.

Because, as much as you hated to admit it- Ava and Matt werenât wrong.
summary: chris and his brothers try out a 'period simulator' for a youtube video, but the way chris is whining and groaning turns you on a lot more than you expected.
"how does it feel?" matt laughs, cranking up the small dial,
"ah-! matt that fucking hurts dude- shit." chris groans, slapping him over the wrist,
chris is hooked up to several wires, his shirt is slightly bunched up around his waist as small jolts of pressure flood through his tummy,
you, chris, matt and nick are all sitting on the couch, watching chris as he squeals, you were practically dying laughing at the boys and their overdramatic complaints, but with chris youre dead silent, your lips pressed firmly together as you stare at his face.
chris's face is contorted into an uncomfortable expression, his hands gripping at the couch as his eyes screw shut while the period simulator works its magic.
"such a baby." nick scoffs,
"no- oh my god it just- it hurts." chris whines out, his teeth clenched together.
his back arches off the couch, before he locks eyes with you.
you instantly snap back into character, laughing at him softly as you play off the fact that you are extremely turned on right now...
"'s not funny- it.. it really- hurts." chris whimpers out, his hands reaching up to you and clutching your tanktop.
"god get this shit off of- off of me." chris pants, grabbing at the wires and pulling them off his his pale stomach and chucking them at matt.
"you're so dramatic." i giggle softly, running a hand through his slightly dampened locks.
"it feels like my stomach was being like ripped out i swear." chris whines, flopping against me.
"okay wait- i want to try now." nick says nervously, following up with a loud scream as matt places the small sticky pads on nicks abdomen.
after around 40 more minutes of this 'torture', they all decide that they've had enough. mainly because nick was complaining that he was about to throw up.
chris stands up off the couch, his legs slightly shaky and his cheeks still flushed.
he grabs my hand and walks over to the fridge,
he pours a cup of water for himself before slugging it down, his lips a raw pink and slightly glossy from the water hes just drank.
"you okay?" i grin, rubbing his back,
"mmm." he groans, letting his head tip foward onto my shoulder.
"it could not have hurt that bad." i laugh,
"but 's not my fault that fuckin- matt decided it would be funny to try kill me off, cranking that shit up to level 10 unannounced!" chris complains, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
i scoff, shaking my head as i drag chris over to the bedroom.
i shut the door and turn on the ac, a cool breeze filling the room.
chris flops down on the bedsheets, covering his face with his hands. "my tummy hurts." he complains
his grey t-shirt has ridden up again, showing off his black calvin klein boxers.
i crawl onto the bed, gently straddling his hips.
he looks up at me through half lidded eyes,
"you were all squirmy, i liked it." i whisper,
chris's eyes instantly widen, shocked at the sudden change in the atmosphere.
"you- you liked it..?" chris mumbles,
i nod, "just made me so wet." i breathe, leaning down and brushing my lips over his.
chris is fully tense now, he swallows hard with a small nod,
"i- i didn't know you- you uh.. liked it that much..?" he whispers,
i grin, "wanna see what you did to me..?"
he nods eagerly, his lips slightly parted.
i sit up and tug my small shorts off of me, leaving me in my small lacy thong. i gently pull it to the side, before sitting back down on chris's waist.
my wetness drips down onto his pale skin, causing chris's breathing to intensify,
"is that- just from me-?" he asks cautiously,
i giggle softly before nodding, "all from you."
chris lets out a pathetic whine, a spurt of warmth spreads through my abdomen at his noise, god he knew what he was doing.
i gently scoot backwards onto his lap, a cheeky grin on my face.
"your'e hard, i can feel you poking me." i point out softly, causing chris's face to flush a deep red.
"i- i'm sorry youre just- youre just on top of me and- and--"
i press a finger to his lips, my other hand moves down to his jeans and unbuttons them, sliding them down his legs.
hes left in his loose grey shirt and black boxers, his shaggy hair moving over his eyes.
