The Father of Death Sentence Starters
II. The Good Doctor
“I swore upon his/her grave, someday I would make things right.” “They’ve waited so long for this day.” “My father worked into his grave.” “Listen to yourself, then listen carefully to me.” “Well here it is: our chance to take back everything we’ve earned.” “There is no price they wouldn’t pay.” “Don’t turn your back on me!” “What will I become with the things I will create?” “I never said that men should bow. I never said that men should break.” “I only want to help.” “You underestimate the character of man.”
III. The Father of Death
“What have I done?” “I will not be the father of death.” “Everything that I have done, I have done for you, but it’s turned out all wrong.” “I will find a way to make this right!” “What are you doing here?” “I’m not going anywhere.”
IV. The Hounds
“I can almost hear the hounds…” “How can you question who’s to blame?” “It does not matter where you hear it from, whether truth or lies, It gets said all the same.” “There is a flame that I’ve been fanning.” “There is a hell that has been building from the moment we first met.” “These are the paths that we must take. Cause you and I, we are men and we can bend and we can break.”
V. The State vs. Thomas Light
“But it doesn’t matter what they’ll do to me.” “Have they forgotten you when they set their sights on me?” “They will hang me from the rope tonight.” “Will you be waiting there for me?” “There’s nothing left here for me now.” “But either way it’s all my fault.” “I feel like a dead manand what can a dead man do?”
VIII. Breaking Out
“The city doesn’t know what’s coming, She doesn’t feel the heat.“ “I’m breaking out of here tonight.” “There’s gotta be something better, something that feels more alive.” “Like this whole city wants to scream, but no one makes a sound.” “So I’m going to find out what it is and I’m going to tear it down.” “We don’t have time for goodbyes.” “I know you can’t come with me.” “So kiss me fast cause there’s no time to lose.” “When everything is said and done, I swear I’m gonna make it right.” “I’m so tired of giving up.” “Sometimes I just want to drive until the streets run out.” “When I get back there will be hell to pay.”
IX. Keep Quiet
“I’ve seen your face in the shadows.” “I’ve heard them whisper about you.” “But men, they say a lot of foolish things.” “The only words I can find to believe in are mine.” “This city, she’d been dead for years now.” “Death is not something that scares me.” “There’s worse things than death here.” “I will not be told where to stand! I will not be told what to say.” “You’re gonna have to do better than fear!”
X. Light Up The Night
“So either way you’re a casualty.” “Cut me down or let me run, either way it’s all gonna burn.” “There is a city that this darkness can’t hide.” “Maybe you and I, we can still make it right.” “It’s like they’ve gathered up the city, they sold it to the Devil and now It’s gone to hell and they wonder how.” “There is a fire that will burn through the streets of the city.” “You and I. We can bring back the light.”
XII. Here Comes The Arm
“You can’t just set the world at someone else’s feet and not get trampled underneath.” “That debt was meant for me.” “I can’t undo it now.” “I still have work to do..”
Rage is addictive, you know. I guess it’s sorta like a drug. Anger and hatred get you high. They get you high, but like any addiction, they hollow you out and tear you down and eat you alive.

He didn’t reply, but he did as instructed anyway. His driving was smooth and collected, like nothing was wrong at all. The police in the distance didn’t worry him - not only because he was capable of eluding them, but because their focus was on the burning building.
A brief and casual glance over when the woman removed her mask. And no more than a glance, just enough to take in the stranger’s features and remember her face.
Jacket thought over his route and where would be a good place to stop for a phone. He thought over a couple gas stations and a restaurant where he knew there were pay phones, but then he decided on a grocery store in a quieter part of town. All the while, he was driving steadily in that direction, watching for police but seeing no signs of trouble.
He didn’t bother with any questions. The woman sounded irritated and in a hurry, and with a gun still on him, Jacket wasn’t about to spare any unnecessary friendliness.
Alex’s eyes darted from the window to the man driving her. Her heart was still racing. Her hands were shaking obviously. The gun seemed to grow heavier by the minute. In felt like the longest drive of her life. The blonde man seemed to drive as if he’d been in this situation before. In fact, everything about his behavior creeped her out. The way he seemed so calm when his life was in danger. Had she been panicking less, she would have put the pieces together quicker.
He was a soldier. Just like her. He had to be. A normal man would likely be in tears. She felt herself searching her memories. His face seemed familiar. Had she seen him way back then? Had she met him before? Maybe she saw him on TV? Now wasn’t the time. She needed to focus on getting out of this mess alive.
“Where are we going?” She asked. “I swear, if you do anything stupid... I’m gonna paint the windshield with your fucking brains, you hear?”
I flippin love this game.
I will go to war in a red dress, trample your ashes in high heels, look for my lipstick stain on your collar when I lean forwards not to kiss you, but to whisper: “I win.”
