I haven't resonated with a quote so strongly in such a long time. And I understand that the entire point of the book (and now film) is that pain demands to be felt and that you can't help loving people and them loving you and in the end the pain is worth it for the time they got to spend with you but sometimes that isn't true and sometimes you really do just have to minimise the casualties.