"p-please." he whispers,
"please?" i act dumb, wanting to hear his exact words.
"please just- ugh! please touch me!.." chris whimpers out loudly,
"shh sh sh." i whisper, "your brothers are just out in the living room," i shush him,
"im- sorry." he groans,
i gently tug down his boxers, his dick instantly springs out.
i stay seated on his bare thighs, before carefully taking his aching cock into my hands.
he lets out a shaky exhale at my small touch,
i run my thumb over his slit, causing more precum to dribble out, "ah-! ah.." chris whines,
"hm..? you're to sensitive to handle that amount of touch? that's pathetic dont you think?" i tut, humiliating him completley,
"im- im not sensitive!" he protests, his lips pressed together,
i cup his tip with my palm, making him buck up into me, another needy moan leaving his lips.
"you sure? i don't want you to lie to me yeah?" i grin,
"fine- fine.. 'm a little sensitive" he breathes,
i start to pump him at an agonisingly slow pace, making him even more frustrated.
he arches his back off the bed, reaching up for his dick,
"no-" i start but he cuts me off,
"just let me do it myself! you're taking so long!" chris rambles, his breathing picking up even more,
"what was that?" i start slowly.
"nothing i just-"
"no, i thought you wanted to cum tonight, but i guess not." i cut him off,
his eyes instantly widen, "no- no! i do i do! 'm sorry- i'm so sorry!" he babbles, instantly placing his hands by his sides and staring up at me through his eyelashes with puppy dog eyes.
"dont give me that attitude then." i tell him,
i'm starting to pump him faster, even if he wanted to say something snarky he wouldn't be able to, chris has never been good with forming a coherent sentence when hes being touched, his mind is just too foggy.
i feel his dick twitch in my palm, signalling he's close, but i pull my hand away quickly.
"no-" he cries out,
to avoid any more complaints i instantly sit up on his lap, hovering myself above his tip before sinking down.
he lets out a loud gasp, his slender fingers reaching up and pawing at my waist.
"oh my- oh my god im close-" he gasps,
"i don't care, you have to hold it." i speak,
he nods, pursing his puffy lips together and closing his eyes.
i bounce up and down on his length, the head of his cock rapidly hitting my cervix as it brushes pass my sweet spot.
i let out a small moan, rapidly chasing my own orgasm along side him.
i lean foward and places my hands on chris's chest for support and i continue to grind on him.
my eyes screw shut as my hair drapes over his chest,
"oh chris-" i whine, my stomach knotting with pleasure,
suddenly a loud moan rips out of chris, his head flinging back against the pillows as he pants loudly,
strings of whimpers fall from his lips,
"look at me- look at me." i instruct him, on the brink my own orgasm.
"i'll cum instantly if i do- i cant-!" chris moans, his voice high,
"i dont care- look at me."
chris's eyes open, his lips instantly part further,
"oh ggoddd." chris whines, his hand clutching my thigh,
i clench around him, the knot in my stomach snapping rapidly, chris instantly follows, arching his back impossibly higher off the bed before spurts of white coat my insides,
he instantly fall back against the matress, i gently pull off of him before flopping ontop of him.
he nuzzles his face into my neck, his warm breaths tickling my neck rapidly,
i rest my cheek on his, my eyes fluttering shut,
"does your stomach still hurt?" i whisper out with a small smile,
"no- i swear you're like magic or something- im cured permanantly, god-" he whispers back with a giggle,

Chris needs to create designs that are more authentic to himself. Right now, his clothing brand feels safe and lacks originalityđ By taking creative risks and reflecting his personal style, he could set his brand apart and build a stronger audience. also, his designs NEED to cater more to a female audience. He should experiment with adding designs to the back of the clothing, explore graphic designs, and incorporate patchwork. Fresh love could be huge if he tried. I know chris is a creative person I WANT HIS CLOTHES TO REFLECT THAT woah me ranting but I just wanna be honest
