huge mistborn/hero of ages series spoilers ahead venting my frustration.

just finished the hero of ages. genuinely sent me spiraling because how is it fair that like every author i like kills my favorite characters. sanderson did it with kelsier and i had the FOOLISHNESS and the NAÏVETY to trust him with my heart again. how dare he with elend and then with vin. not allowed not funny didn't laugh. i may never read again.

vin cannot actually be considering elend's more annoying edgy counterpart for a malewife. this guy waltzes in, lies to her, displays textbook symptoms of abuse, and she responds well to it? don't get me wrong she was raised weirdly which probably affects how she interacts with others and she /did/ get super attached to elend when they'd spent a grand total of like 20 minutes together before book 2 but i'm still quaking. i didn't like elend at first because he was so y/n coded but i actually really like him now and i refuse to see vin fall for the trap of "hot edgy guy who persuades me to leave my loved ones" like so many young women do😔🫶 THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER MAN IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU YOU DO NOT NEED A BLACK CAT EDWARD CULLEN KNOCKOFF
